Mesh for Sea Wheeze? And a hospital gown top? GTFO. |
Some Sea Wheeze merchandise photos have popped up on social media. (Thanks to Ms. C. for the heads up.) In my Sea Wheeze facebook group the overwhelming response to the photos has been "meh." I like the tie-tye top but am thinking the drape of it makes it look like it's made of Swift which is a no go for me in tops. The Inspires have a Nike look to them. I like the pink top (CRB?) with the black and white stripes but I am a major sucker for a Good N Plenty color scheme.
UPDATE - more photos found here (Thanks to Ms. B. for the link.):

Crossing fingers the top is not Swift. |

Meh is right!!! I like the CRB with the stripes as well. I don't know how those inspires will look on my muscular legs. Guess I'll have to wait and see!! I love shopping at the SW store but if this is all they've got going on, at least my wallet may be much safer then the last two years!! Excited for the event and the weekend tho!!
I like the pink tank with the black & white striped back.
The black & white speeds (?) look cute too :)
OT:
At what time was the WMTM upload today?
Do you think it was the "big" upload for the week?
Argh! I totally missed out on the blue tropics WAFS bra that actually wanted to buy at full price! Seriously, it was in my cart from earlier this morning & I went back to the site to purchase & it was out of stock!
That's how I noticed new things were uploaded to WMTM!
That's how I noticed
Hi! Just wondering why you don't like Swift for tops? I don't have any, just curious. Thanks!
What a whole lot of boring and a whole lot of ugly. That tye-dye skirt/bubblegum pink top combo reminds me of the 70's and kindergarten dresses I wore. No thanks. Ewww. Nike did the abstract thing about 2 years ago - nothing cutting edge there either.
Guess i'll be saving a whole lot of moolah and it will end up being just like every other race i've done - nothing to set it apart. I was hoping SeaWheeze would be different with something "special" attached to it since I like (or used to) their clothing lines.
Love those inspires.............<3
Off-topic… I usually get my stuff delivered to my husband's work address… And today he received a surprise gift with two pairs of wonder under crops… Anyone else?
I hope that black and white men's short is a Pacebreaker!
My girl friend is going up to SW but I don't think she'll stand in line early enough to make sure all sizes are still there...
OT : WMTM Canada was really bad. There were two sets of sales and both were not interesting and at a weird time. Wish lulu was less into playing games and more into respect to regular customers. Oh, well.... Maybe they are getting rid of all the ugly bras because they are bringing in all the amazing bras- like free to be wild in variety of colors, free to be in green camo, some forest green, bruised berry, plum in solids, herringbone bras , and some sexy push-up bras with low coverage yet thick straps so there is no digging....lol
Excellent, nothing desirable = money saved.
Add me to the meh crowd.
Ugh. I'm doing Seawheeze for the first time this year, and it has been nothing special so far. Registration was a disaster, the app is pretty useless, the shorts were just meh (not wild about the pattern compared to previous years), and now all of the race merchandise looks pretty uninspiring to me. I definitely won't be doing it again, as there are tons of other races that offer a much better experience for the $$$.
in case anyone's curious. these pictures are all from the ssc (corporate office). "models" are just employees.
Does anyone know if the skirt was a Pace Setter? I am not wowed by what is there, but since I know the SW store has about 5 different varieties per item, I hold out hope that the other four colour offerings will be something that wows.
@ anon 10:58 pm - No, no. Don't give up hope yet. You haven't even run it yet so you can't comment on the experience yet. (Disney races have crashed the Active site numerous times of sign up days.) The race itself is a lot of fun. Very beautiful setting and interesting route. The entertainment on the course is varied and interesting and there is a yummy brunch after. The energy of the race and the whole weekend is great. Vancouver is a beautiful city to visit. You will not regret signing up.
lulu is totally missing the mark lately. While I think that these items would look good on someone, I dont think it would look good on the majority of the women who wear lulu. Where are the prints that made me fall in love with lulu??
Also - look at it this way. Money saved on merchandise means more for post-race adult beverages. ;-)
So will this merchandise hit stores or just be available to Sea Wheeze participants?
@ 5:53 PM, SW merchandise exclusive to the SW store and not just participants. Locals can buy too and year 1, they (and participants) pretty much did on the first day. Year 1 "missing" SW shipment was found later and was sold in Australia only.
Subsequent years they have sometimes later on released some similar looking items, e.g. tracker shorts or whatever.
I did enjoy year 1 of SW and the post-race food by Bearfoot Bistro was the best I've ever had for a race.
Vancouver is absolutely a beautiful and amazing place to visit and run (walk, cycle etc). I'm Canadian and I visit often. As for SW...yes, run it if you wish. I'm over the hype. Vancouver hosts many other races that will treat you just as well (BMO and Scotiabank races to name just two) and give you the awesome experience of racing there. For the first time this year, they have the Rock n Roll event in October. Also, don't get me started if you want to run a race in Whistler and other hot spots, those sell out pretty much immediately!
