I kind of love both of these - Var City Tank and Crop.

Wow. I missed out on the tank last year and I'm glad to see it back, those crops are beautiful too! I thought I had more than enough summer clothes and I can save my money, but this outfit is telling me differently...
I see the Var-City Muscle Tank on Lulu website - is this old one from last year?? http://shop.lululemon.com/products/clothes-accessories/tanks-no-support/Var-City-Muscle-Tank
I passed on the Var City and Sculpt tanks last year and regretted it. When sculpt tanks came out again I bought 3 and I think I will probably end up getting at least 2 Var City tanks, as long as the colors are appealing.
OT - visited a store in London and tried on the new Savasana rain coat. Hero blue is so pretty-- neutral and bright at the same time. The arms were very long in my TTS but the shape was good. They didn't have my size down to try on. I would say TTS or size down on this one.
Also tried on the new &Go Endeavor dress and it was awful on me in both my TTS and size up. This dress fits very differently from the previous &Go dresses. Shoulders way too wide and the kangaroo pocket created a weird sag in the front. Didnt bother trying my side down.
@anon 4:40am yes, the mesh on the side of the pant leg is super sheer. I really liked the crops, but not sure I can deal with that much sheerness. @anon 6:06am I didn't see a side pocket on these crops that would hold an iPhone.
I had the Var-city crops last year in black - and LOVED them -- sadly the seam stitching started to come out and I had to return them -- I hope they fixed that issue because they were really nice
I loved the Var-city crop too and had 2 pairs but the seams broke down along the sides so they had to be returned I hope they've fixed that issue because they were some of my faves I also own the Var-city tank not the muscle version shown here but the tank is my favorite and if it comes out again I will buy every color! I will re-visit the muscle version as it looks awesome here!
I have one of the var-city muscle tanks from last year. I swear if it's the same I will buy every color (and be very, very broke). I LOVE mine. I wore it multiple times a week hand-washing it this summer because I was dancing like 5 days a week in an un-AC'd room. It shows the bra underneath but not to a creepy level, it's flattering, and the side detail is so great and makes it even better breathing-wise. I AM SO EXCITED.
I have the Var-city crops from last year and love them! I always get compliments on them, too. They have a pocket in the back that has plenty of room for my iPhone 6s -- it doesn't zip, but it's big enough that I've had no worries or problems with the phone falling out. They also have the two front pockets, so I can put my key and ID in one and a couple gels in the other.

Is the side kind of a see through mesh?
Where are the pockets on the crop? Would they hold an iPhone 6?

Yes, I see a Varsity Tank on the US site as well. I saw the comment above and went to check it out. I am in Canada but wanted to take a look.
