Enough of this Fluff Off stuff that is totally irrelevant to my climate and workout needs, lol - New Speed shorts in Raspberry Gros Gingham, paired with a Raspberry Swiftly (want!) and the Raspberry Push UR Limits.
Also new are the Beautiful Baroque Inkwell Speed Shorts - super pretty! I wonder if these are coming in Groovy Runs, too.
The new Fluff Off Run hat. Some people think they look goofy but I have a down hat similar to this for skiing and it's just marvelous for keeping your head warm.
I would guess these Base Runners are both in these women's typical top size. So, if you don't like your tops this clingy then size up in the Base Runner.
I really like the Surge/Inkwell Base Runner LS/ White Vest combo.

Too bad the Power Y's don't fit like the Original. I have a closet full of the original y's with luon and they are my favorite tank by far but now the bra band and cups are sized too small and way too long :(
I sure hope they take note and go back to the original fit with the original luon!
Hi! I was wondering if the new luon power y's will be the same length as the luon light or if they will go back to the previous shorter version? I'm probably one of the only people bummed they're switching back :(
OT - I just can't get into the Fleecy Keen Jacket. The shoulders look weird where they join the body of the jacket. And it looks like they took every detail of every jacket they've had in the last year and used it on this jacket. It just has so much going on, it makes it look fussy and as Nina Garcia would say, over-wrought. LOL They definitely needed to edit themselves.
I did order the Deep Zin Knit happens hat and the Deep Zin vest. I got the vest in a 10, I hope it isn't a size up item. I wish it didn't take stuff so long to get to the east coast.
On the plus side, my car is supposed to be released from the body shop aka car hospital and I'll be able to visit my local store again. I've been on a hiatus since right before Halloween due to work travel and having to drive my husbands ginormous truck while mine is being repaired.
I hope all my fellow Lulu Addicts have been well.
MacFrannie
I saw the base runner at Union Square NYC store and the material feels soft and is thick, but it seems delicate. I wanted to get the pink no limits, but they didn't have it in yet. I must say that the surge and zinfandel colors are amazing in person.

@ anon 10:38 am - Let me take a look after I get back home. I'll make some measurements on an older Power Y I have.
I bought both of the speeds on the last upload because they're so cute!
i wonder if the shorts are 2 way stretch or 4 way
I personally can't stand these new longer lengths!! They are NOT flattering! I haven't bought a tank since these new loooonnnnggggg lengths came in. The same with some of the pullovers :( Why are they so long??!!
The new power Y Luon are longer than the original, however, they are a tighter fit, especially at the hips. That's perfect for me so they stay down when you are bending over. The luon light are too loose on the bottom for me, but I am a size 6 top and 4 bottom. I'm thrilled they are going back.
anon @ 10:52:
nope, me too, totally bummed, I much prefer the luon light power Y, I need the longer length (and I am 5ft tall, it's just a style preference).
that said, if the luon versions keep the cut of the luon light versions that will be just fine with me. but then everyone else will think it was pointless to switch back :)
I picked up a few items from my local store today. My advice: try on before buying AND keep tags on unless you're sure. I sized up on the fluff off jacket, sized down on open your hearts LS and bought my usual size in a base runner LS. I'm 5'7", 160 , A cup, and can typically buy a 10 and expect a consistent fit. I have to say that the quality seems great for these items and leads me to hope Lulu is heading back in the right direction.
The raspberry speed shorts are 2 way stretch and cut weird. The waist is very constrictive. I wish lululemon would make more prints in the 4 way stretch. Moreover, I wish lululemon would be more consistent in their sizes. Hot mess.
OT but Alo and Victoria have great athletic wea
I had ordered & returned the aquamarine luon power y. I found it shorter than recent luon light power y purchase (eg. angel wing hyperstripe).
@Mac Frannie - I agree about the Fleecy Keen jacket. I liked it the least of any I tried on.
The power Y's in these photos look like a mini dress on this model! I personally don't mind them being long but this seems a bit excessive. I'll be happy that they are returning to luon. A heathered blue power y was my first LLL tank purchase and they are a great staple although I rarely wear it nowadays because I'm not crazy about the color.
Saw the new speeds in store today. The raspberry ones just seem dingy to me but the BB print is really beautiful. I did not try on but the BB felt like 4 way stretch where the rasp were 2 way.
Also, I felt the aria tank and like the thickness of it over the Push Ur Limits tank which felt very thin to me. I like the thicker tanks that hold you in.
Personally I'm not into the down items since I already have two down winter coats and a vest.
@ MacFrannie (and LLA), agree on the Fleecy Keen jacket. It's too much. Nice Nina Garcia reference and Tim would have told them to edit.
I'm a sucker for the better looking speed shorts, so Beautiful Baroque Inkwell Speed Short may come home. I'm shopping tomorrow: aim is to try on (and take home some of) SS, Surge CRB (kinda a slam dunk), base runner l/s, hot cheeks short (even have 2 pairs of running tights in my bag to take with me tomorrow to try on with HC short).
Ordered the bb speeds... Hope they are 4 way stretch! Anyone know??
Could that base runner shirt be any tighter? Ugh! Please, the models need to wear more appropriately sized clothes in so many of these photos.
Hi....I went to my store today fully expecting to leave with a fluff off vest....and to hate the Fleecy Keen jacket.....espicially after all the reviews....guess what? maybe I'm crazy, but I loved that jacket in the inkwell and I didn't find it overdone at all. for reference I like pretty basic and definitely simple. I did have to size up. I absolutely love it....I just thought I would put that out there for anyone whonmay be contemplating it. I also got a base runner shirt ( sized up ) and the pants (tts). In all due respect to Ms. Garcia....I would have to ask her to reconsider....it's cute, perfect for Seattle weather, and a keeper :)
I really want a pair of the base runner pants, but can't get on board with the price! Anyone have reviews on the pants?
Btw, there is a Yogasmoga sale on Gilt.com tonight. Eager to see what prices items will go for!
I just got back from my store. I bought the Beautiful Baroque inkwell speeds because they were 4 way stretch, woohoo! The raspberry are 2 way.
I ordered the down pullover jackets in surge and Zinfandel on Monday, and they were waiting on my porch when I got home. They are super cute, they do run narrow in the body (If you want to layer at all, then size up). I tried them on (I got a 4 and a 6 because of Lulu's sizing issues). I tried them on with the new surge and inkwell striped Base Runner that came in the same order. I felt like my TTS 4 fit better than the 6 (sleeves were way too long in the 6, and the bust looked funny in the bigger size--maybe because there's such a greater disparity between the zin and the pique contrast panels?
I'm definitely returning the 6 and may also return the 4. I ordered Ivivva's Rulu/down jacket that was uploaded last night (deep zin and pique as well). It should be here tomorrow. I stopped at the store, and it looks super cute, so if it fits ok, I'll keep that and return the Lulu surge down po.
I also ordered a couple other cute tops from Ivivva.
As far as the Base Runner tops, it's hard to believe that Lulu is charging the same price for the surge/inkwell striped and the zin and raspberry piques. The piques are so much thicker and cozier. They run more snug than the surge/inkwell (which is a lot thinner than Rulu tops from earlier years). It seems more worthwhile to spend $88 for the thicker cozier ones (which are really pretty). However, the surge/inkwell is sooo darn cute! And I tend to run hot anyways, so I don't think I could run in those other ones. The surge/inkwell striped looked so cute with my dark navy cords and Ash sneakers, and it was super cute with my new Speeds. Anyways between Lulu and Ivivva, it was a spendy week for me!
Ok so I always get the 2 versus 4 way stretch thing mixed up, can someone please clarify?? Is the 2 way the soft, thinner material and the 4 way is the thicker/stiffer type??
I absolutely love the Beautiful Barouque Inkwell speed short print. I hope this is be 4 way stretch and the sizing will be right because I so want to own a pair.
OT - just saw Yoga Smoga on GILT. Get on it - if you missed out on the earlier rounds or to stock up. I ordered a couple of items. I love the darker Blue color it is so rich. I already own the black ones which have held up really well.
@4:29. I think it's fantastic you like the Fleecy Keen jacket. There are plenty of things lll makes that I don't care for and I'm sure lots of ladies don't care for some things I love.
It is important to me to clarify that my personal preference comments are in no way meant to disparage someone who has an opposite opinion. Variety is the spice of life and you know what they say about opinions... :-)
Hi so I was wondering how is the sizing differance between Ivviva Sweaters and Lulu sweaters? I am a 6 in scuba, forme and a 4 in the daily yoga and nice asana. I am wondering if it feasible to fit into ivivva sweaters? Thanks!
just wanted to give props to Annie at Yogasmoga - i wrote to them to ask whether the stuff on Gilt is the original run or a later run, and she wrote me back right away (it's a later run) and even helped me out with sizes, down to asking for my measurements. talk about customer service....
The 4 way is the thinner, stretchier material, the 2 way is stiffer and less forgiving, (It doesn't lay as nice on me as 4 way, it tends to stick out, if that makes sense). The speeds run TTS in both shorts. The raspberry plaid ones are raspberry and an ecru sort of color. If you thought it looked bright white, as it does in that one pic, you will be surprised. It's not. I didn't like the black piping. I would have preferred inkwell.
I have the seawheeze speeds in 2 way and I actually find them very comfortable so I don't understand the fuss about 2 & 4 way stretch as well.
anon 5.10 - yogasmoga on Gilt looks awesome. I got a tippy toe legging and a bra. Prices are awesome!
OT : yogasmoga is on gilt.com having a private sale. Just went live - it came up on my Facebook feed.
great prices - i jumped on the tantra tank and the slimes which I have been eyeing for a bit. I noticed that they were out of stock the last couple of days - probably for the gilt sale.
really recommend getting a few pieces - love the quality - so much better than lulu.
try on the ivivva stuff for sure - the prices are worth it! for reference, i'm an 8 in most lulu tops and power Ys, a 6 in CRBs and sometimes size up to a 10 in jackets for more length or shoulder room. for me, those differences are due to shoulders, hips and height. i've tried on a bunch of ivivva items, and given my body shape and how their stuff fits, i can easily predict what will work and what will fail. :) i can wear most tanks in a 14, and some of the jackets fit in a 14 but are slightly too short. the ivivva "scuba" does not fit me at all and the swiftlys fit but are too short in the body (most of their shirts have REALLY long sleeves). the bags are nice too and one size fits all!
The Speed shorts most look like the 5th picture down as far as true representation of color. I bought the BB inkwell. It is 4 way stretch, and the raspberry is 2 way.
Anon@7:13, I am 5', 104 lbs., 32 D. I get size 14, and the looser tops, I could probably get away with a 12 (but I like to layer under). The Hooked on Beats hoody I got is super roomy, and longer so it could fit a taller person.
Here's the size chart:
14/L 62-66" 31-32" 25½-26½" 34½-35½" 54-56" 31-32"
In the tighter tops (Swifty equivalents) I am a large, and they fit about the same as a 6, perhaps a bit shorter (I'm a 6 in Swiftys and things with a shelf bra). I have yet to try their pants, but I might do that this weekend when I go to the store.
I am a size 2 in the daily Yoga and I wear a size 14 in sweaters at ivivva.
MacFrannie you are so right with your evaluation of the Fleece jacket. I particularly dislike the back. Those little vents in a row look horrible, like a giant worm, just too weird.
LLA I think the 12:52 AM "comment" is spam...
LOL. Not even close. I'll take Lulu any day.
@ anon 7:29 am - thanks!
Anon 7:36 I'm with you. Lulu any day, and if I need an alternative I go to Athleta. YS has terrific CS but that's about it for me. Unfortunately, it's not CS what I wear and performs when I'm working out. So I put up with the GEC and stick to lululemon.
