A good comparison of Cool Racerback 1 vs. 2. I think I'd like the back of the CRBII better if the neck was curved and didn't have the V in the back. I think the racerback on the Lace CRB is nicely done:

Oh no! They CRB2 is terrible.
Yeah, I don't care for it. I hope to check it out myself in the store tomorrow.
Purple hottie hot shorts are CUTE!
Wow that CRB is bad. I probably have 50 of the original CRBs but the logo placement and new back arrangement just won't work for me. I like to wear CRBs for everything and there is no way I'd be able to wear a normal bra with the new back styling. Doesn't matter though, since I'm done spending $ on LLL.
Bordeaux Drama AGAIN? Some innovation.
Ladies, (not sure if this was mentioned) just FYI per educator in Boston Lulu store, regular old version of Cool Racerback will still be available online just not in store. So thankfully it's not going away :-))))
I love my lace CRB. Wish I got more colors.
CRBii, nope, not even when it goes to wmtm. They need to quit calling it a CRB. It isn't. Yet they are trying to capitalize on one of their best sellers.
As well, I won't be back to purchase when try try to resurrect the CRBi in a couple of years. Nothing they tried to bring back ever got purchased by me.
Yup another fail!!
I don't like the way it looks from behind at all. Does it have a little bit more coverage at the front neckline, or is it just me seeing this? If so, I wouldn't mind that change but on the previous CRB and not at $52.
Crb II isn't even the CRBs cousin. I didn't bother trying it on because the seams are bulky, the thong back is weird and the edges are more like the yogi racerback (which is why I think the seams are bulky)
I tried the CRB II on today and I really didn't like the fit. It made my back look huge (wide) and it gave me back boobs, even in my size up. I tried on the original CRB and it fits perfectly. I bought a couple original CRBs because we all know that the transition to "online only" really translates to CRB extinction and that it is Lululemon's cowardly way of phasing out their classic products.

They did the same thing regarding the Scuba II/Scuba III. They called the III version a Scuba when it should have been called something completely different. No way that thing can even come close to the Scuba II. They also said the II version would be available online only, and it was, but only for a very short period of time, and only released in prints/colours from the previous year that they most likely just wanted to use up before canning them. I'm guessing the same thing will happen with the CRB. I never bought any Scuba IIIs, not even on markdown, not even when I saw the most gorgeous colour or print that I would have bought if it were a Scuba II. Oh well, I saved a lot of money on Scubas this past year. and I have about 32 Scuba IIs anyway, so maybe this was a blessing in disguise to help me realize I don't actually need any more anyway.
The TaTa Tamer bra is featured on their 'What's New' page, but the only thing that is new about it is the price tag! It's gone up in price as well, from $58 to $64.
Oh but I love that color! When something works, it works.
It's almost as narrow on the bar as Power Y. I don't see why make another similar tank as there's already Power y.
Is the third to last picture a new color of hotty hot shorts? Like the new dusty rose color that's kinda mauve?
The CRBII looks great from the front on the girl in that first comparison pic! Look at the way the original is all bunched up at the tummy. I don't think the new one is doing that, although, admittedly it's more noticeable with a solid color.
But something isn't right in back, up top at the neck. It's really strange looking and the racer back is too long and skinny. That might look better on a looser fitting tank, with lower arm holes.
Overall, I love the new shorter length with curved hem. I'm 5'9" with a very long torso and I feel like CRBs are too long. This new style looks a lot like one of my favorite tanks, the Studio Racer Back? Or Modern Racer Back? I don't know, but I have a grey one and I love it.
I agree the back racer portion doesn't look right. I don't mean to sound crude, but it's almost like a thong between the shoulder blades. The proportions are off.
*HATE* the back of the new CRBii!
I agree with a previous poster, the back has a thong vibe!
These pictures do a great job showing the difference between the two. The front to me does look just a tad higher but it's the back that kills it for me. You can plainly see how much more bra is showing in the newer version compared to the old. It's not only for that reason that I would never buy the new one but I think making the racerback thinner and longer is not a better look.
I agree with you LLA about the 2 & 1 Tank. Why call it that when you can't separate the bra from the tank? I like the cut and looseness of the design but for me it's too sheer as well. Yes where the heck as the circle mesh gone?
@Leeza, wish I could believe that but if you look at the history of Lulu then that line they have you is just smoke. Hopefully though it is true...
NO THANKS TO ALL OF THIS STUFF. I'M SAVING MY MONEY. MY BANK ACCOUNT IS LOOKING MUCH BETTER THANKS TO LULULEMON
I like the front of the CRB II and the back of the original CRB. Wish they made one like this.
I absolutely hate the new price. More $ for less fabric. Way to go, Lulu.
I just noticed today that all the bras have gone up in price on the Canadian site. I remember the first time I purchased the Energy bra it was $42. Has it improved? No.
Bourdeaux Drama again?! Just as we were finally done with it, it shows up again. Come on Lululemon, step away from BD, grey (every shade) and black!
I just came back from the store. I tried in the new crb and I really liked it. I was prepared not to based on all the negative feed back but it fit nice and the new seaming reminds me of the cotton tanks. I tried on my usual size in both black and white. The black fit large like size down large but the white fit perfect so I am not sure if I had a wonky one or what. I thought it was very flattering however I was not in need of white or black so I passed for now. I did have an unexpected surprise with the get away crew. They had it styled so cute on the mannequin so I tried in on in the heathered white and it came home with me. Super cute and I never would have guessed
because we all walk around with our bags open like that...
Tried on CRB II today. Didn't intend to buy it it going in but I did! I didn't notice the missing length at all. It was way less bunchy around the waist than the original (which for the record will ALWAYS be my fave). I didn't mind the back "thong" since my back is actually my most toned area. And the front for me is actually an improvement over the original. The little bit of side bra fat that most lulu bras give me was actually covered by the tank! In conclusion, I didn't want to like it. But after trying it on, I did.
Exactly this.
@ anon 2:26pm - I bought the CRBII today, too. I didn't think I would like the camo print as much as I did and once I saw there was no poly in the print I was all in. The eds told me the new CRB is 1.5" shorter than the original. Agree about your fit assessment.
I did not see the CRB II in San Francisco Grant Street today. Maybe I missed it? I like the new color greyvy...yes, looks like a bluer/greyer (less red) version of nightfall. Did not like the material of the new bags at all.
CRB II is made so well. The Luon is soft and there are nice details on the edges on the new tank. I really love it. The front isn't as deep cut as regular CRB. I bought all three colors. I'm looking forward to more solid colors. They are $48
Kool Aid drinking getting underway, I see.
I like how LLM blog post shows the rough edges, non-flat seams of the "CRB" II. Even further reduced quality for more money. LLL is ecstatic to continue to suck you in and take your money.
I ended up picking up the CRB2 today as well even though I was dead set against it, it's incredibly flattering on me. Being petite I didn't realize how much extra fabric I was carrying with the old CRB. While I still love those, I'm happy to see that I still have an options should the CRB be discontinued. I suggest trying it on before writing it off completely! I also totally caved on swiftlys, walked in to "look" at the power purple LS, left with that and the new dark blue tank version. Both were so nice in person that the 10.00 increase didn't even phase me. Damn you Lulu.
@ anon 6:58 pm - not kool aid drinking but I wanted to see it in person and use my own photos of the issue at the top of the neck. It's coming in a separate post.
