Store Trip Report - Striped Swiftly Tank Fit Comments

Old Coco Pique on left  and new Coco Pique on the right
I went to the store for a quickie trip to return the Gratitude Wrap (it's the third release and I still can't warm up to the style) and the Feel Good pants I ordered the other day (the new Feel Goods are thinner and don't feel as good as the originals and I figured my Base Runner pants work just as well for comfy lounge wear with the bonus I can use them technically as a warm up layer over my running crops). I was able to snag a pair of returned Coco Pique Wunder Under Pants. All my local stores are selling out of them and I can't recall if these have been uploaded or not. Most people say they haven't but that Europe recently got them so maybe we will. I recall trying on the Coco Pique WUPs last year and not loving them but these seem very soft and thick this time around. They are very similar to herringbone or the mini check pique in softness and warmth and are fully opaque. They are also great at covering dimples and the print seems elongating, so a winner all the way around. I think they are kind of hot for a workout pant but for casual wear, awesome.

I also wanted to try on the new black striped and white striped swiftly tops. My store had the short sleeve and tanks in. These were soft swiftlys but I didn't think they were super soft like my heathered soot one. One thing I would like you to be aware of is that the fit on these tanks is different from regular swiftly tanks. I thought I spotted it in the photos I posted yesterday but wrote it off to a body-type issue but after trying them on there is definitely a fit difference in the armholes and neckline. You can see in the above photos the neck does not scoop as low and the arm holes hit higher, too. I typically take an 8 in Swiftly tanks and find a 10 Swiftly tank very loose in the chest area which tends to slip down and show my bra as I run but in the Black and White striped tanks I had to size up to a 10. It also fits a lot snugger across the chest. Here are some web model photos to show the differences:

Inkwell Swiftly
The dip on the neck seems about the same in these photos (it was more noticeable when I tried it on) but you can see the armhole is a bit lower - showing more skin in that area - on the Inkwell than the two striped Swiftlys.

It's pretty subtle but the racerback looks a bit longer in the Inkwell than the two striped ones.

Anyway, I ended up going home with the short sleeve Black Striped Swiftly. That one fit the same as all my other SS Swiftlys.

I also tried on the Paris Perfection No Limit Tank and was tempted to take it home since it's very pretty but I just bought the Raspberry NLT and felt that Raspberry suited me better and I could live without the Paris.

Thank you for this! I was going to order one of the tanks but I loathe tiny armholes.

Uhhh, Coco Pique looks exactly the same as last year's version that recalled. What exactly did they change to make the fabric acceptable?

I have been stalking these and have not seen them online so I am hoping they will show up soon (please!). I have these in crops from last year that I love but really want these in pants. Good for you finding them!

Strange, I had to return the ruffle CRB because the armholes were cut too high and it bothered me.

@ anon 6:19 pm - Wasn't it the diamond texture WUs that got recalled, not the coco pique ones?

One friend who has last year's coco pique says this years is softer and less woven feeling.

LLA, could you please let everyone know when and where we can buy these Coco Piqué WUP they're so perfect to wear casually. Thank you!

Last years were very thin and sort of cheap feeling like this years black pique, but I dont think they got recalled?

Has anyone seen the coco pique in Ontario? I haven't seen it online either, fingers crossed for Monday nights upload!!

OT but will I ever see the pique neck warmer online? My store only got the ear warmer headband thing and I never saw the neck warmer in an upload.

LLA, Anon at 6:19 pm here. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but for some reason I remember quality issues with the Coco Pique WUs. She may be referring to the Diamond Texture WUs, but see the 2nd to last comment in this post http://luluaddict.blogspot.com/2012/11/wunder-under-pants-cross-stitch.html

@ anon 6:16 pm - yeah, it was one of the most oddest fitting swiftly tanks I've tried ever, I think. They are a staple of my run wardrobe - I think I am up to 10 now - so I'm very familiar with them.

Hi, this is OT, but the energy bras have been "re-sized". I got size 2 from the summer release of energy bras, before when they didn't have size 2 in energy bra and I tried on the size 4 they were always a bit too big, especially around the straps. With this release of energy bras (they no longer make size 2) I can wear size 4...why? Because the straps at the back are the exact same length as the size 2! the band at the bottom is a little bit bigger though, by about 1/1.5cm, but still fits great. Anyways, just thought I'd give other people who like the energy bra a heads up.

I returned my ruffle CRB too, and for the same reason anon @ 6:45 gave: it was cute but was an odd fit. The straps seemed tighter and closer, almost halter-ish, definitely different than my other CRBs.

Actually I exchanged it for the Paris NLT, and can't wait to wear it. Such a pretty pink, and the No Limits is one of my favorites.

One last thing, I tried on the GW in dark zin, and was pleasantly surprised by how cute it was. I thought it looked like a sack in pictures, but in person it was pretty, though I liked the white the best. I tried the 4 and found it flattering. 5'2, 115, 34D for reference.

Didn't buy it and am contemplating going back tomorrow. Didn't get the hype and now I can't stop thinking about it haha.

I love my coco pique skinny wills from last year-I can't wait to get some more coco pique this year.

@ anon 7:36 pm - I will. I know a ton of people are on the lookout for these.

That's weird. I tried the pique pants last week at my store (maybe it wasn't the coco pique? I didn't look, but it was pique pattern). I thought they were very thin and unforgiving. I have the herringbone ones and they are thick, look great and very flattering. I wonder if quality varies in these?

Thankyou so much for the heads up about the swiftlys I ordered the white stripe tank in this on Thursday and I live three hours from A store so I rely on reviews and insight I can get here before I buy things, I will be trying this on before the tags come off.
Thanks again:)

Very cute swiftly tank tops but those are seriously the worst "running" shirts ever. They grow with sweat! No real runner was ever consulted when these shirts were developed. They are horrid! Last time I wore one I took it off and chucked it directly into the trash can.

3:45 I run in my swiftly tank during the summer NYC, I also do hot yoga in them and sweat a lot. didn't notice them stretching or growing to the point of wanting to toss them. I don't like tight tops when I run though.

I'm a "real runner", and I like my Swiftlys. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I haven't run a marathon in one, because I either wear my running club or Marathon Maniac singlet, but I've used them for long runs and track--so sweaty workouts. I like that I cannot make them stink. Hubby loves his as well, and he's a "real runner" too. We both wear the singlets, SS and LS.

Oh, and hubby wears his Swiftlys for marathons. He wore one for last year's Boston Marathon. I just haven't worn one for a marathon.

@ anon 3:45 am - I know they do tend to get heavy with sweat and stretch a bit but I've never soaked one through - usually just the upper back and armpit area. My bra absorbs my chest sweat and it's too loose on the waist to absorb sweat there. I know my husband can soak one of these running at the gym but do you run indoors for miles and miles at a time because when I run outside the ambient air does a good job of drying off a lot of the moisture I generate as I run. There must some times of year you can use them. I guess you could be pouring water over your head, though, and then all bets are off.

@ anon 8:43am - the no stink thing is awesome. It makes them great for working on vacation when you can't launder in between workouts/runs. I noticed it made a big difference in stink when my husband wears one of these to the gym vs. his other brands of shirts.

Coco pique WUP have NOT been uploaded in Canada yet..I've been stalking website for it. Hoping for Mondays upload they will arrive. I love my Pique daily yoga jacket & headband.
OT: Yesterday I just remembered I have a St moritz jacket from last year that I need to dig out of a box somewhere.. they are so incredibly soft warm & comfy.

I bought coco pique WU in Ottawa earlier this week.

I picked up the last pair of Coco Pique WU's in size 6 at my store last week. Not as thrilled with them as I thought I would be. Herringbone ones are way more flattering on my figure. Coco pique's will likely be going back; I'm sure someone will snap them up within minutes.

There were plenty of coco pique WU in santa monica last week. Mine that is a week old has white fuzzy things coming out of the white part. I haven't washed them yet....just wore them 3 days in a row.
Is it starting to pill? Is it defective? I honestly don't mind the white fuzzy stuff that started forming, since the pants are warm and soft.

aloha! i just purchased a pair of cocoa pique WUs from my local ala moana store LAST week saturday. didn't realize they were never uploaded online, i just thought i missed the boat and they sold out. but they are WAY better than the black pique, which feels very cheap and thin in comparison to the cocoa. cocoa is VERY soft and pretty thick. does anyone know when the parallel stripe scuba is expected to upload online?
