Rumor - The Don't Hurry Be Happy Pullover is Coming at the End of the Month

November is going to be wallet-busting for me, I just read the Don't Hurry Be Happy sherpa fleece pullovers (a.k.a., the DHBH) are supposed be coming at the end of the month. This photo is from the first release. If you don't have one, you might want to think about getting this cozy warm pullover. Here are some detailed photos from the one I ordered two years ago. I ended up selling that one since keeping a white pullover clean was stressing me out and got a solid black one last fall. If the new DHBH comes in that pretty Deep Zinfandel or another nice color I'd consider getting a second. I use mine to watch soccer games in on chilly fall and spring days. I find it too hot to wear when walking around because once I start moving in it I really heat up, however, it's a super cozy pullover for chilly days.

Update - another source tells me the DHBH is not coming in November so I am getting some conflicting intel. As a consolation, some of the new down pieces are coming in Deep Zinfandel which sounds super pretty.

I like the look of this pullover but just went back and searched old posts about it and see it was last priced at upwards of $200 - is that true? I won't bite at that price.

OMG THIS IS AMAZING NEWS!!! I bought a black DHBH last year, but unfortunately my new kitty knocked over the laundry hamper one day and had an "accident" on it. I've been wanting to get another one ever since!!

Ooh, I love the thick pile of the fleece in your bonus pics. LLA, you have lost so much weight lately, I think you are going to need an entirely new wardrobe! Wow! You are looking great!

I do have to say I'm digging my "Hooked on Beats" hoody I bought from Ivivva. I have worn it a bunch of times now. I originally purchased it for a relay I ran in Whistler, Canada. I wanted something cozy to hang out in when I wasn't running and was waiting for my teammates who were. It's not furry like this pullover, but it does have cuffins and a very generous hood. I bought the soot with the herringbone cuffins and waistband. It sold out really quickly. I bought a 14, and I could have bought a 12, but I can very generously layer under it (I had 3 layers on beneath!).

@ anon 5:04 pm- Those were the ebay prices. I think it was $118 or $108 last time it came out.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 5:10 pm - that is one reason I am excited it's coming back, I want to get a smaller size. Though, I do like I can layer thicker layers under the one I do have right now.

So excited this is coming out again as I totally missed it last year. I hesitated for a moment and then they were gone! I would just love it if it came in Deep Zinfandel rather than just black and a cream color like it did last year. This is going to be a hard month on the wallet!

Anonymous said...

I'm from Canada and last year's DHBH was $92 or $98. I remember that I was really excited because it was affordable in comparison to some of the other ridiculously priced hoodie-things Lulu was releasing at the time.

Is there a certain time new practice freely tanks come out? I want moree and don't like the NLTs :(

LLA- I have so much trouble with static with this top, I never dry it in the dryer and I've tried everything! Any suggestions? Also I tend to feel like a shapeless black blob in it. Congrats on your need for a smaller wardrobe! Love your blog!

Anonymous said...

I am SO excited. This is my favorite lulu item of all time. Amazingly cozy.

I do have to say I am in love with my DHBH. Got the original in the grey 2 years ago. It is really warm though. would love something a little less and saw the "Hooked on Beats" sweater by Ivivva. It is sold out online. I am sure it was because it is so cute. Would love to know what size Anon 5:10 is in Lululemon so if I find one of these some where I can purchase it. Thank you!!

Anonymous said...

Yeah w/ synthetic fabrics when its dry inside the house static is a problem for sure, I've never found anything to stop it either? I bet they will do boring drap colors or maybe a color that no one wants ha ha ha ha- constantly frusterated w/ lululemon i'm not holding any hopes that they'll do a color I want! like I've said before I still troll their website and look at the new releases every Monday eve but my money stays in my wallet every week! I've been indulging in pure wool items that can cross btwn gym/studio/street been finding a lot but wow the prices are super high!!!!

Anonymous said...

Sold mine on Ebay.. So darn hot! I will take a Gratitude Wrap:)

Anonymous said...

Anon@7:07, this is anon@5:10. I am 5' and 104 lbs., 32d. The 14 is long enough it could easily fit someone taller (I have a long torso too). If I pull it down, I can easily cover my butt. My friend who is 5' 3" wants to try it on, and I think it will totally fit her.

Anonymous said...

When I have a static problem with my DHBH, I rub a dryer sheet over the hoodie. It takes the static away. Same for static from wearing beanie/hats - just rub the sheet on your head before wearing! It works!

Anonymous said...

@7:07 I'm a different person but I have an older Hooked on Beats Pullover from Ivivva. I am a size 4 or 6 in lulu & the 14 fits me perfectly, but it is not oversized if that makes sense. I couldn't layer a lot under it. I love it but find the neck a little weird. Other than that it would be the PERFECT sweatshirt...the cuffs are sooo soft. HTH! :)

Anonymous said...

I sold mine on ebay too because it was too hot. I just found I rarely reached for it. I think it was because when I needed something warm I didn't want to bother putting something over my head and adjusting the sleeves, and then redoing my hair. Aesthetically though it is super cute!

Anonymous said...

I love my ivivva hooked on beats too. I went back to order another and it was gone. I am 5'7" and 1007lbs and got a 14 because I didn't want it to be short in the torso.

Anonymous said...

As always, thanks for the heads-up, LLA. Hopefully it comes out whether sooner or later, I would seriously look at buying it as long as the price is around $100 and not too much above. I would like it in a darker colour. If it is coming out, NOW makes sense because it's already November. True fall temps and we definitely want to cocoon, and if they're making a Cuddle Up again this year, that's the closer to Christmas purchase?

If you're in Toronto, the Eaton Centre store (and I'm sure the other locations) now has the Pique Forme ii (as of yesterday), and the Paisley CRB. Paisley CRB definitely going fast (I went to the store 3 days in a row, which I rarely do these days) and finally got it for myself and a friend.

I have a Define Jacket Size 6 in Gray (Coal perhaps?) with the We are from Space March (it's like a red space dye) as the trim that I am looking to sell. I was going to put it on eBay but figured if LLA is cool with it, I would try our peeps first. It has been hanging in my closet since I bought it as I have others that I go to first. E-mail me at lovin4u at gmail if you are interested. I can send pictures etc.

I'm so jealous when I hear of all you ladies finding cute stuff on Ivivvia!! I always check their site after the Lulu upload and never see anything new so I always miss the cute stuff :( when is the upload?

I'm happy DHBH is coming back! My mom got the black one last winter and wore it ALL the time. It looked cute with her lululemon or even a pair of jeans. She never complained it was too warm though but she also didn't wear a lot of layers underneath it.

Side note, I wore my pique forme ii today. I wasn't sure I was going to keep it when I got it on Thursday because I thought maybe I wanted herringbone, and wasn't sure about the fit. I said eff it and cut the tags off today and wore it. LOVE IT!!!

Yeah I bet those dryer sheets work it coats every fiber w/ god knows what they are super toxic and not good for you at all just google toxic dryer sheets/fabric softeners there is a laundry list of carcinogenic chemicals not even required to be on the label- i'm a super chemically sensitive person and they literally make me sick- so I would much rather have static that put toxins on myself!!!!

@ anon 3:40 pm - I've been reading this latest round of news stories. I am on a few lulu oriented FB boards and have this blog, and I haven't really noticed an uptick in comments about piling. Or sheerness, and certainly not one about pants wearing through to be sheer in one spot. I'm a bit incredulous on that anecdote. It's like that story about the Philly store hiding the size 10 and 12 items and then the news going on to make a big deal about lulu not selling to plus size people.

I think the luon in the black bottoms is better than it has been. I made it a point to try them all on when black bottoms were re-stocked after the recall. Some of the luxtreme items and some of the new ziggy patterns were on the sheer side but overall, the fabric is better, I think, in terms of opacity. Also, the new full on luon is quite nice. The luxtreme Wunder Unders are really nice, too. So, I think the company is heading in the right direction quality-wise.

I think some of the anecdotes quoted were taken from reviews of older items that people left recent reviews for.

OT: any news about these notifications about some special secret treat sale this (saturday) morning? curious to hear if anyone went, and what they found!

One of the stores in my area now has the every Yogi tee. Short and long sleeve.

Anonymous said...

I would agree LLA in that quality is improving. Still some issues here & there, but no where close to what it had been. For the record, quality issues existed for many months before Lulu was outed in the national media as having an issue (sheer black Luon). The issues were widespread & extensive. It was almost as if someone was asleep at the switch. All that said, kudos to Lulu for making changes & working diligently to right the ship. Lulu really does need to address the quality of customer service though. They really do treat their customers pretty poorly, IMO.

Is the every Yogi tee/long sleeve true to size? Thanks!

@ Anon 6:41, one of my local stores put out a ton of clearance stuff last Wednesday. It was mostly bright colored stuff with a few old items (but nothing good) I hadn't seen in a while. Also a lot of Scuba Stretch were marked down. I did not buy any of the sale stuff.

Another Anon stated this in another thread:

"I also received a notice from my local store about an event or "VIP's" early shopping for deep discount merchandise and they had summer colors attached like coral, beach blanket blue etc. I then stopped by the store to ask about the event and they said the have tons of leftover summer merch in the warehouse that needed to be cleared out so they are sending to their stores to get rid of. Didn't they just have the warehouse sale in Los Angles? Most retailers got rid of their summer stuff in August! November 1, 2013 at 3:48 AM"

Anonymous said...

It is true quality is improving overall but I find the prices overpriced for what you are getting in return (i.e. Cosy Up Jacket $148.00, pullover $108.00) I am seeing more markdowns than ever before, items are just not moving very fast in my store anymore. I used to spend $300 easily at Lulu now not so much.

Lulu addict, I'd agree maybe some information in the new news stories is from older reviews, but what about these stories? The Business Insider mentions a report from Oct. 11th of this year - and the Huffington Post pic is crazy sheer.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/01/lululemon-pants-sheer_n_4193699.html?utm_hp_ref=business

http://www.businessinsider.com.au/customers-say-lululemons-pants-still-sheer-and-pilling-2013-10

I'm annoyed with Lululemon right now. I had to return a Full Tilt LS because the stitching came out on the sleeves, right about the thumb holes. They were sold out in that color when I returned it (and they took it thankfully, even though tags were off and it was almost a month since I purchased it). They couldn't replace it - but offered to let me exchange and pay the difference for the Star Runner Pullover in the same color. Pay more, just for the neck part? No thanks.

Also tried on a pair of Ziggy Wunderunders - super sheer. Could "pass" if I was standing, but you saw EVERYTHING when I bent over (in my size and a size up). The saleswoman informed me that was how it was supposed to fit - um, no.

I'm sticking to tanks and Vinyasas for now. I'm hoping the Full Tilt was a quality issue. The girl almost demanded she let me return it (I kept see sawing because I loved the color) because she said it would just get worse; she'd taken back a number of shirts lately with the same issue.

"A lot of the new shirts with thumbholes keep unraveling right above the thumbhole," she said. "If I don't take it back, it's going to keep going right up the arm. You didn't pay $88 for a shirt you can't wear."

No, you're right - thanks for reminding me to have standards. Love that Lulu store and their honest employees (Logan Circle DC).

Anonymous said...

yeah i'll agree quality is improving and they are coming out w/ some older designs that we all love. I just can't stand a lot of the new designs in most categories that persist like: 1). super curved hemlines, 2). shapeless tops. 3). too short of hemlines on most things. 4). colorblocking on so many jackets its ridiculous 5). hi-low hemlines (a trend everywhere that I predict will eventully go away but when its super ugly imo. 6). would be nice to do new colors that aren't so close to ones they've done over and over ie. beaming blue and shades almost the same ie cornflower anyone: love the color but don't need more- thank you!@!! so give us what we want lulu ;) ha ha ha ha

sorry, a bit OT, but I was wondering if anyone has tried the Speedy Shorts from Ivivva? I am usually between a 4 & 6 in lulu Speed shorts, so I was wondering if maybe the 14 would be a good fit. I can wear a 4 in speeds but they are a bit too tight for my taste (not really too small, but I don't like them super tight. Some 6s are good but most look a little sloppy because they are so baggy). I have a few pairs of Ivivva luon bottoms that fit perfectly, but they are obviously stretchier so I'm not sure about the shorts. Thanks in advance! :)

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 10:17 am - shapeless tops seem to be really in for some reason. I like Free People stuff for my casual wear and they either have tent tops or curve hugging thermal LS tees and nothing in between. I have loved their sweaters in the past but they only have the weird tent shape sweaters or ones with a high front and really long back (hi-lo hemline). I can't wait until things take a more classic turn.

Lulu is coming out with some old favorites, which I love. If they are taking requests, I'd also like to see the return of Lulu Pant II sweatpants, the Push UR Limits tank (I need a good luxtreme tank and I haven't liked any of the new styles), the Lux Hoodie or the Remix Light hoodie, the Spirit tech fleece Pullover, the Turn Around LS, and the rulu Energy Pullover but I'd take a Hills Pullover or Full Tilt Pullover in a pinch. I'd also love for Power Ys to be made out of full weight luon and about an inch cut off the length. They are insanely long these days.

@ Amanda - I would take anything that originated with Business Insider with a big grain of salt. They seem to have it out for lululemon and love Athleta for some reason. Like I said, I made it a point to try on the black pants when they were restocked and they are much better than before. But I definitely agree some of the colored bottoms and some of the lux bottoms are still on the sheer side, particularly when you bend over.

That is a real bummer that your Full Tilt had some stitching come undone. I think it's a shame that some stores have dropped doing repairs. I've taken a few things in over the years to have repaired and I know I wouldn't be such a big fan of the brand if my stores didn't repair items.

Some of the Ziggy WUs were sheer - the Inkwell August and October and the black September. The other two - the Ziggy August Glo and Soot Ziggy were not - I bough them - and I made sure to mention that more than a few times on the blog.

As for other brands being so bulletproof, I bought Athleta years ago before they were bought by Gap. I had a tank with a built in bra that the underwire poked through after about 3 washes. After paying $50 + $7 for shipping that was it for Athleta for me. I also bought a bunch of Lucy years ago and had more than a few items where the stitching unraveled. Unlike Lululemon, they were not set up to repair the items.

As for that Huffington Post photo, I can recreate the same thing with a pair of older "good" luon Still pants (Branch, from about 5 years ago) by stretching the crap out of the fabric and then taking a photo through it. Try it. Take your older good pants, have someone stretch it and see what you see.

In fairness to Lulu, no product ever created on this earth is 100% perfect. However, when you charge a premium for your product as Lulu does, quality has to be impeccable and customer service Nordstrom-like (Yes, Christine Day, Lulu may not be Nordstrom as you pointed out in the past , but they have best in class customer service and Lulu has a LONG way to go with customer service). If not, customers will spend their money elsewhere (Athleta, Nike, Stella McCartney) no matter how much disposable income one may have. No one likes to spend money on a product that doesn't hold up; people work too hard for their money. Lulu clearly got away from what made them successful. That is Christine Day's fault and thankfully she's leaving. Lulu is headed in the right direction, but it will take time. I have been really happy with new product over the last couple of months, spending more than in the last year, and am very excited to see what the Holiday line will look like!

Anon@4:11, Ivivva uploads usually happen Tuesday nights/Wednesday mornings. This week, it was late. I'm lucky because there is a bricks and mortar store near me.

I recently bought a Swifty SS in this summer's orange color (can't remember the name). I wore it once and washed it, and it pilled on the sides of the back. I took a picture and emailed it and my tale of woe to LLL. I got a response right away, and even though I bought it on WMTM, the woman Who responded to my email told me to return it to my local store. The clerk at the store was great. She gave me the choice of a full refund or getting another Swifty in one of the new colors (I got a cornflower that was full price and didn't have to pay the difference). I got several more emails from LLL making sure that I had gotten resolution of my problem and that I was satisfied. I cannot knock Lulu's customer service.

Anonymous said...

Hi Ladies! I'd like an advice from those who have V-neck swiftly shirts. I'd like to try it since it's been moved to WMTM, but don't know what size to get.

I have a swiftly tank in a 4 and a crew neck short sleeve in a 6, both with a loose fit around the middle. (I don't like them skin tight). I know a lot of people size up in crew neck short sleeves. Does that rule apply to V-neck, too?

Also, does Rasp glo color bleed in swiftlys??? That's the color i'm thinking of getting.

Thanks in advance!

@ anon 1:15 pm - good points. The big thing about lulu is that their quality used to be so much better and then they pretty much threw it down the toilet for a good year and a half to two years. They let stuff slip to horrible levels, got called on the carpet for it, and, I think, are starting to recover. The media attention and competition from other brands will hopefully help keep their feet to the fire.

Anonymous said...

LLA...That's the thing I've never understood....quality had been in the toilet for quite some time before sheer pants-gate occurred. The national media and the company acted like sheer pants issue was a new problem. Faithful, hardcore Lulu fans had known about quality issues long before the bad batch of black Luon earlier this year. If I was Chip, I would have thrown Christine Day out of her office and told her never to come back. She nearly torpedoed his company and vision.

Anon 6:41, Nov 2 -

If you're talking about Tyson's corner, you really missed out! I got another notice for Logan's circle. They were doing some event from 6-9pm tonight.

At Tyson's, I got there at 8:55. It looked like a few sale racks...but then an educator said they would take 30% off the lowest sticker price!

I got a whole bunch of loot. Some of this stuff was still much higher or even full price at other stores.

I got 3 swiftly SS for $23 each. 2 NLTs for $23 and $30. A Race Me tee for $30. A Swiftly LS for $27...and a Fluffin' Awesome jacket for $140.

It was a good deal! I haven't seen so many Lulu "staples" so cheap during sales. I was kicking my butt...I just bought a pink parfait swiftly SS on markdown for $49...I could have got it at the same sale for $23! Argh :(

Carrie | Gymwear Guru said...

Anon 2:08 - I bought a few v necks this weekend...I got a size 6...the same size as my crew necks. I find the shoulder area too tight for a 4....weird bc I can never fit in a size 6 CRB.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 5:20 pm - That is what is annoying, we knew about the problems for a good 18 months before Pantsgate ever broke but now the media is looking at lulu's FB page and reading reviews off the web store and making a big deal about stuff they still don't know much about. The info about slipping quality was out there but they didn't start paying attention until lulu made their recall announcement, which was an incredibly stupid way to handle the problem IMO. Where was the media and investors two years ago? Day definitely let the quality slip and nearly did them in. However, the plum and most recent stuff has been done under her watch, too, so not sure if getting rid of Waterson was the key or Day lit a fire under a bunch of people or Wilson started sticking his nose in the day-to-day stuff.

LuluAddict said...

@ CarrieRae - Nice deals!!! I've been doing pretty well at my local store's markdown rack - Ta Ta Tamers for $19 (this has come at an ideal time since I've changed bra sizes), heathered raspberry glo swiftly tank for $29, raspberry glo SS Swiftly for $39 (passed on those two over the summer but am happy to pick them up on markdown), and plum Groovy Run shorts for $29 (Xmas gift for niece).

I think the stores are moving the MD stuff to make room for the holiday stuff. I want to head to my other stores tomorrow to check out their MD racks.

Carrie | Gymwear Guru said...

LLA-

Great steals! I love being able to get some basics at a better deal. $60 is a lot for a workout top....I can justify buying CRBs because I wear them with causal clothes. Swiftlys are hard to justify because I only really wear them to workout in!

I forgot to say I also got a Spry forme for $41!

Keep an eye out for messages in the product drop emails and also Facebook. Apparently there have been these little "flash sales" across the country to get rid of their summer stock.

I was pretty happy with the marked down sticker price...even happier when then took an additional 30%. They were even giving R&D members their 15% on top of it. I hope they keep seasonally doing these little sales events.

Anonymous said...

Those are amazing deals Carrie Rae! One of my local stores could benefit from one of these sales. They have a ton of old summer stuff - mens and women's - that's been sitting on two long racks forever. The men's t-shirts have been $39-44 for what seems likes months. I will stop by today or tomorrow to check and see if prices have been reduced and ask if they will be having one of these sales soon.

And I totally agree - swiftly tops are definitely overpriced for what they are and I will only buy them on markdown.

@ 10:29, thanks for the update. Agreed, this was unnecessary controversy and LLL brought it on themselves by being completely thoughtless. Irony is not even the word - they are said to espouse the tenets of yoga. Well, thoughtfulness is key. Interesting, it took several meetings to come to a resolution. Crazy! What LLL did is downright offensive and tasteless. Good for Family Place exec. director P. Flink for educating them.

Stuff like this still makes me rethink every purchase. They've been getting less and less in the past couple of years because of things like this, poor design (and poor quality of some items), and poor customer service.
