Thursday Upload

Pretty new print called Flossy Dark Carbon in the Scuba IV.

Flossy Dark Carbon Speed Shorts.

Frozen Fizz Define

New Lightly Jacket, made of luon. Is this a potential Define replacement?

Fresh Tracks Jacket, made of tech fleece. I like the idea of a tech fleece jacket. However, I'd like a higher neck to be able to make a true turtleneck and this year's tech fleece is too thin.

New Polartech Kick the Cold Hoodie, Jacket, and Funnel Neck pullover. I tried the funnel neck on today. It was warm but I don't love the spongey-feeling fleece.

Step to It Jacket

I get a little scared when I hear "potential Define replacement". Has there been word that the jacket will be discontinued (again)? It is the only item I ever buy from Lulu anymore on a consistent basis because they haven't messed with the fit or length. They haven't made the most of it though, since it made its comeback, because they always release similar colors. How many blue Defines can a woman own? Jet Set Blue, Hero Blue, Nocturnal Teal, Harbor Blue, Sapphire Blue, etc and that is just within the past 2-3 months. Enough with the blues already! And don't get me started on the endless version so space dye greys either. I want more pops of color.

Have we seen something similar to that Flossy Dark Carbon print before? I feel like it's familiar for some reason. That really the only thing I'm interested in this time around, but I will wait to see it in store.

The wrap is cute, but I know if I wait 3-4 months, they will show up at the outlet. It seems like they always have a rack of wraps there.

I do not care for any of this! What else is new, haha. Flossy Dark Carbon print is a little too antique table cloth, no thank you.

The Step To It jacket appears to be a dumbed down version of the Feelin' Frosty Softshell jacket (I have the latter from the first year it was out, waited for markdown). The Step To It looks looser/less tailored and it has no cuffs with thumb holes, from what I can see. They added a draw cord to the hood in the STI, which was the only flaw with the Feelin' Frosty. While it appears to be a similar jacket, apart from the noctunal teal colour, it does not draw me in at all the way the FF did.

Was hoping for back heathered pace rivals... so now I am deciding do I just go ahead and try the free runner crops...

The sleeves are too short on almost everything. All these new sweatshirts and jackets, look at the way the thumb holes tug the sleeves down. As someone with really long arms, I can tell you that is painful.

@ anon 6:45 pm - it is a little but at least it's more feminine than a lot of the recent prints. I like its manifestation in the slate Rest Less PO.

@ anon 5:55 pm - I haven't heard anything but it looks pretty similar to the Define so it set off a warning bell with me.

The Slate Rest Less PO looks really nice.

Here in the UK the Rest Less only goes up to size 10. Why Lulu, why? I usually take a 10, but often like to size up to 12 with pullovers and swiftlys because I like a roomier fit.

I'm sitting here reading this in old lulu that is cute as can be. The new stuff is far too outer space for me. what happened to cute details and nice fabrics and fun patterns that made shopping and wearing FUN? this is depressing.

Do you know what's going on the the herringbone this season? I feel like in past years the herringbone pieces had been out at this point in the season.

@Jillian L - I don't think there is going to be any herringbone. They're trying new textures.

Completely agree with everything said in this comment from anon 5:55PM. I'm feeling and thinking the same! They really must be trying to get rid of their old loyal customers and they are doing a great job. I can think of TONS of colours and textures and the kinds of prints that I'd love to see the Define come in that I would buy!

New Lululemon: we give you designs you don't like, and discontinue the ones you do like. ☕️

Oh man, I haven't posted here in many moons, but wondered if everyone felt as I did, after reading comments in this one post, totally yes!! I too am sitting here in a luxurious black scuba from 2012 and buttery cotton infinity scarf from 2013. In all of 2016 I got maybe 2 bras and some underwear. I remember years past scrolling daily through the holiday offerings, counting minutes to an upload ready to pounce on a hot item, biting my lip when I saw something irresistible (every week) "ooohhh I GOTTA have THAT!! Pricetag be damned!!"

I can't remember the last time I felt that way, I mean it's just soooooo MEH! The models don't even look good in the stuff, and look pretty miserable wearing it. And the price far exceeds any desirability at this point, Thank God I have a huge collection of older Lulu to love. The knock offs lately have been way more exciting in color and design. I got a fantastic tech mesh pant knockoff from Express and also bought my first pair of Nike pants in 6 years, the fabrics and design are fabulous, more Lulu than Lulu is at a fraction of the cost!

I'm still going to check in from time to time, I love your blog Lulu Addict! I do miss the thrilling uploads of yesteryear!!

@Angela - thanks for checking in! I'll have to check Nike out. I used to buy them years ago, before I discovered LLL, but it never fit right, shrunk, and/or stretched out.

@LLA 9:23 PM, you are right, Flossy Dark Carbon is more feminine and definitely more in line with what we have loved about the brand; it looks good in the Rest Less pullover too. (I've been reading how soft those versions are.) I think my reaction and objection to it was more towards the Speed Shorts. It just does not work for me in the short. The scuba is actually pretty. I think I am also just overly annoyed with this company now--as many of us are--because they can't pick a successful track to follow and are all over the place, cheapening the product in general, plus boxy cuts, too much mesh. How do you go from the Austin Powers/'60s prints from a couple of months ago to all of this black and white and grey (and I LOVE monochromatic/classic, but it is too much) and now possibly back to some femininity in this FDC print?

Needless to say, my spending on LLL is severely reduced, in particular in the past year.

As for Rest Less pullovers, I love mine. I have the graphic versions in heathered black from year one and the red from last year. I don't know if I'm going to go for any this year. (Probably going to wait for markdown.) However, they are one of my most reached for articles of clothing. I'm in Canada and they are indispensable in fall and winter. Plus to take along for hiking or camping for varying weather in milder seasons.

I buy now that of my leggings from Glyder these days. The Elongate legging and Mantra crops from Glyder and also Athleta's Chat line has served me well. Both companies run great sales too.
