Glide and Stride Bra - Detail Photos With Comparison to Energy and Strap It Like It's Hot Bras

I was pleasantly surprised when I tried on the Glide and Stride Bra today and ended up coming home with it. I am always on the lookout for a supportive and comfortable bra, and this seems to be one. The bra comes up nicely high in front and in the armpit, which tends to be a problem zone for me in lululemon bras. The band is wide and supportive and has an adjustable hook in the back. A couple of the on-line reviews have mentioned they thought the straps were too long (one of them was from a 5'2" lady) but I thought they were perfect and maybe on the short side (I'm 5' 5"). The only nit I can see some people having with this bra (besides the hefty price) is that it doesn't have cup pockets (or at least I didn't find slots for them). I don't use them most of the time but I know some people like them. The bra has four layers of fabric so I don't think coverage is a problem but I know the cups do give a little extra support. I'd put the support of this between an Energy Bra and Strap It Like It's Hot Bra.

Glide and Stride compared to my beloved Strap It Like It's Hot Bra. The SILIH is my favorite lululemon bra of all time - it's the only shelf bra I find supportive enough to run in. The band is slightly narrower than the SILIH but it's wider than the Energy Bra band. The front and back coverage is about the same. The G&S is not nearly as compressive as the SILIH so it's more comfortable but, then again, it's not as supportive.

You can see that the Glide and Stride has a wider band than Energy Bra. The front coverage is very similar in the armpit area. I think the G&S is more supportive than the Energy.

It looks like a nice bra. I like the color too, but I just can't get past the white hook area in the back. It really, really bothers me for some reason. I don't understand why they couldn't have dyed that piece to match. It ruins the cuteness for me.

Thank you so much for this review! Living abroad I never want to order bras online from lulu anymore. I always end up disappointed. So now I only buy bras when I'm in a store while visiting home 2 times a year. Of course normally by that time everything is sold out of the ones I want to try on. :( I'm like you, I have trouble finding sports bras that hold in but don't have everything spilling over in different places. I'm a 36D or 38C. My favorite is also the SILIH! I should have bought 2 of those! But I will buy this new style now thanks to your review. :) So did you get your normal SILIH size? or did you size up or down? -Heidi

Thank you for the comparison of the bras. I keep waiting for the SLIH to make a comeback. I do have 3 of them, but have not found another bra by LLL or other company that is so perfect. It's Goldilocks for sure.

I've been wanting to try the SITIH Bra! However I am small chested, I'm a 34B, but I'm intrigued by the design & lately I've been going crazy buying old lululemon product. So sad how drab the current stuff is. Do you think the US will get the varsity blue shibori? I hope so...

@toni lande - I am hoping the US gets the blue Shibori Energy. I have my eye on that one, too. Being a B cup I'm not sure you would like the SILIH bra since it's super compressive and a lot of bra. It sold out in stores in sizes 8 and up but had to hit WMTM to clear out the smaller sizes so I don't think it worked as well for smaller busted women.

@hmdowd - I got my normal size but I think the band is a bit wider than both the Energy Bra and SILIH. I think on the tightest setting it will make it equal to the Energy and SILIH.

Strap it Like it's Hot is also my favourite Lulu sports bra of all time (I have 3). I generally don't wear Lulu bras because my size is 32F and so even their C/D bras are not supportive enough for me.

I will give this one a try, thank you for your review. Hopefully it will work for bigger cup sizes too. I do wish more companies catered to cup sizes beyong DD.

I too LOVE the Strap it like its hot bra. It is my most supportive lulu bra and the only bra I will run in that doesn't rub or cause any sort of discomfort. Of course they stopped making it. I Glide and Stride worked well for me, not quite as supportive but still worth the purchase. The mail order ones don't come with pads (or Lulu bags anymore, WTF???) so I'll have to try pads next time and see if that helps.

The last thing I ordered online didn't even come in the clear protective bag. It doesn't feel good to pay $130+ for leggings and have them arrive carelessly tossed in mailer.
