OT: adidas by Stella McCartney Essentials Adizero Hooded Longsleeve

(Photos: adidas)
adidas Black/Deepest Purple Essentials Adizero Hoodie, $125

After spotting this pretty adidas by Stella McCartney pullover on Bandier I decided to give it a try. I ended up ordering it from Zappos since they have free shipping and Bandier and Carbon 38 require you to order $175 and $200 worth of merchandise to get free shipping.

Though the adidas size chart said the Large mapped into a lulu 12 I suspected the top would fit small since that's a common issue with higher end active wear.

It's hard to see in the photos but the sleeves have thumbholes.

The top turned out to fit more like a small size lulu 10 and the material wasn't as stretchy as luxtreme. Here is it on top of a size ten Race With Grace Pullover.

The fabric content is a polyester/spandex blend.

The top is flat-seamed in some areas but not all.

Each arm has a reflective adidas and Stella McCartney logos.

The upper back is all mesh, which is nice but I could feel the transition seam.

The zipper pull is logo'd with Stella McCartney, which is a nice touch.

The side mesh panels are bonded in.

Overall, I found the black not as deep as I expected so the top was more of a very dark gray rather than a rich black. However, the floral print is very, very pretty and I loved the deep green color in it. I found the feel of the fabric on the harsh side, but I think a lot of us get used to the soft feel of lululemon's fabrics and it's tough to break away from that. It definitely is not as stretchy as luxtreme. Even though the seams are flat I noticed them against my skin. It's a super pretty top but I'm not sure I would have ended up keeping it even if it fit me correctly. It doesn't have any pockets and the only think it has going for it is a super pretty print.

this is awesome..... I also have been looking around and buying other brands for the gym, I've bought a couple shorts/capri's from columbia and they are really awesome super flatering fit. and am not buying lulu much anymore since I just don't like their styles and prints, i was interested in the ponte pant (can't remember the name) called and its polyester..... I am not a fan of poly, I miss the modern racerback in vitessea...... and I prefer nylon for my synthetics, wish they would do better wool pieces too.... the design team is just not any good imo!!!!!

Very pretty Lulumum!

The print is very nice indeed, but I cannot wear polyester; nylon is ok, if I wash it after perspiring in it. Furthermore, this item would be around $200 CAD with the exchange, shipping and tax. There are reasons why I still prefer to buy from Lululemon...

The print is so pretty! Too bad about the fit and fabric.

I think you are right about being used to Lulu fabrics. I had a couple of friends go on and on about how comfy and soft a pair of Zella leggings were. Then I read a blog review on them, so I bought them to try. I didn't find them soft at all. The fabric felt weird to me. Even the reviews on the Nordstrom website talked about how amazingly soft they were. I was wondering what the problem was. I thought maybe they needed more wash and wears, but what you are saying makes more sense! They are definitely not as soft as my black Luon WUP.
