omg at the tight stuff tights! for that price you can get a legitimately technical pair of 2xu running tights! LOL who does lulu thing they are??!
Inspire tights went from $98 to $108. I can't believe the tight stuff tights went up. They didn't sell at $148, they're certainly not going to sell at $158!!
I know prices in store in Canada have gone up for the swiftlies. A friend that lives there was in store yesterday and the short sleeves were already $68.
@sam - well, that's a bummer.
@ anon 9:34 am - Agree about the Tight Stuff Tight.
LOOOOOL $158. Sure.
Not a smart move given the economy here right now.
My lulu addiction has definitely slowed down because of the way things are.
With the prices increasing, I think it's time to completely stop buying it. Prices are going up and quality is going down. It's just not worth it any more.
That's one expensive pocket on the Trackers to put them $6.00 more than the Run Times. I have a huge selection of s/s Swiftlies so unless one comes out in a colour that knocks my socks off I won't be buying anymore for a long time. Adios to the l/s Swiftly at $78. As for the price hikes on the shorts, I think the Trackers are overpriced and the Speed and Run Times under $60. I can live with but for shorts with no detail other than a good design I wouldn't pay anymore for them as is.
All the drama with this company over the last year or so has really made me question how much more Lulu do I really need. I can afford it but I have changed my shopping habits big time with LLL because I'm just not that into it anymore.
I'm one crazy Lulu spender. But at those prices, I will think long and hard before pulling the trigger on anything at full price.
So upsetting....Didn't we just have a price increase not to long ago?
and another thing I'm upset about I bought a pair of high rise crops recently and the stitching all came out of them, started unraveling after a couple wears. I then last week purchased a pair of High Times in Black and my daughter said Mom I can see right through your pants and I looked in the mirror and sure enough completely sheer, more sheer then the first time the complaints started. So disappointing.
Tight Stuff crops are now $138.
If my memory serves me correctly, at the end of 2012 /beginning of 2013, (please correct me if I'm wrong) Lululemon released some insulated pieces that were ridiculously over-priced. Suddenly, the price-tags on those pieces were dropped as customers complained loudly. I'm optimistically hoping that something similar might occur here.
lol @ anon 12:50! may as well splurge and go for the full length pant for almost 160! hhahahha :p
I am a complete idiot for buying anything from this company. I look at my Lulu wardrobe and realize it probably cost as much as my graduate degree :( And really, what has it done for me? I have some cute workout and "athleisure" outfits that demonstrate how frivolous I've been with my money. I think instead of wasting my money at Lulu I'll save for a down payment on a condo, and I'll still work out just as much as I do now.
Here in NYC on 5th avenue (Flatiron) also known as the athleisure district Sweaty Betty, Tory and Bandier have higher prices than LULU. LULU must be trying to compete.

Just like the mens stuff went up earlier in the year...
metal techs and most shorts are $68 *was $64
metal tech LS, are $78, was $72...
most mens pants are $108... used to be $98
Lol ok, thanks for forgetting your Canadian roots Lulu. I have a huge collection already so I will definitely be slowing way down. Only been buying from WMTM the past year anyway.
I've also discovered other brands with great quality and cuter stuff than Lulu. Loving stuff over at Hemm and also Running Bare
the prices of swiftly will be increasing in NA tommarrow
They are worried about the educators looking intimidating but raise the price $10 without blinking an eye? They haven't been doing as well because their clothes aren't as cute!! Raising prices to fix that won't work. They are gonna price themselves out of the market.
With the hideous prints that are coming out, my wallet is safe. I've been waiting for the pretty lace print to hit Canada in the tight stuff crop which never happened. I'm pretty disappointed with the lack-luster colors and designs this spring/summer. Sick of mesh. LLL needs to step up its game. I have some great pieces bought way back when the company began that I love that they never made again. (Flip flops, super soft relaxed skirt and zip up hoody...)
I will be sitting tight on my tidy little collection and laugh at the new prices.
yeah i have pretty much lost it for lulu since ms.day took the helm that was the beginning of the end for me now i barely buy anything anymore the last thing i bought funny was a crb the pistacio and the ray (prob left overs); I tried on the new pants that cince at the bottom since i was drooling over the rosewood color but they just didn't look good on me??? The material was too loosy goosy somehow in the butt area and looked weird? Anyhow w/ the way things are going i doubt i will buy that often from them. I did get scuba II off ebay for 40 bucks now that is a steal, looks to be in like new condition too. I have bought a pair of the nike lab shorts and I love them they are knee length..... always wished lulu would do a long speed short to the knee somehow? They never materialized???? I know alot of ladies that would love a knee length shorts (not tights)! Nice knowin ya lulu..... looking for a new friend!
Hi LLA, I saw on LLM's blog, she had pictures posted of the new LS swiftly in Power purple and it was priced at $78!! Now, I am a total swiftly woman, (just stocked up due to price increase) and love power purple. Normally I would already be in my store purchasing it but I won't be now at $78. Keep in mind that in my province there is 13% tax on top of that. Yep. No.
But I wanted to say that I LOVE BOTH of your blogs, have been reading them for years, and thank you for doing all this work!
Wow, I already thought that swiftlys are expensive enough, but now there's no way that I will buy them. I seriously can't afford Lulu anymore. I used to be able to treat myself to a CRB if I wanted something but now the CRB2 is going to be more than $50 and I really just can't justify this anymore.
Ditto!!!
Anon @3:26 PM - Actually, this is PRECISELY what I have been thinking lately. We may be the minority on these blogs, but man... I lost myself. I'm glad my perspective has shifted dramatically, and try not to dwell on the regret.
@M - that's what I've been thinking - they're aligning their prices with the rest of the higher end workout wear.
LLA yup and funny enough, I see a lot of people walking out of all those stores with big bags of merchandise. So there are people out there paying those prices.
M
^Which sucks because their prices are rising and their quality is decreasing, contrary to the other workout brands who at least maintain quality. I love Lulu but given that we're not allowed to wear leggings for grad school and they just upped the swiftlys swiftly out of my range... I'm afraid my addiction will be easily managed.
It's such a racket.
