OT: Book Published About the Bethesda Store Killing

Those of you who are long time lululemon followers and readers of this blog remember the shockingly awful murder that happened in their Bethesda store a couple of years ago. A reporter from the Washington Post, Dan Morse, covered the story for that paper and has now written a book about it that recently came out. If you are a true crime fan and are looking for something new to read as you travel about during the holiday season you might want to pick it up or download it for your e-reader. Dan sent a copy of the book to me and I'm about a quarter of the way through and it's an interesting read so far. I will admit that it was a bit hard for me to start since it hits a little too close to home  -  we're all big lulu fans who shop at our stores frequently and we could probably swap out our nice upscale store and pretty, friendly educators for the store and ladies covered in this story. I know one of the people mentioned in the story and talked to her a little bit about it. She said all the people who worked there have moved to other stores or no longer work for lululemon. The story is covered very matter-of-factly, though, and not at all luridly, so that helps.

Incomprehensible and horrifying do not even begin to describe Norwood's thoughts and actions and what she did to Jayna Murray.

Thoughts and prayers to Jayna's family for their tragic loss. May Jayna rest in peace.

The Holidays are always so difficult when someone who is suppose to be there is missing. I really feel badly for Jayna Murray's family. No one deserves to die this way. It is unfathomable to me how someone could go to such extremes to cover up a crime (theft). After seeing this post, I Googled the crime (I remember when it happened, but didn't know all the details involved). Apparently, Brandy Norwood's fellow soccer team members said she had a problem with stealing things back in college. They complained to their coach, but nothing was ever done. It's too bad that these issues were never dealt with then. Such a horrible, tragic waste of two lives. I honestly don't know if someone who kills another person like that in such a violent, evil way can ever be rehabilitated. The other really disturbing aspect of the case were the 2 Apple employees who heard the disturbance through the shared wall but did not call 911. I cannot imagine why ever not. I don't know how those people can live with themselves either. My prayers and thoughts are with the Murray family. R.I.P. Jayna.

My prayers also go out to Jayna's family. Just being reminded of this terrible tragedy fills my heart with sadness and pain for all involved. I can only hope this book brings a sense of closure rather than any more heartache to their family.
So many people still think of your daughter daily and know she is a shining star watching over her loved ones.

I have never been inside a Lulu store but after reading Mr. Morse's book, I definitely won't be going in the Bethesda location. It really shocks me that they stayed open after what happened in there. It isn't like it was a burglary: one employee killed another in one of the most horrific crimes in the country. I guess money talks which is why people go there. If I decide to buy yoga apparel, I will pick another location for sure.
