Ooooh, I am going to need that purple Practice Daily tank. Too pretty.
What occurred to me today is how so many of the ladies in the images have normal bodies, and how many of their thighs meet. What do you think about that, Chip? The educators aren't all size 2 bean poles, thank you very much.
Hey LLA, from downunder, I just went into my local store and got sucked in by some raspberry!! The all sport bra and we have play all day shorts in the raspberry check.....so pretty! My first pair of the play all days. I have like 17 pairs of speeds and have a few shake and breaks. Looking forward to wearing them for casual wear going into our summer:) and here I was thinking I could resist the raspberry. Looks great with the ultra violet from days gone by and plum too.
Do you think the base runner pullover will come in regular piqué ? Herringbone doesn't work for me, I find it tighter. I do remember seeing a glimpse of it online with the black base runner pant but it may be herringbone. Anyone have thoughts on it? Thx !!
@ Lana 4:48: don't you they've had so many "real" women in the photos lately because they are doing damage control? i noticed an increase right after Thigh Gate. maybe i was imagining it? or doesn't Corporate have anything to do with these photos? (I really am curious.)
OT I saw the uba hoodies in store and there was a truly orange one labeled Love Red. I know love red is an orangey red but this was ORANGE. Anybody know if this is a mistake? Is that the guava color? Thanks!
Love the base runner 1/2 zip - not enjoying the price tag though. I want to check out the Take me Om pant too - what material is that? Can Lulu also do some run tights in the paisley print? Maybe in a deep zin? I missed the En route crop in inkwell - though they were a smidge short for coverage in winter. And in Canada, cropped running pants aren't cutting it in the deep freeze right now.
THANKS for the heads up on the Herringbone Base Runner half zip. That one will be mine! I was about to stalk the stores for surge, but now it will be herringbone! I think my Base Runner l/s in deep zinfandel will actually go back now (though I might hang onto it for a bit with the extended return period).
Blah blah on Chip. Don't give that crap any time in your day! I won't that junk anymore. If he hasn't shut it, he should. F the thigh gap. I'm a size 4-6 and I don't have a thigh gap. I am not a skinny mini. I'm a hardcore runner and yogi with developed quads, calves and a curved booty. I am not for one second "worried" (or whatever self esteem issue is supposed to be inferred) by not having a thigh gap! I love being in motion and my ultimate goal at all times is to feel good and to be strong and healthy.
@ 7:04 PM, go to MEC, their Mercury run tight is awesome! Also, their merino wool products (t-neck, shirts, socks) are excellent, non-scratchy, 100% mulesing-free. They have a great selection of everything! LLL has, year in, year out, failed to deliver a proper winter running tight.
@anon 5:37…love the article. It definitely puts things into perspective. Maybe we ought to look at the pilling between our thighs as signs of accomplishment! I worked out so dang hard that I wore out my pants. Awesome. :)
And honestly…this is exercise clothing we're talking about. It gets more abused than probably any other clothing our wardrobes…why do we have these expectations that it should last forever? I'm over the whining and complaining. If people are so upset about the pants, then quit buying them. Problem solved.
I'm not really concerned with Chip so much as have definitely noticed the change in images recently....too interesting. But I love seeing these clothes on different shapes and sizes for a change.
Just got my Surge Base Runner 1/2 zip & need to size up. The seam under chest feels like its digging in and that's only over a sports bra. I always take 6's but will need an eight in this.
I understand the frustration against the comments Chip made however a size 2 beanpole body is not "abnormal" it is merely just another body type. Also, the "models" in these pics are employees at the stores no? All the images from the two or three stores I frequent that come up on this blog are the employees - some are skinny some are curvy. Just depends whose working that day I believe.
And yes my workout clothing is probably abused more than anything else I wear but I do expect $80+ crops to last more than two washes i.e. my recent inspires. That is the first quality issue I have experienced all year though.
@ 9:39 - eek! That's what I was afraid of. I went with my usual 6 in the herringbone base runner 1/2 zip that I just ordered, but was worried it might be a size up item. Fingers crossed it will fit!
I actually think that chip is talking about big women, bordering on being obese. Anyone who stresses about having or not having a thigh or big or small boobs should really start looking deep within themselves and start loving who they are. Chip can stick his foot in his mouth all he wants.
@M - I believe Chip was asked about pilling on the pants and his comment about it not working for some women was in regards to that so I took it as women's whose thighs rub together will experience pilling. Though, everyone interpreted it to be mean larger women.

I know people are probably sick of Chip Wilson's latest case of foot-in-mouth, but this article says it like it is.

OT but my store had the raindrop jackets in black and angel wing marked down to $129...i would guess those colors might hit WMTM this week?
the pic above is the pique nice asana, not the forme:)

The base runner PO is cut weirdly and not flattering. Very happy I have my Herringbone Full Tilt POs from a couple of years ago.
