Fellow headband junkies! - I totally missed this cutie in the upload so many thanks to a reader for pointing it out. It's the new Ready or Not headband. It's made of luon and adjustable. I couldn't resist ordering it this morning to try. I got the same one as the photo but it also comes in solid black. I don't have any adjustable headbands so this should be interesting. It's so pretty I hope it works for me.

OT- LLA - Curious about what you decided to do with your Gator Seamless Streets? I think I have to order them. I love that color and don't have any bottoms in that fabric...

@ anon 1:29 pm - I ended up taking them back. I had a fit of fiscal consciousness (for once!) and returned a few things but I keep thinking about them- seeing them in photos gives me longing pangs, lol. I really, really loved the color but I already have two pairs of In the Flows and a pair of original Ebb and Flows so don't 'need' them. In addition, it got up to 90 over the weekend and I was kind of hot wearing my ebb and flows around the house/on errands so thought the Gators would be a bad choice for indoor summer running when my gym gets super sticky.

LLA -- I'm reading conflicting messages. First that the Inspires will be replaced by the Pace Rival crops and then that the Inspires will not be replaced but will be online only. Do you know which it is? Also, besides being a smidge longer than the Inspires, have you heard of any other differences in the fit between Inspires and Pace Rival? How do the rises compare? Anybody try both and have an opinion? Thanks!

@ anon 2:41 pm - It was stated on Hey, Lululemon.com that the Inspires would become on-line only. So that is a reliable source. The Pace Rivals have not made it to the US yet so I haven't been able to compare the two. If anyone has any insights, I'm dying to know, too.

LLA, this is way OT (and I'm not sure if you would want to touch this topic with a 10-foot pole or not!) but I would LOVE a post on how you budget for your lulu purchases. Not actual numbers, obviously, but maybe just some ideas/strategies/self-imposed rules that have been useful for you. Because my addiction is getting a little (ahem. a lot) expensive and I have GOT to scale it back. I guess I should dig around your archives and see if you have already done anything like this. Thanks in advance!

Yes! Yes! Yes! To the OT! I also need help managing my addiction. I need tips and tricks to a healthy collection! I think this warrants its own post!

My addiction is horrendous...don't know how to cure other than sell something for everything that comes in the house. Time consuming, but keeps my assortment current and to the stuff I really like. If there is one thing that bugs me about a lulu item I own, it goes into the "sell on eBay" pile.

well I justify a purchase with the thought "this colour will come around again next year so I won't need anything in it next year" - I have been buying for about 1 1/2 years - and I have about 150 items ! YIKES ! my husband usually doesn't say anything but he did ask if I knew i had spent $10,000 in just over a year - YIKES - that was an eye opener. At $600 to $800 a month - it adds up fast! That is $75 to $200 every week - average! YIKES. But I think I have enough black crops, and jackets of every kind - so that will cut down my expenses. I am building on coloured crops and patterns slowly! I now have been accumulating LS swiftlys and CRBs in every colour released....many with tags still on because it is too hot for swiftlys right now. I am hoping by next year I will have all possible colours that I won't need more. And the skirts - I am slowing down on those, as I have so many things that I don't get a chance to wear! I hope I can slow down soon! YIKES I dread seeing the visa bill - somehow it is always a surprise how much I spend when I keep thinking I have returned lots of stuff!

@ anon 3:49 pm - I am terrible about budgeting for my lulu. Usually, when I exceed my "allowance" which was about $400 a month but has popped up over that by quite a bit lately, I'll sell older stuff on ebay to offset. That is what a lot of avid fans are doing behind the scenes - the people who are routinely spending a a few hundred every week - they'll sell older pieces and churn their collection so they have a lot of the latest and some treasured favorites like a Heathered Flash CRB or Quiet Stripes Wunder Under Crops. Very few are true hoarders. Or they'll hoard in a few specific categories like Speed shorts or CRBs.

There are a number of facebook boards for buying and selling. I think the one my friends use the most lately is lululemon 911 which has 24 hour auctions and ISO lululemon (In Search Of lululemon) where people post what they are looking for and you respond that you have it and make a deal. With facebook boards you use paypal. There are very skilled buyers who will often complain a piece is not as described to get a better price through a refund so you have to watch out for that.

Honestly, I like to buy off the boards since the prices are lower than eBay and sell on Ebay. I also stick to buying NWT or NWOT (new with/without tag) condition. I've been disappointed too much when buying used stuff if I buy anything else. Everyone always overestimates the condition of their stuff. If you are selling NWT, then go ahead and take a chance on selling on the boards since people won't as much room to dispute condition. I usually sell on ebay because I like that it has a very clear cut set of rules and weeds out scammers fairly successfully. I also don't want to be hounded by endless questions for photos and condition of an item. My best advice to you as a seller is disclose all flaws - if there is pilling, state where and how big an area, etc., and under estimate condition. That is where people often disagree. If you wore something twice and it looks brand new, say worn twice. But if you worn it a ton and you think it's EUC (excellent used condition), downplay to VGC (very good condition) so your buyer isn't disappointed.

I also don't sell to Canada anymore unless I know the person. I just can't take the stress of worrying if it makes it. Packages are easy and cheap to track within the US and you will need to prove the person received your package if any disputes arises. The audience within the US is large enough that I don't miss Canadian buyers too much. However, I think on the FB boards you are not allowed to ask for US only buyers, but I could be wrong.

@ anon 4:59 pm - I should post about it but it would be like the blind leading the blind since I have a huge collection and am sitting on a very large "sell" pile right now. However, it would spark some good comments for sure. I'll start working on it.

Like all addictions: go cold turkey. Seriously! Tho it would be an interesting discussion, along with the husband issue too. :)

Speaking of budgets and blowing them.. the Q2 online warehouse sale must be coming up??

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 11:51pm - Re: husbands - I told my husband this discussion came up on the blog and that I am the worst person to lead a discussion about reigning in a lulu buying habit - my blog isn't titled "addict" by accident - and he quipped that the secret regarding husbands and buying lulu is to keep him "happy enough." Har har, thanks, honey.

@ anon 5:47 am - Man, I seem to recall some sort of big sale or similar event one year around the 4th of July weekend. I'll have to ping my friends and dig around my blog to refresh my memory.

Re: warehouse sale - LLA, maybe you know, but have you noticed that a TON of inventory has been pulled from the website? Around the time of this week's upload, I noticed that about half of the WMTM disappeared all at once. Also, certain colors of full-priced items were gone also (things that were not on the brink of selling out). I can only guess this would be anticipation?

Pace rivals are very similar to inspire crops. They have the same fit and are the same length, the main difference between them is the side pockets on pace rivals (similar to speed tights). Pace rivals are definitely a new and improved inspire!

WMTN today was pretty lame. Maybe that's further indication that a big sale is on the horizon...

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 9:47 and anon 10:24 am - I noticed. I wonder if there might be a sale over the July 4 weekend. I seem to remember some sort of sale-type event happening around then. Does anyone else? I need to do a better search on my blog since my first one yielded nothing. Anyway, keep your eyes peeled on WMTM. I would think it'll be sooner rather than later.

Well, there are only 3 weeks left in Q2 so if LLL want to be accurate in the timing they've reported for the warehouse sale, something will have to drop soon. There was also a noticeable contraction in WMTM items on the Canadian site this week as well, so does that mean both Canada and US will be getting the sale?

@9:47 et all: I noticed the same thing. Have never paid attention to warehouse sale. And I've been keeping an eye on the retreat dress as didn't want to buy another at full price! (Yes. It looks like a nightgown. But today it hit 92 and have no summer clothing up north where I wasn't supposed to be right now so yanked the tags off. Quite comfy. My niece saw it & immediately tried it on & now wants one too!)
So what's the deal with a warehouse sale? How does one find out? (I don't do Facebook so please tell me there is another way. If possible) Thanks!

@ anon 7:40 pm - lululemon's fiscal year ended on Feb 2, so there are 8 more weeks left in Q2.
