Rain On Train On Pullover - Try On Comments and Photos

I know I'm not the right demographic for this top since it hardly rains here but I was a little underwhelmed by the Rain On Train On Pullover. I tried to take some photos to illustrate it but the Boom Juice is two-toned. When you see the top in person you can obviously tell which segments of the pullover the water resistance has been applied to since it is a little duller in color than other sections of the pullover. In this photo, the dull portions are the top of the arm and the front of the pullover. The segments along your sides and underside of the arm are a little more saturated in color. Here are a few more photos:

In this photo, I think only the back yoke flap and tops of the arms are water treated.

A photo of the shouler and under arm portion. You can see the under arm/side is a slightly darker color than the chest and top of the arm.

A photo of the sleeve - the bottom side of the arm is on the left.

The hood is made of Glyde and there is no way to stow or roll it up - it's either on or off. I think for $128 you should be able to zip the hood into the collar or at least roll it up and fasten it so it's tucked away.

There is no cord pass-through for your music player. I think that is a major oversight, especially at a $128 price point. Maybe I am behind the times in that I haven't made the move to wireless blue tooth headphones yet but not having to deal with remembering to charge yet another item before a run keeps me happy with my inexpensive Yurbud Inspires.

On the good side the luxtreme used in the pullover is very thick and substantial. I didn't care for the horizontal seam across the chest and the yoke at the neck. I much prefer the simple look of the back of this pullover to the front. The fit is snug and you probably want to size up in this.

Is the fit snug like a define or really snug??

Thank you, LLA! Mine is on the way to me and I might return it based on your detailed obervations. Thank you! You are so right about the price point being $128 and doesn't function like a $128 jacket! On top of that, why can't they keep the whole jacket the SAME color. Jeez....

I've run into color differences like this before but it's usually because they are mixing full on luxtreme with regular but this is made of all full on luxtreme. The color is really pretty but I wish they had chosen to make a Race With Grace pullover instead of this top. If it comes up at a nice WMTM price I might get it since the material is really substantial and the color is pretty. I think it's overpriced at $128.

@ anon 8:47 pm - I'd say Define snug but since it's luxtreme it'll showcase lumps a bit more than the luon. I thought the shoulder area was on the snugger side, too. If you have wider shoulders you might not like it.

Thanks for the info LLA I am 4 hours from a store so online is on the way...btw it sounds prob b headed back.

No way!! It should totally have the cord pass-through or whatever it's called. It's not an issue of behind the times. I think most people have earphones with cords, and I have awesome Bose running headphones. Of course I want that feature. This is another case of removing the very details that make lulu products worth the dough...

My number one wish for 2016 is a re-release of race with grace! I have 2. They are seriously the perfect transitional running piece (35-55 degrees)

I tried on the 6 and was so disappointed with the way it fit (sausag effect) and looked I didn't even bother trying on the 8...I like the idea it just didn't work

OT...does anyone know if boolux will stretch upon wearing?? Loving the new sweater but am torn between sizing down and tts

For $128 it should have a cord pass through (I haven't jumped to wireless yet either - no plans to and also love my yurbud inspires!) and the hood should be a stowaway hood. Kind of dumb you have to choose to run without the hood or with the hood. Many times i've been caught where it didn't look like it would rain and then it does and the opposite too...looks like it's going to and never does. Why would I buy a top that adds more stress to getting out and running? No thanks!

I received mine today and loved it. I ordered my tts and it is hard to pull on because of the fabric but it's nice quality fabric. Snug like define but my define has a bit more stretch. If you want it to be looser order a size up but I don't think that's the way it's supposed to fit. I didn't notice the color difference and wasn't bothered by that at all. I wish it was $98 too but appreciate the functionality, stylish fit and quality.

Not a fan of anything Lulu has been putting out lately! I can't remember the last time I bought anything! Rather disappointing. Oh well, I've been buying a ton of crafting supplies lately since I'm injured and can't run right now. So there is that.

I'm curious if anyone has tried the 5 Mile Vest or Train In The Rain Tight? Still no reviews online.

Hi LLA, this comment is completely unrelated to Lulu, so I don't expect you to approve it, but I'm in a bit of a pickle. I'm hoping to find someone willing to act as an Angel for me, but in this instance, I need a Nike Angel! I live in New Zealand, and have been trying to order a pair of shoes through the US Nike store -- a pair only available through the US online store, to the best of my knowledge -- for my fiancé's birthday. I thought everything was going swimmingly; I managed to purchase a Nike voucher to the value of the shoes on eBay, and went to place an order for them on the Nike US web store, using my parcel-forwarding service address... only to find that there is no way I can make an order without a US residential address! Moral of the story: always do your research first! I know I could probably peruse Nike boards online to find someone willing to help me, but I thought I would try my luck here first, as I've always found everyone to be so lovely and helpful. I've been an Angel for others in the past, and have had others offer to do the same for me (though I've never actually taken anyone up on this offer, and these offers were so long ago that I no longer have contact details for any of these people, or I would have turned to them first). So I'm desperately hoping that someone from the LLA community would be willing to help me. Or perhaps you may be able to suggest someone or somewhere I can turn to for assistance. Thanks in advance : )

I am so sad that this top seems to be sub-par in terms of running jackets. It looked so promising on the website! Fingers crossed for a more functional pullover in boom juice. :(

@Brooke Sasha

I don't see why you can't send something to me in the U.S. I'm assuming shipping to New Zealand is no different than Canada really so I'd be happy to help. Can you post your email and I will contact you?

lulu just doesn't do it for me anymore. Stuff your bra is the one thing I would probably get. I ordered a strap it like it's hot to see how I would like that one for running, it was the only thing that I saw that I had any interest in.
