Better Fill Out the Loan App...

lululemon sweater once a day price tag
OMFG! $248!! I was liking the looks of the Sweat-Er Once A Day Jacket until this. I guess merino is pricey but, Damn! (Thanks to Ms. G. for the photo - love the nails!)

I call BS on merino being THAT expensive, though. I have several Patagonia merino wool sweaters that I purchased for between $50-$100. Many dedicated outdoors brands sell nice wool sweaters in that price range. I'm not sure how Lulu thinks they're going to sell these??

They're pricing is getting a little out of control, wouldn't you say?!

It is 228 POUNDS here in the UK. What the eff??? That is like $400 pretty much in Canada!! I hope not one person buys that stupid thing.

Are you kidding me? And it's hand wash - that's crazy!

Best. Joke. Ever.

The other sweater - Sweater the Better - is cotton and has been restickered to $98 in the stores though I read a report it's ringing up in the stores at $118. I've seen a try on photo of both and they're both cute.

My first thought was, "that is completely outrageous!" However, comparable pieces from Smartwool and Patagonia are in the same price range. If the quality is there (which is a big "if" these days), $248 may not be too unreasonable.

Forget it! Lululemon is or....was good.
From now on I am going elsewhere.

It does look nicely made - it has a double hood and cuffins - I have photos coming momentarily. I think $248 is a big pill for people to swallow. If I lived in a colder climate and didn't find merino itchy I'd be more inclined to consider it.

Honestly though with the prices going up and the quality going down I feel like a fool paying lulu money. Everyone keeps complaining about loose strings and seams coming undone and I just keep pretending it's not real!! My last 3 purchases are all falling apart, flip your dog long sleeve, my new Bordeaux cotton wunder unders and my om tShirt I just got has loose strings all over it and nothing lately is sewn properly. Seriously what is the deal? Lulu addict do you know what's happened to the good old lulu? I keep pretending it's a one off but it really isn't. Sorry that's my rant ladies !!

I bought the vestigan sweater at full price only for it to go down less than a week later by $55. I called Lulu & told them I was already aware that they don't do price adjustments. I told them that in this instance, they are going to give me a price adjustment!! The girl put me on hold for five minutes and then came back and said yes she sees that I bought my sweater less than a week ago and will credit back to my visa my $55. lululemon is stealing people! :(

Hilarious LLA. I saw the post above this with the price tag before I saw your title on the loan and omfg. Exactly what I thought haha. As if! Smoke another one at HQ, LLL. It would not surprise me if this got marked down immediately (regardless of the merino). I don't care what they price it at, definitely won't touch it.

@ Lee in the UK....the price in Canada is crazy, but 228 pounds is madness!!!
Aritzia (here in Canada) has a beautiful selection of wool sweaters and cardis for considerably less.

For that same price I recently bought TWO Icelandic wool sweaters (I was in Iceland last month) that are much more durable and higher quality than anything Lulu is currently producing! Absolutely preposterous!

this is insane. Thank God I live in a tropical country. Their quality is really getting back. Recently, my CRB got piled after 1 wash. =(

I think the design is really cute! I'll pay that price if it's cashmere.

The absolute best would be if it's made of cashmere-silk, but LLM would probably charge $1,000 for THAT. :)

Merino wool? Nah. Not as soft and itchy as hell.

i do think a similar icebreaker sweater would run about that much, but they are really pricey. that said, wouldn't buy that at full price, nor the lulu version! and i am willing to spend on outdoor/exercise clothes.

Athleta has a really nice cashmere sweater right now for $198. In the not so distant past, athleta and lulu were actually priced quite closely. Lulu got the flak, but full- priced athleta isn't cheap either! Athleta has tons of sales, of course, but a support running top, or tank, or swimsuit, etc was very similar. Not any more!! Lulu prices are officially offensive. I feel like a sucker at this point. It's embarrassing that I am almost considering over $100 for yoga pants!!

that sweater is ugly and the price is just a straight rip off. I really hope people don't fall for this item. it doesn't even look like it's well made. Icebreaker and patagonia have far better sweaters and wool items.

First off the design isn't that impressive at all. Second off the price is hellacious! Athleta isn't even charging that much for their cashmere sweaters this season. And for those of you saying that it is on par with what brands like Patagonia charge, I call bullsh*t: http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/womens-lightweight-merino-hoody?p=50480-0

similar patagonia products are $100 less

The sweater is actually very well made with cool designs. I bought it in dark green and I am happy with my purchase. It's priced high but I have seen sweaters of this quality at higher end places at equivalent prices of not higher. I'm quite content with my purchase and would suggest you check it out in person and try it and perhaps you'll understand it value.
