We'll probably see these today since they are out already in Canada - the Chevron Shuffle Fatigue Scuba and the Biggie Prism Petal Inkwell Scuba.

lululemon jungle

lululemon mystic jungle

Update - Whoops - nearly missed these. The new print is called Mystic Jungle Fatigue Green/Black. These are Inspire Crops and are fullux.

Update 2 - Thanks to the reader who pointed this out - a new Adjustable All Sport Bra in Vintage Pink. Love the color and the idea. I might need to try this.

~~ BRACE YOURSELVES FOR THE FUG ~~

lululemon pleat on ls

lululemon pleat on ls
New Pleat On LS, made of swift ultra light and spacer fabric. Seriously, WTF. What is this for? Where are the pieces I can sweat in? Why are Lab-type pieces dominating the offerings so much? I truly think it's an error to head down this path.

lululemon plank tank

lululemon plank tank
Another cheap-looking, boxy, boring piece - the luxtreme Plank Tank. Is this a student design?

lululemon both ways dress
Both Ways Dress

lululemon day trip blouse

lululemon day trip blouse

The Day Trip Blouse isn't bad but I really have no use for this. I am not a fan of these swim material work-wardrobe pieces. The sleeves look short and I hate that in a top.

lululemon day trip boyfriend pant
Day Trip Boyfriend pant. These are kind of cute but how many boyfriend pants does lululemon need to put out?

What on earth...

I laughed at "Brace yourself for the fug", and then... the fug hit. You were not exaggerating, sadly.

Anonymous said...

This is getting old!! There hasn't been a good upload in months! :-{

Oh, the humanity.

Lake'n'Mountainlover said...

Agree. Lulu's new motto: Let the Fug be with you. Wow. When oh when will any goodies come to us?

Deezee007 said...

What are these monstrosities?

Does Lulu think that we are that brainwashed that they can continuously serve us up crap and we will eat it?

I pay hard earned money to Lulu for unique yet cute, technical clothes that I can sweat in and can take a beating if need be. If I wanted boyfriend pants or a billowy/duster of a top, I'd hit up Nordstrom.

End rant.

No words... Just completely awful across the board.

I am so thoroughly bored with Lulu pieces and have been for awhile. I can't tell you the last time I actually got excited about something. I used to buy really frequently (probably too frequently) and I barely order anything anymore.

Is the day trip blouse a button down or is it a fake button down? Namely is there the option to not have it closed all the way up like that?

Anonymous said...

this is the worst yet. nothing functional, nothing cute, nothing that stands out in a good way.
I love the CRB, the swiftlys, the NON-SEE THRU pants.
where are they?? where is a good true red?
why is the hop to it crop $69 on the website? can anyone comment about sheerness and function>

well...that blue scuba is pretty!

Anonymous said...

my wallet has been safe for a long time with what Lulu is "designing" the past few months

Anonymous said...

There is also a new adjustable All Sport Bra!
Lulu seems to be following the fashion trends...ugh, which I disagree with to some degree, because some are just awful!!!

Anonymous said...

'Brace yourself for the Fug' - LOL.

Well, Lulu is making it easy for me to scale back my spending. All I want is some colourful CRBs, Swiftlys and some neutral Studio Crops. If they can manage that, I'll just keep ignoring the crap.

Anonymous said...

WTF is right?! What is up with all those pleats in the back on that white top...I'm so confused...seriously Lulu? Women actually want to look cute. :-p

Anonymous said...

You weren't kidding when you said "brace yourselves"...thanks for the warning ;-)

Anonymous said...

Fug is right.

Anonymous said...

I am bewildered...is there really someone who would wear those clothes anywhere ever?

@ anon 1:21 pm - thanks for the tip on the adjustable all sport. I really like that.

@ anon 1:46 pm - I guess I can kind of see a LS blouse-type top that you can wear as a tourist or maybe even hiking but the new Day Trip blouse looks a bit too dressy for a hike or even for being a tourist. I would really they put their time into making cute, functional UPF tops rather than waste the swim fabric on work wear. Frankly, the swim material tops feel a bit harsh - thick, stiff, and rough - usually in awful prints or blah colors, for me to want to wear it to work. It's the resources that are wasted making these "work wear" pieces that could be put to use designing functional tanks and tops to sweat in that bother me the most. The tank section still needs a lot of work, yet it continues to be ignored. I don't understand the business decisions behind this. Ignore your core competency to work on something a boatload of competitors do better.

I was searching for older Lulu items the other day on the web. It made me miss the days when Lulu released cute, functional items--the uploads of brightly colored run gear, etc. For me, late 2013, 2014, and so far 2015 is a complete bust.

Where is Marc Jacobs when you need him? Lululemon should just hire out top designers like Target! All of the lululemon design team should be fired!

I think the pleat on long sleeve is super cute. I would wear it to work in a heart beat. Anything that makes working 12 hours in a professional setting comfortable and stylish is an easy buy for me. I also bought a plank tank look-a-like from ASOS a couple weeks back. :) I'm probably in the minority, but I love this fitness wear to work/minimalist style trend.

Anonymous said...

Oh my goodness! I completely agree, totally fugly. I don't care about what's in fashion or the latest trends at all, I just want the old Lulu back! Bring back the quality cute, feminine and figure flattering Lulu we all know and love! I agree LuluAddict, the tank section needs a lot of work, they should be focusing on things like this rather than the latest trends and fashion stuff.

ANON 1:15PM- I have the Hop To It Crop and adore them. I own several pairs and am so annoyed that I bought 3 pairs of them full price. I ordered another pair at $69 recently. They are very comfortable and TTS. I wear them for running, cardio classes, spin and yoga. I love that these don't have zipper pocket on back waist so when i'm doing yoga, they are still great. They have very nice compression and super flattering to boot! I'm not sure why they are $69 and in regular section and not WMTM section....

HOLY MOLY THIS IS PURE SHIT PRODUCTS.
I love the green color though. I have been picking up a few nice pieces on Ebay. I would rather give Ebay my $ for nice things that aren't too overpriced.

I, too , may be in the minority, but I really like the Pleat On LS. However, it's not really long sleeved, more like 3/4 sleeve, which is less desirable to me. I noticed that it comes in black as well. Just not sure what I'd wear it with...

Anonymous said...

Melody - I am kinda with you on the pleats! That shirt would definitely look great on the right person with the right outfit. I myself like clean lines with flow/draped looked. It can look classy if right : )

Anonymous said...

I think I made a version of the plank tank in grade 8 home ec class. yuck! Not much stuff is interesting to me these days, and it just seems to be all over the place. no cohesive colors, clothes that you can't work out in, fug everywhere. I really hope they start to turn out their reliable basics (CRBs, studio pants)in some better colors soon.

Anonymous said...

Agree with everyone. I can spend a *gross* amount on awesome, functional, multi-purpose basics: crb (TOTAL fail that they have not released tempting colors lately, I'd buy one every upload), power y, wu's, vinyassa scarves , etc. I just recently bought my first define jacket and I really like it ( although the color choices are not great, IMO). What I love best about lulu is that many pieces can be worn for a workout or a night out! Crbs are my main summer top for all things.

Something that highlighted my frustration with lulu this past fall was my search for a marathon outfit fir my first ever marathon at disney. I wanted an AWESOME speed shorts/top combo and really found no "outfit" over the previous 6 months that I lived. The speeds did not coordinate well with tops, or the coordinating tops came out after the speeds were sold out in my size. Just a total fail lately, I am willing to shop and spend if they would present quality, colorful stuff.

I, for one, cannot complain about the FUG.
One of my New Year's Resolutions was to limit my Lulu impulse purchases to 2 items per month. I got into a really bad habit of dropping $250+ each week on upload night. It became expensive and definitely none of it was necessary. I've managed to sell a lot of what I no longer wear on eBay. With the crummy uploads & FUG, I've only managed to fall in love with and purchase one item (Stress Less Hoodie). While I miss the excitement of all the must haves on upload night... I must say, all of the extra cash I'm not spending + the money from selling the used stuff has put nearly $3K in my savings account since January 1st.

Anonymous said...

The Pleat On shirt would be great if there were no sleeves, maybe a spaghetti strap? Not for working out though!
Love the new green - will have to have some of that! Feeling incredibly wealthy this month - I think I have spent maybe $150 in total! :)

Anonymous said...

Will I EVER be able to spend any of my $300 gift card?! UGH. Where's the cute/functional stuff?!

Anonymous said...

Sick of pastels, sick of inferior, ugly casual wear, sick of the absolute lack of decent basics. This company is, at this point, an exercise in how not to make money. I would buy a CRB every week if they released actual good colors and not just stripes in colors no one wants. Surely they're not so obtuse as to realize that their basics are what people actually want to use as both athletic and casual wear...

LLA, you really are a trooper to keep following Lululemon. I loyally check in every Tuesday for the upload, and I watch your post daily, hoping to see the things that made me love Lulu years ago…but it just isn't happening. Thank you for your perseverance, but maybe it's time to find another brand? At least for me it is!

Anonymous said...

I asked for more pleats but PLEASE!! That top looks like it belongs on the star trek enterprise! Should be called-beam me up Pleat! Ugh! Totally missed the mark for me!!

Like the new green and the adjustable All Sport bra - finally a good idea.

As for the fug, your warning made me laugh. Oh what fug it is. LOL as I was reading I just knew someone was going to say they like the fug and that Pleat blouse. Come on! I suspect LLL plants posted those comments, but anyway.

As for multi purpose, practical stuff you can wear to work, as pointed out already, other retailers already offer such pieces and they are FAR more stylish that this fug, the blouses and dresses etc.

Lisa H - good for you. I am always very selective about what I buy from LLL (check uploads but rarely buy anything right away and definitely not every week). However, I had accumulated a lot over the years. Did the same as you towards the end of 2014 and made me very happy on the "return" I made and the relief of getting rid of stuff. LLA always reminds us how great LLL is on resale and it is true! I was impressed with how my stuff moved quickly! (I sold stuff locally)

@ anon 4:05 pm - I keep waiting for them to turn it around and go back to the good old days. Waiting...and waiting, lol. Good thing I am mostly sweating by running these days and have kind of segued over to using tanks and bras and away from tanks with built in bras, so the 105F/Studio Racerback/Swiftly tanks satisfy me. The biggest problem for me with other brands is the fit but I should try a couple of other brands on again.

Anonymous said...

I agree with melody. some of the street to gym is really useful for people who don't have a lot of time to bring different changes of clothing. The pleats on the top could be better designed though.

I also see this trend getting really popular, it's not going to go away.

Ummmm, just a warning. More FUG is coming. I spoke to an educator who told me that there is a big push into the "casual wear" market. This is all horrible. I would actively be horrified for anyone I saw wearing the pleated atrocity or the plank thing. Gah! Heidi Klum could not pull that shit off!

Anonymous said...

I too am in the minority. I have bought several of the & Go line pieces and wear them to work all the time (effortless dress, get it on blouse, here to there tanks, out of this world long sleeve). I sometimes work 12-16 hour days and sit in very long meetings - sometimes up to 6 hours long - so comfortable clothes are a must. The stretch in these items is fantastic and they don't wrinkle so I don't look like a hot mess at the end of a very long day. Not sure I like these particular pieces above however. The other brands I have tried put zero stretch in their shirts - BR I'm talking about you - and I can't get out of the darn things. Plus their tops don't breathe because they are 100% polyester.

Interesting on the hop to it crops. I added them to my bag to see if they come up final sale and they do not.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 1028 am - I get the push into more casual wear but not so much the "office" wear stuff, especially when the technical side (coughtankscough) could use beefing up. I definitely have bought more sweaters than ever before. It's probably the swim fabric tops that I have the biggest issue with since the styling on those pieces has been awful. I wear a ton of casual pieces - vitasea/cotton tees/tops, DSPs, cotton bottoms, sweaters - all the time.

Anonymous said...

I have some of the casual wear: noir dress (wanted refresher racer but wasn't sold online until winter!!), out of this world dress, peplum top. I think the problem is that there is TOO MUCH of the casual stuff, and much of it is not successful. Just look at WMTM at the amount of drop-crotch pants there. Id love a pair of cute, casual, jean-like black luon pants without pleats, bizarre seams, extra zippers, etc. Lulu is over designing the casual stuff. Part of the appeal of the basic workout stuff is the simplicity: wup without a million seams, crb, scuba. If they could do it well, I understand a *few* lab items, but they are doing too many and the designs are not good.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 6:40 am - Yes! Over designing for sure. I definitely love a simple clean design (has to be a great cut/shape) with a quirky eye-catching feature or in an interesting fabric/print. Like the Camp Check Savasana Soft-shell jacket. Love that piece - simple and very nicely done.
