We had a rubbish upload in the UK, none of the Strive stuff and not the beautiful LS Swiftly. However I did buy some Michi leggings in the sale which were £87 and OH MY GOD they blow LLL out of the water. They're like silk but stretchy. They have the dreaded mesh on the front but they're so well made and properly cut that they don't make me look like a fat prostitute like the LLL mesh does (I am a US12 so have to be careful about what I choose). I'm so in love with these leggings I'm thinking of just wearing them all the time so I can sit at my desk and stroke my legs.
Seriously, do people really wear 7/8 tights or any tights that don't cover the ankle outside in the winter??? They have the model wearing gloves but didn't think to either put leggings on that covered the ankle or put LLL leg warmers on so that it is a complete winter workout look. The poor model in the vest and leggings that exposes a good six inches of leg not to mention her leggings have mesh, looks like she is freezing. I just don't get why these photo shots are not styled for how we really dress ourselves for outdoor workouts in winter.
That Cadence Crusher bra is horrible! They used to make such cute run bras that everyone else tried to emulate. Now I find myself shopping other brands because now their run bras are much more feminine, cuter, prettier.
I really love that last outfit a lot- the teal is super pretty and i love the grey and white combo!
idk who these girls are that are ok with running with freezing cold ankles just for the sake of mesh. I would give anything for a great functional pair of double layer running pants about now, where I live the wind just makes it to painful to have any exposed skin!
I cannot find this answer anywhere so I thought I'd just ask here. I recently bought the featherlight tights & i saw they are now on WMTM... great! I read somewhere that they do a price match policy.... I ordered these online though. Is there anyway if I take these into the store will they match the price to its current one? that way I get the money back?
@ anon 8:06 pm - I know! I really like the Free to Be TRanquil and Zen and those are the last cute bras they put out. I don't know what's going on with them lately in the bra department. Well, all over, actually. It's like lululemon forgot how to be feminine all of a sudden.
@ anon 5:59 am - My eyes zoom to cold ankles, too! I grew up in upstate NY and I remember how the wind would seem to target my wrists, right under my chin, and ankles - anything exposed.
@toni lande - If you're still within the return window, I would just return the full price pair and repurchase from WMTM. You probably won't have much luck pursuing a price match, unfortunately - I haven't heard a lot of positive things in that regard. Lots of people have been getting burned in the last year buying items at full price (often right at release) only to have them end up on WMTM in just a couple weeks.
In defense of crops in winter, I live in the Bay Area. It was low 40's this am when I went for a awesome hike on Mt Tam with my bff. It was sunny but windy. I purposely chose a pair of crops (black cherry print from LY) with mesh up back of my leg to mid thigh. I get so frigging overheated I want to wear speed shorts. I typically shed down to a CRB, but left my l/s swiftly on today.
Who dresses like that in below freezing weather? I don't dress heavy for running but a swiftly, vest and those pants? I at least wear my down pullover. Well you hafta wear it sometime.
I just scored a Run for Cold pull-over on sale (drool!)...The plum vest was on sale online too but it's sold out now. It will momentarily pop up though but I can't add it to my cart fast enough. I don't shop LLL as frequently as you ladies, but is it safe to say the black will likely go on sale/WMTM too?
Do most items end up in WMTM at some point?
Was super disappointed when I saw the new speeds in store. I thought the colors would be vibrant, but alas, they were an easy pass for me.
I know re ankles! I got the fresh track tights on WMTM (comfy but not flattering). I'm 5'3 and they are still too short on me. My ankles did get cold this morning (30 degrees) def can't wear them in real cold weather. (The fleece is also ultra thin).
I live in a warmer climate, so I can do crops in winter. And I'm short, so 7/8 is almost full-length on me. However, the model in the snowy image looks cold. Her facial expressions looks like she's uncomfortable.
I think those in cold climates need full-length pants. I visited relatives last year and ran in the snow (temps around 0 degrees). I definitely had my ankles covered. They'd also sell more accessories if they modeled them.
I tried and got the new Cadence Crusher bra and love it. It's soft and comfy, reversible (what has been reversible at Lulu lately? nothing!) It also fits me to a T. I'm an avid runner and am always in search of a decent bra and this is the only new one I've liked from them in the past year.
I wait for the full holiday return Windows before taking any tags off as much as I want to wear my new items. I've returned those that have gone to markdown :p sometimes repurchase at lower price but most of the time I don't buy it again and they lose a sale. I don't play that game Lulu!
I wear lots of crop leggings in the winter bc I live in the south. Also, if it is a chilly day, I'll wear my 7/8 leggings with Ugg boots and I'm totally covered. I prefer 7/8 or tips for Barre class.
Never heard about any kind of price match for lulu. It can be on sale in the store and full price on the net and they refuse to match. Like another said you can return and then buy on wmtm. What a pia tho!
Just like the images from yesterday, the woman in the white Fleece Be True Crew and Strive Multi Inspire Tights looks fantastic, including her shoes. Also one of the very few people who can pull of that FBT crew and look cool. I'm not going to buy the outfit but she can definitely sell it.
As for the images of winter and the exposed lower legs and ankles: we know these photos are staged and not necessarily by people who are experienced runners, whether they’re in the photo or taking it. They absolutely should be more thoughtful, it would work to LLL’s advantage. (But hey, in the past they’ve depicted fall gear with flip flops or my favourite, bra with a scarf.) However, it does depend on where you live. Where you get four seasons and true winter I would agree that my legs would be covered by a long, winter tight for 99% of my runs. Running or not, I also wear wool socks (Smartwool) in winter because my feet and ankles need to be adequately protected, and not just by an ankle height sock. As an experienced runner I know what types of layers and how many layers I need. Whether I need my true winter running tights, my other tights; or maybe on a rare, milder day can get away with a shorter tight or crop. One does not always need a full jacket, insulated or not. Last Sunday we had a -4C (25F) morning with sun, not too bad wind and I was out in Half Zip (w/ CRB), Down for a Run vest, and winter running tights. I had gloves and hat but I had to take the hat off at times because I was quite warm. Usually I wear a neck gaiter, too, because you can always take that off. I hate to overheat but my choices are usually correct and it's best to be prepared. Everybody’s body core temp is different. During spring and fall (and also when the seasons transition) I see people who are overdressed, imo. I get warm just looking at them but if it works for them, great. Sometimes I think they are in experienced which they might be, or might not be.
Those are the first pictures that I've seen where I actually liked the Fleece Be True crew.
@ RHCP 4:02 PM, typically LLL will move the less classic colours to wmtm before they move black, navy etc. The more classic items may or may not go to wmtm as they might sell out online or in store. Some items still sell out online, eventually.
Since they increased their base retail prices, A LOT of items are going to wmtm sooner rather than later, i.e. the prices are going down to the former "regular" retail price, so sometimes not much of a deal. It can pay to wait if you are not in any hurry and are willing to check all the time. I've also read about how items pop back, these are usually online returns or found stock...or some theorize, stock that's held back on purpose to create FOMO. Also, it's not uncommon for stores to do markdown of the stock sooner than on-line, still within the season. Sometimes in store deals are better than wmtm. That search or checking can be a little tiresome but feasible, if it's not out of your way to stop in. Hope this helps!
@ anon 9:56 am - I think pop-backs happen when they take a look at the inventory in stores and then put that "on-line". So, the initial inventory is the warehouse and then when that is gone they start selling out of stores. It used to be pop-backs happened when returns hit the warehouse but I think these days, since the timeline is faster, it's inventory from the stores.
As a side note, I think it's telling we're seeing the classic black and entire size and color runs move to WMTM intact.
hi did you see the new prints? 6 new ones coming, I'm not sure if they will be in US though.

Anon 4:30 PM: I think you are talking about the Sleet Sprinter tights and not the Fresh Tracks, but your point is well taken.
Anon 9:56 am: I think some pop-backs happen when online purchases are not completed by the end of the day and the system pulls them from the baskets to make them available again.
I use to stop in my store weekly to look at the MD rack, and with the exception of the In the Flow crops, which the store had marked down to $34, I have always found better MD deals online.
@Toni - thanks for the link! I had seen a still photo of the waves print but I like the others - Vivid Vision and Twisted Tangle - much better. It sounds like they're only going to be in the UK.
I find better markdowns in the store. Today I got the brave the cold for $149, outrun blue and black long sleeve for $44 and outrun 1/2 zip in hero blue for $49!
The Indian Ocean swiftly is not as rich in color as in top pic. Sad. I don't care for the black thread running throughout. ...kinda busy with blue white stripe pattern and odd black thread added in. Typically they do 2 colours..3 I is busy and odd combo with white. But from a distance colour looks much better.
@ Anon 9:56 - except that in Lulu's case what you have in your cart in NOT pulled from inventory until it's purchased so it's not taken out of inventory to begin with. So, while your scenario makes sense with many online retailers, Lulu's system isn't like that.
anon@6:28pm Agree about the Indian Ocean swiftly. It's coming off my favorites list now that I've seen it in person.
The store was really busy today. I can't figure out why. Nothing that exciting to me.
Are you in Canada or US? I'm wanting the hero blue outrun 1/2 zip and would rather not pay full price :) TIA!
I'm in the US.
@anon 9:56 am and @luluaddict - Thank you! Yes, this was very helpful.
I'll be on the lookout for the vest in WMTM. I need it in my life!
