FYI - I went to a store in D.C. store today and the Fluffoff Pullover was marked down to $134 already! They had all three colors still.

They also had the Keep It Up Pant. They were thick, great reflectivity on the calf, and looked stylish without being too bulky. If you're looking for heavy weight winter running pants, I'd check them out. (I only passed because of how much Lulu has gotten from me this fall and I have 2 pairs of Craft pants, which are not as cute.)

Picked up a Pique Vinyasa, which now makes me wish I got the WUP in Pique too!

Also saw the Practice Daily pant - wow, they are gorgeous! I remember some people saying these were sheer. How are other people liking them? Would love some feedback from people who've had them for a week or 2.

Lululemon does not make decent knitwear - every piece I own has snags or holes, and pills like crazy. One wear and it looks old. The only reason I have more than one is that the styles are cute and flattering, but not the passage sweater! Frumpy!!

@ anon 12:45 pm - I have yet to buy a piece of lulu knitwear myself. It always seems so fragile to me. My recent favorite sweater brand is Free People but their stuff has been bizarre this year.

Am I the only one who thinks the passage sweater is so unflattering, especially the black and white combo? Every picture I see makes the wearer look pregnant with that black curved band on the bottom. I really like the color combo but that curved band on the bottom makes a pregnancy belly on women who have no belly whatsoever!

I looooove the Practice Daily pant! The aren't sheer at all and the seams are super flattering. They are nice and thick so they suck everything in! Highly recommend!! :)

I have been spending too much.

I bought the GW in inkwell and black. I bought sz 2 in both and they TTS - I would not size down since the arms will be very snug. I length is slightly long and poofs out even when cinched, but I am only 5'1 (103 lbs).

I also bought the PC PO and am loving it. Soo soft and comfy. The only criticism is that LLL should have released a 2 also. I don't understand why they pick random designs to lack a 2, especially if they run bigger. The PO is bigger in the body, but it allows me to layer. I wore a power y with a LS swiftly and it was perfect for 40 degree weather.

I also purchased WUP in coco pique and black pique luon. Coco pique is incredibly soft and feels exactly the same as last year's version. It may be a little bit softer and thicker, however, I feel like this is because it's brand new compared to my last year's version which has seen some action. The pique luon is also very soft and is not see-through for me at all. I feel like it could be a little more compressive, but I am been obsessed with my full-on luons. Both the coco and pique luon WUP are equally compressive IMO.

I purchased swiftlys in white with black stripes swiftly tank, black with white stripes swiftly tank, heathered orchid LS, and black with white stripes LS. Loving them all! The winter orchid is so pretty and the striped ones will go with everything and anything. They may look a little hypnotic online but are beautiful in person. I will definitely purchase the LS white with black stripes the second it is released.

I also think I will purchase another PC PO. I have worn mine everyday since I've gotten the black one. Love!

I am not easy on my knits, I agree the LLL stuff seems to always have a loose weave and looks like it will snap very easily, making it an easy pass for me.

I got the black pique wunder unders yesterday and i think they are going back because they are giving me MAJOR CT. I really wish they would bring back the oval gusset, the triangle just isn't the same. I'm sad because I love the pants otherwise.

On another note, why isn't there a raspberry CRB or a guava lava CRB or power y? I love those colors.

GW question...to those of you with a previous release...do the arms relax at all? I really want to size down for the body and the sleeves are ok, but I prefer the arms on my regular size. I'm hoping the sleeves in my size down would give a little over time but I'm guessing they probably wouldn't. TIA!

I was feeling sorry for myself that I couldn't find the Knit Happens Scarf in zinfandel, so off on the hunt I went. I was travelling for work so stopped in at 3 stores and no luck. I did find one of the Eds wearing the scarf. She commented on how much she loved it and wore it all the time. During our conversation I couldn't help but notice how worn and tatty the scarf looked (imo worn and tatty should only apply to well loved teddy bears). I skipped out of the store considering myself very lucky to have saved $80 and a load of disappointment about the scarf.

I relay this story as I believe the Passage sweater is similar knit to the Knit Happens Scarf. I have concerns that it will not wear well. In addition, the Passage sweater is not flattering.

Ladies, what's the deal with washing the GW? I guess I'm just afraid it's going to die in the wash... That would horrifying. Should I put it in a laundry bag? I know cold wash/delicate...dryer? Yay nay? Thanks in advance!

I love love love my Chai Time sweater. I am so mad that I only realized how awesome it is after it was sold out and I couldn't buy any other colors.
I have washed it at least 15 times and it is looking great.

I ordered the passage and it should be here tomorrow! $128 is a lot for a sweater, I'll need to love it to justify keeping it

My Passage Sweater arrived today. It's quite blah and waay overpriced for an oversized grandpa sweater. I'm 5'8 and it barely covers my bum. I sized down to a 2 (I'm normally a 4 in defines). For $100+ I can find so many other cuter and much more flattering options.

@ anon 3:24 pm - I would dry it as low as possible to prevent fading.

This is OT but I want to share my experience with Yogasmoga in case some of you out there run into similar issues. I took advantage of the promo code for Yogasmoga over the Thanksgiving weekend (thanks LLA!) and purchased black ballerina legging, coral tickle me tank, grey cavier run jump 'n play crop, mosaic grey twistie tank in size 4 (5'1, 34B, 106lb). The size is right on. I love the black legging; it is softer than the previous production yet still opaque and compressive. The tickle me tank is adorable, style is similar to the NLT but fit much better on a shortie like me. The twistie tank straps are thin and cut into my shoulders. The grey crop is too soft that it is not compressive at all for me. Rose was very helpful when I emailed and called. I found out that the softness/compression varies from color to color. Rose actually felt the different fabrics for me when I asked. Black and midnight blue are similar while Grey cavier is much softer. She allowed me to exchange for the midnight blue ballerina legging and midnight blue run jump crop even though my purchases were final sales. Wonderful customer service! Oh, by the way, I was going to get the shorts but I was told that they are not part of the promotion.

I actually think the Passage Sweater in the black/white is appealing. But I'm not going to buy it because LLL does not do knits well.

I have two beautiful sweaters from Banana Republic's Heritage Collection that I got on markdown or sale or promo. They are dressy casual, elegant and very well made. I get compliments each time I wear them and I have to tell people they're 3 years old and not available.

Has anyone washed their Pure Balance sweater yet? I picked up an 8 and 10 in the Zinfandel/winter orchid, but I'm torn about which size to keep. 8 fits perfect, but this is my first boolux piece and I don't know what to expect after washing? Will it shrink? I normally wash cold delicate and dry flat. Would love some feedback :)

I went to the store today to try on the grey passage sweater and fell in LOVE! I think it's safe to say it is more of a "fashion trend" piece (i.e. meant to be oversized and paired with leggings or WUP and a good pair of boots). I hate to say it but it is more flattering on a slimmer frame (not necessarily stick figure but slim) given it's oversized styling. A lot of the eds were wearing them and the one at the cash said they
received them yesterday and there were barely any in the store.
As for LLL knit wear, I have chai time pullovers that are years old and they still look good (minimal pilling given they are a bit tight on my arms). That's why I had no problem purchasing the Passage. I think it's all in how you take care of it.

I also own 3 GW's prior to my deep zinf and never really put them in the dryer unless the arms aren't dried (after I've laid them flat to dry). And I don't find the arms loosen over time (they stay SNUG!).

OT but does anyone have experience getting the leg of inspires taken in? I am a shortie (5'3") and just got the SE inspires and love them, except the bottom is baggy on my calf since it goes past the largest portion of my calf and doesn't taper in as much as WUCs. I went to lulu and they said they only do straight hems, so unless I took 2 or more inches off the bottom, it would still be big, and that would ruin the beautiful lace design. I'm nervous to get a random seamstress to try and just taper the leg in, and would love to know if anyone has tried this and how they turned out? Thanks!

@ anon 5:13 pm - did you have to pay shipping for shipping both ways (i.e., return and to ship out to you) to be able to exchange? I know someone else who felt the gray crops she ordered were too sheer and too big and she was told she needs to pay for shipping both ways.

Anonymous said...

LLA, I have to pay for shipping both ways plus the difference in the cost. I still think it is a good deal with the promo. I am looking forward to the softer and still compressive crop and legging in the beautiful midnight blue!

Thank you anon 5:13 - I also ordered the grey run jump n play crops last weekend with the special offer and feel they are not compressive enough and are too sheer to wear to work out in. I am 5'4" and 115 lbs. I haven't had a chance to call or email but did go to their website and it says free returns but perhaps not on our purchase since it was the special promo.

Anxiously awaiting the arrival of my first pair of athleta crops today. I had been unwilling to try other brands but after all the crops I have been buying from lulu have been sheer and unwearable I'm finally taking the plunge. I crossfit and am curious to hear which crops you ladies find the best for that from athleta.

Thanks.

Anon 2:32, I have both the zinfandel Knit Happens scarf and the passage sweater, and the knits are not the same at all. The passage sweater is a very loose knit of the kind that snags easily. I think it's attractive, but I'm not enamored of the black/gray, I'm tough on my clothes so I'm sure I'll snag it, and so I'm going to be sending it back. The Knit Happens is tightly knit, not loose at all. I LOVE it. Like the educator you spoke to, I've been wearing it non-stop since it arrived several weeks ago. Mine doesn't look tatty at all - no pilling, no fraying, nothing. It looks exactly the same as the day it arrived, and I get compliments on it all the time.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 5:01 am - the midnight blue is nice. I didn't find the bottoms nearly as compressive as the first time around but that makes them easier to wear longer, imo.

@anon3:24
Hand wash cold water. For the first couple of washes include a half a cup of WHITE vinegar. Vinegar acts as a colour fix that will prevent colour bleed in further washing. Rinse it well in cold water afterward or you will smell like chips (hey I'm Canadian - we like vinegar on our fries).

I would not advise using the dryer at all. No matter what temp you use your clothes will fade and the fabric will break down after time. Good luck!

On an earlier post (the one with the Parallel Stripe Scuba), someone mentioned getting a PM about the laceoflage scuba (from a year ago)...and speaking of laceoflage ...I saw two random laceoflage scubas at Vaughan Mills (Toronto) on Thursday. They even had the beaming blue inner ribbon detail. They were not marked down, but were on the scuba table. I thought they were being cheeky, putting old stock out for full price!
