So whenever I call a lululemon store the educator says "oh we haven't had those in a really long time hun" or some don't even know what they are. Kinda crazy that we know more about the product than they do.
Yeah, I don't get it either. I don't think they are flattering or attractive either to be honest. Definitely not my style. The only way I think someone could pull it off and look good doing it is if they are someone who has that overall "punk" kind of style and vibe about them (not the wannabes)... really don't think there are that many that could fit into this category that are LLL fans to be honest.
I bought the first edition tech mesh tights and they look a lot less mummy-ish bc the mesh starts lower and there's less lines. The last high times and this WUP seem to have more mesh panels and they start higher up the leg so they definitely have more of the mummy look. I love mine!
I'm lean so I could wear these. But they are not to my personal taste at all. I have seen a couple of people in person wearing these (at yoga studio), however only one person wears them well; I would say they suit her and she looks great. The other person who wears them, they don't look that good. But, people like what they like and I guess if they make you happy, that's the point. We think people will choose to wear what will ultimately flatter them but this is not what some people do.
I don't get the hype either. People who don't even shop LLL regularly are after these leggings and only these leggings.
@anon11:46, RIGHT!!! I don't like these and didn't get the hype but I couldn't figure out exactly what is was that bothered me so much....it does look like mummy legs!! These pants need to go back in the coffin..
Either lulu is the knockoff or someone else has already knocked them off because I just saw a woman wearing these today and those pants were nowhere close to Lulu's size range.
OT, can someone please comment on the longevity of the Free to Be Zen bra? When it first came out everyone was saying like the stitching wasn't going to last on the delicate back design. Anyone had any problems? I received a $25 gift certificate and wouldn't mind giving this style a try if it's not going to fall apart on me. Thanks! :)
Grrr! This is so OT but I'm so frustrated with Lulu's customer "service."
I shipped back a return 2 weeks ago. It arrived at the warehouse on Dec. 7 and they STILL have not sent a refund. I have emailed twice inquiring about the status of the return and why there has been a delay (I returned another item on Dec. 9 and got my refund 5 days ago).
Here's the response: "Thank you for reaching out to us here at lululemon's Guest Education Centre (GEC). I hope you're day has been awesome so far."
and
"Are you signed up with our product notifications by any chance?"
Do they have trained monkeys answering emails? My third graders can write better replies.
@ anon 9:46 pm - Probably someone knocked these off lululemon. Lululemon released Tech Mesh High Times at least a year or more ago.
@ anon 9:25 pm - They look good on long legged women.
@ anon 5:27 pm - I've read they're hitting CA stores next week.
@ anon 1:43 pm - Unless they are a long time employees they probably don't. I walked into a store wearing brand new Fit Physique Crops last week and one of the educators approached me asking if I ever wore their bottoms. Granted it was a brand new store and Xmas time so there was a high probability she was very new to the brand.
@ anon 1:18 pm - I just saw a report about a strategic partner store in Canada that received them yesterday. I'd start by working the phones.
I bought the other ones with the seem and my 9 year old grabbed them off the front porch yesterday when he came home from school but I haven't even opened the package. I wanted this version more so I'll probably trade if they show up in stores. I have long skinny legs and I think they might look good.
I prefer to think of them as a ballet-grunge look, rather than mummy-zombie-hooker, but whatever, I have no qualms about looking sexy at yoga.
Another OT comment: Just wanted to share that I've tried to call a couple of stores to see if they have the Get Lost Duffel in stock (the dark cherry is not online anymore), and the new thing is that calls are going directly to voicemail with a promise that they'll call you back when you leave a message. No call back. Seriously, the customer service is horrid. Why not try and answer the phone? I understand Xmas is a busy time, but surely someone can answer the phone? So frustrating.
@ anon 11:57 am - I read about a store in BC but no other info than that.
@grateful momma - here in the US certain studios and gyms can carry lululemon - Core Power Yoga and Equinox gyms are two I know about. You can search for them on the website: http://info.lululemon.com/about/strategic-sales/strategic-sales-partners
Classy sexy - not. Trashy sexy - not. I'd call them playful sexy. Many ladies seem to like them. The hype is not coming from lulu. Otherwise the (un)eds would not have been so clueless about them.
Most definitely not playful sexy either. I don't get that vibe at all when I look at these. Playful sexy would also be kind of cute and these are not at all cute. Honestly, trashy sexy suits them most of all.

They're nice.
Not an easy style to pull off, though. I definitely couldn't wear them.
You need the right trainers, too. They all look wack in that pic.
Mummy legs.....
Just not a fan of the tech mesh.
I still do not understand the hype on these- not flattering at all IMO
Not in OC yet tho. Called all 4 stores. Hopefully will be uploaded Tuesday.
Definitely not my style, I'm not a fan of all the mesh.
What about Canada??

I guess they might look good on some select people...it has a dated look that a lot of other companies copied already.

Not my style but I'm sure some people could make it work
The high times version are way better, these are too long imo
anon@12:02pm agree. The mummy look is not a flattering look.
Aren't they make their tights wider?
lulu mission viejo, irvine, & fashion island do not have it in yet
I don't like these at all.

I think these are cute on other people but I felt like a sausage in them. Lol
Pretty sure the only people hyping these are Lulu employees. Why would anyone want a bunch of extra seams for workout pants? And they look ridiculous.
These are not flattering at ALL!

"Zombie strippers" was what another commenter said earlier. Agree!

I agree I liked the ones with the pigment tie dye they were unique otherwise don't really get it.

What does strategic partner store mean?

What partner stores in Canada LLA?

...there's classy sexy and then there's trashy sexy though.... pretty sure these fall into the trashy sexy category...
I thought it's always been that way? I usually just keep calling till they answer lol
Classy sexy - not. Trashy sexy - not. I'd call them playful sexy. Many ladies seem to like them. The hype is not coming from lulu. Otherwise the (un)eds would not have been so clueless about them.
Oh thanks! I never knew it was called that. We sell Lululemon at the gym where I work, too.
Most definitely not playful sexy either. I don't get that vibe at all when I look at these. Playful sexy would also be kind of cute and these are not at all cute. Honestly, trashy sexy suits them most of all.
I say NO. Those are terrible, and yes it's a trend, I see it all over NYC.
Who am I to critique though, my yoga pants have unicorns on them.
