The Latest and Some Try On Reports

New Ziggy Plum Forme Jacket.

I tried on the Ebb to Street Pants today in the black and Inkwell in both my TTS and the next size down. I didn't love them. The material was thick and opaque but the texture felt odd on my legs and the material created odd shadows in the crotch area and where my legs joined my trunk. That could be a function of odd lighting in the dressing room because I thought they looked better in brighter light outside of the change rooms but I don't recall regular luon pants doing that to me. I also found them kind of short. I am 5'5" but my inseam is about a 31" so most lulu pants are a bit long on me. These stopped right about my ankle. I also did not care for the ribbed cuff at the bottom, I thought it made the pants seem like long johns. The pants are opaque at my TTS but I did like how compressive they felt in the next size down. However, I could then see my underwear in a deep squat. On a last note, I know my Ebb to Street tanks stretch with body heat and wear so I am suspicious these pants might do the same and bag out in the knees so all those reasons led to me leaving these in the store and going home with the Herringbone Skinny Will pants instead (I kept trying them on over several visits and finally caved). I would say the fit is TTS but will feel like a pair of regular luon pants in TTS and if you want to feel compression you should go a size down.

I also tried on the Paisley Inkwell En Route pants and was bummed to find the material had a high polyester content and felt scratchy and hot. It also had a bit of a sheen to it. The pants themselves have a lot going on with a side pocket, a two piece waistband, almost like the Astro Pants, and a big cuffed hem but I really liked the print. The content is 88% polyester and 12% lycra. I would love to see a much simpler style come in the Paisley print, Wunder Unders but not in the same material. This style pant also comes in solid Plum with Plum wee space accent at the waist (I think - I just took a quick look). I thought the fit was a snug TTS.

The stores are starting to get the Ziggy Raspberry Glo Cool Racerback. My store did not have this one yet but it did have the new black. I was very tempted to get that one, too, since I am loving the silky feel of the Ziggy fabric this year but I think three Ziggy CRBs is too many. I did end returning the Soot Ziggy CRB just because I felt the color was a little dull on me. I still loved the feel of the fabric, though.

The new Green Bean Scuba. The Cornflower Blue is shown in the top photo.

Ziggy Wee Soot/Angle Wing Wunder Under crops and Cornflower Blue Full Tilt LS. I tried these crops on last week and found them on the sheer side. They're probably ok if you don't bend too deeply in them.

Inkwell/Green Bean Nice Asana Jacket. There is also a Forme Jacket in this pattern.

Plum Avenue Pants.

Inkwell Paisley No Limit tank.

WMTM is up. Long sleeve runbeams are on sale for $59, if anyone is interested. That ugly, long plum tweed softshell coat is on sale for $199--still $100 more than I would be willing to pay!

anyone try on the long tweed coat that's on md? i've been eying the black one for a while. i love tweed and it looks cute and sporty but it's still expensive and it's final sale. curious to hear any reports on this item...

I also saw the nimbus stripe pacesetter on WMTM - I returned those a few months ago because they were defective. The waistband were not stretchable, making the skirts very difficult to pull up! Surprised to see them on WMTM since they were obviously defective!!!

LLA did you see or try on the paisley run for fun crops?? Wondering if those are sheer or busy?? Thanks

Hi! I just got my herringbone wunder under pants. I ordered it in my usual wunder under crop size but somehow it feels tighter than usual. Is it common for the pants or its the fabric? Any insight would be great! :)

I have been trying to buy a few things from WMTM but no luck. The web site is so slow. At least it appears that PayPal's connection back to Lululemon timed out before it charged me. It's pretty late and the stuff in WMTM isn't that great for everyone to be buying at once.

Lots in WMTM--even new stuff I was surprised to see.
The inkwell NLT is gorgeous!

So interesting the tweed coat went to WMTM SOOOOOOO fast. I snagged the midnight iris energy bra and a pair of studio pants off of WMTM. :)

@9:56 too funny about the coat! How does the LL Runbeam run compared to the SS version with sizing? If anyone could please comment on the fit I would appreciate.

Thanks for the fit reviews LLA! Too bad those pants have such a high poly content- I am a sucker for paisley and those were calling my name. I'm not sure my local store has gotten them in yet, but I may have to squeeze in a trip this weekend to check everything out.

I just got my herringbone wunder under pants in my usual size as my wunder under crops. Do pants run tighter than crops cos my pair seems a tad tighter than usual. Or is it due to the herringbone fabric? I love the look of this fabric so any insights would be much appreciated! :)

Swiftly Paisley is available in all sizes both colors online.

@Macfrannie - I am reading that the tweed coat has a really bad fit that is why it went to WMTM.

@anon 6:06 am - I think the herringbone fabric feels a bit snugger than other fabrics. I think it will loosen up a bit with wear.

@10:50 pm - I did see the paisely run for fun crops but keep forgetting to try them on. The pattern is very subtle in real life but I think people have commented here they are finding the Run For Funs on the sheer side.

LuluAddict- I'm anon 6.06am. Thanks for your comments! :)

I tried on the Run for Fun crops over the weekend because I'm a great big sucker for paisley. LOVED the print. Loved the crop's style. HATED that they were sheer. :( I was wearing coral colored underwear with tiny brown polka dots, and I could even see the dots (and we're talking pencil mark-sized dots). I'm not normally self-conscious in a fitting room, but I made my hubby come to the door to see these, and I wouldn't turn around even for him. Other than the solid bright pink crops earlier this summer, these were the most sheer ones I've tried on. Sad.

10:50 I saw the run for fun crops last night at my local store in NYC and the material is thin, almost like the inspires this past summer. I love the waistband with the paisley and blue in those pants, but I don't think they would hold up to a tough workout.

Picked up midnight iris energy bra & the energy tank on WMTM. I then caved and got the journey crop in plum.... love that crop it's so comfy in my hot yoga classes!

I tried on the tweed coat that is now on md and it was horrendous! It was too heavy and just completely dwarfed me. Very boxy too.

I just got the runbeam long sleeve from WMTM in the power purple, I have been waiting for that top to go on sale. I also got the run for your life crops in the crazy raspberry glow and plum. I bout the speed pants from the Union Square store in NYC they have 2 types one is for colder weather (which I got) very nice thick and soft material and the other is thinner mor like the inspires. I also got a swiftly long sleeve in the gray stripes.

That is a lot of lulu purchase for me. I guess the iris pattern was either overproduced, or people did not like it, since a lot of items in that print are on sale.

I tried on the Tweed coat and it was true to size. For reference I am a 5'3" 127 lbs and wear size 4 Right as Rain jacket. I did not like the fit at all. It's too long for my height, the horizontal line is odd and the fabric is too stiff. I was not comfortable having it on. It felt heavy. The arms and shoulders were not tight at all but I couldn't move well. I think the fabric is the culprit. I've tried on tweed shell coats from other brands and lulu's version is the stiffest.

@ LLA - how is the Ebb to Street tank holding up? You mentioned that it stretches during workouts? A little or a lot? Do you still find it too hot for indoor workouts or was it just your gym? Trying to decise whether to remove the tags on mine or save my lulu $ for something else. Thanks!

LLA:
thanks for pointing out the poly in the en routes! that makes my decision for me.

can you remind us about the fit of the run beam long sleeve? I remember you loved it and i'm thinking about pulling the trigger on one on WMTM, but not sure what size.
thanks!!!

LuluAddict said...

I would say similar to Swiftly LS but a little bigger through the waist.

@ anon 9:12 am - my gym has been closed for renovations so I haven't done a non-running workout where I could get by with less-supportive tank like the Ebb and Street in awhile. I have been wearing them as casual wear, though. I think the blue is the stretchiest of the three I have (plum, black are the other two). The seem to stretch through the middle quite a bit and then every now and then I have to rearrange the girls and yank the top part up just to make the armpit area look better, it's not like it creeps too low, cleavage-wise.

thanks for the Runbeam info!

@10:50PM
I tried on the Paisley Run for Fun crops last week and they are definitely sheer. I tried them on in my usual size 8 as well as 10. So many pants these days are sheer at Lululemon! I've started buying my running crops at Athleta bc I haven't had problems with sheerness there--yet

Just bought the Pizzaz ss swifly on WMTM. I got the spry one last week. I'm so glad I waited to get those when I was looking at them earlier in the summer, and they were full price. I am now trying to pay full price for things only if I absolutely love them and would be filled with deep regret if I didn't get them. If I just like something, then I'm just going to wait and see if it pops up on WMTM. I actually returned a plum ras glow hyperstripe CRB. I waited 2 weeks, went back to the store, saw there were still a ton of them (and they've been out a while now), and I returned it. At the time I took it back, there were still some available online. Although I really liked it, I wouldn't be heartbroken if it sells out. I'm done buying things I just "like" because I'm all worried they will be scooped up and no longer available. I'm only going to do that for pieces I absolutely love.

We'll see how long this lasts, lol!

Does anyone know if the pants in the top picture are Studio Pants in an olive or sage color? Is this a new item that is coming or something from the past that I have forgotten about? :-)

I felt the same way about the Ebb to Street pants. There is that shadow and it was very annoying. The fabric just feels odd. If they were maybe half the cost, I might consider but like you said, I can imagine these would stretch out at the knees as just pulling them off bent them a little out of shape.

At Anon 9:12: My Ebb to Street tank also stretches out. I DO tend to pull on my shirts as a nasty habit but over the course of the day, it did get loose around the hem. That being said, I tried it on the next day and it looked like it had somehow regained its form, lol. I almost feel like this is a size down tank and I have a size too large, but can't say for sure.

I just saw the Street to Studio crops now comes in Soot light. I don't remember that color on any uploads recently?!?!

Anonymous said...

Penny - I think those are probably soot light studio pants from a recent release and it is just bad lighting.

Thanks, Anon. 2:55 p.m. I guess it was just wishful thinking on my part. I appreciate your help! :-)

Nothing in wmtm even remotely interests me, not even the Runbeam shirt. I have other LLL l/s shirts that I much prefer. There is nothing much lately by LLL that I covet. I used to want and buy so much! I used to stalk wmtm daily, haha, and the Thurs upload for sure. Now I often forget about it, because there is nothing I am after and waiting for a reduction on. I will pay full price on items like the soot and plumb CRB's, the full tilt l/s in plum/hyper, and certain speed shorts. I know when things will go fast. The full tilt in particular will never make it to wmtm. I used to want every new crop that came out but since pantsgate, I do not trust LLL on the crops or pants. I'm stocked up on crops and pants that are from earlly 2012 or prior, so I just ignore the new ones. I'm often reading that all the new crops are poor quality, so I have no regrets about ignoring those items.

I sized up in the black Ebb to Street tank as it seemed to fit tighter than the plum or cornflower and appeared to give me a bit of armpit fat. Now I'm worried that it'll bag out and I'm wondering if I should size back down. Does anyone have any thoughts/advice?

I tried on the tweed soft shell coat today. I am typically a 4 in LLL but sometimes size up to a 6. I tried the coat on in both sizes. The 6 was too big - arms too long and body too wide. I had trouble pulling the 4 on. I was wearing an oxford button down shirt which probably didn't help. The interior of the coat is a very fine microfleece which seemed to not allow the coat to flow easily over my shirt. Once on there was not much room to allow for lots of layers. I could see only wearing a tank and a swiftly or some other thin long sleeve under it. The coat definitely fits awkward since there is zero stretch or give in the material. It's a shame because it seems to be a very high quality jacket - material is nice and sturdy - and is well put together. Not super warm but could be a good to from in 40 or 50 degree weather. It was very tight in the shoulders though and I could see having difficulty trying to perform simple tasks in this coat - getting in/out of the car for example. I did not find the 4 to be too long length wise but the sleeves were still a bit long. I passed on it.

On a more positive note - I received my very first swiftly's today! I ordered them last week and so far they are out of the package, tags are off and no snags! I sized up to a 6 in the long sleeve and am glad I did because I have room to layer it over a crb but it is still fitted just not skin tight. I stuck with a 4 in the short sleeve since I will wear it alone over a sports bra. Excited to try them out.

I also received my full tilt ls in hyper stripe plum. I love it and cannot wait to wear it!

Today I ordered the midnight iris energy bra, flow y in multi groovy stripe and a polo for my hubby.

I'm with you 10:56 - I also only buy things I absolutely have to have at full price - inkwell inspires, wunder under iplux, mod moves crops, full tilt ls, and CRBs. Anything else I can wait for it to move to WMTM which it seems that a lot of stuff eventually does. I may not get the color I wanted but I'm on a budget so I can live with it.

I have LL run sun beam in both sizes.
To me size 4&6 isn't so much different just Size 6 is bit roomer.
