I'm really glad I didn't jump on the green been striped swiftly. At upload I couldn't decide whether I loved or hated it, but the more I see it, the more I hate it. Can't wait for a solid green bean CRB though!

The Harmonious Hoodie looks wonderful, but US only has a charcoal. Any chance we will get other colors?

Off topic, but has anyone interviewed or worked at Lulu before? Just wondering what the process is like!

Bought that dang parka today. Tried it on completely not expecting to love it but I did. I only wish the hood was removable. It does feel a bit on the thin side so I hope it's a warm as it's supposed to be for Chicago winters!

Ughly skirt! Wow! It reminds me of those other ugly ones that were out a couple of years ago that had the lower back than the front and were very straight and narrow. (Were suppose to be a running skirt, but it was impossible to move your legs apart in that thing, not to mention it was ugly!)

Oh well, I keep buying Lulu skirts, I have way more than one person needs, and my wallet really could use a break!

I could never work at Lulu. With the constant lure of the employee discount, I'd be writing them a check every payday!

@ anon 12:34 pm - I hear you on that!!. Eds only make like $12-15 an hour so working there would be indentured servitude for me.

Anonymous said...

I worked there for 2 weeks! :)

I like the looks of the striped top under the Rain Drop jacket in the first photo!

@11:58am, i have worked at lll... just a the holidays b/c i really LOVE it and love my store!! plus i get the discount!! what do you want to know? also @12:34 - you are sooo right!! it's true! but for me it was a little fun and the stuff is sooo cute, couldn't do it perm but for a short while it's great fun!!

Anonymous said...

I'm dying to find the second chance pants. I'm going to scour all the lulus in my area tomorrow morning.

working at lulu might be an interesting job for someone who is financially independent and is looking for something to do other than the gym or hair salon. what is the discount that the employees get any way. They all seem so nice at the store I got to. to bad that skirt has the weird flap in the back.

My friend worked at lulu and she said that as part of the group interview you have to attend a fit class with everyone, I don't think they do that everywhere though. Also, they do only make like $12 an hour but the commission adds up. They make anywhere from $2-$15 an hour extra on top of that! Christmas time is ridic!! This is why they get so pissy when you buy tons of stuff online and return it in store, it cuts into their commission. The girls at my store are the snottiest girls you'd ever meet so I don't mind.

Went down to the local store today, tried on the Second chance skirt - it's not worth a 2nd chance at all! Material is heavy and fitted with the undershorts longer than the skirt, and the back of skirt much longer than the front. It's just wrong in all the places plus the price didn't help at all! Tried on the Star Runner pullover, love the material but did not like the seams across the chest. Did find a Scuba in black commuter denim on MD for $79 so that's the only thing I brought home.

Can anyone speak from experience about how the merino wool in the harmonious hoodies and pants washes and wears over time? I really want to buy those but curious about how the fabric stands up over time. Thanks!

Anonymous said...

i had high hopes for the skirt but i hate that hemline.

nothing has appealed to me for weeks but i did purchase some items for my husband, cannot remember the name but basically sweats. he loves them and the fabric and cut are both very nice.

OT: Im selling my angel wing stripe vinyasa. The colour doesn't suit my pasty skin haha. Looking to get back what I paid for it, so $100 plus shipping (10$). I can only do EMT unfortunately... so only for Canadian buyers. My email is cheesypasta@hotmail.ca :)

LLA: I know this is super OT so you dont have to accept the post if its not appropriate :)

@Anon 11:58 - I Interviewed at Lulu a long time ago (4 years, maybe more). I can't speak to their process now, but back then it was that you submit an application and then you get a call to come sit for a casual group interview. The group interview seems like a casual conversation, but you'd probably want to be on your a-game. Even if that's not still the process, I would suggest having a VERY clear picture/outline of where you want to be in 1 year, 5, 10, etc. as per their goal setting values. Good luck!!!

I picked up a green bean 105f singlet today in Toronto. The colour is gorgeous.. Very saturated

I have a 2 wool items. I happen to really like the design of the pieces, they are really warm but itchy. It's not terribly soft fabric. I saw the pants and hoodie at the store yesterday, they are very similar to stuff they had a year or 2 ago. I don't wear the wool stuff too much, I washed maybe once so far, they seem a little stiffer but I don't place them in a dryer.

I have been so bored with WMTM lately! I feel like it's been the same stuff for forever. I haven't felt the need to order anything from the last 2 uploads either. I do sort of want the grey and black star runner pullover but I already have 2 of those.

Anonymous said...

Anon at 11:58 here! Thanks to everyone who responded about the interviews and what it's like working there. I saw that my local store was looking for educators for the holiday and was thinking about applying. I'd love to know what the group interview is like and if any of you had suggestions/advice.

Thank you!

OT - I wonder what fabric is luxtreme made of? I like all these cute names lulu gave to their tech fabric, but then they don't describe what it is made of. I wonder if there's polyester in luxtreme?

Anonymous said...

Wow, lots of good stuff on WMTM! It's almost double the amount of what was there before. I just scored a plum Race me Short Sleeve for $44. There are also Groovy plum and split pea shorts for $39, white lace patterned swiftly for $39, moonbeam Nice Asana jacket for $99. Website was definitely slow, so I'm guessing people are buying.

Anonymous said...

OT but did anyone notice that on the Canadian side there's a SS swiftly and LS swiftly in surge blue??? Have they been there long (currently available in all sizes)? I snatched up an SS swiftly as soon as I noticed them, surge is such a nice saturated older color!!! :)

Anonymous said...

I second the WMTM comments! Just got an Energy Tank for $24.

@anon 11:58, i am the person that has worked at the holiday and plan to do so again, the interview is as described above, v casual (sitting on yoga mats) - it's great to wear some lulu to the store, ques are around your goals, how you like to work out, what you think of lulu - just like that. they need lots of help at the holidays so if you are authentic and friendly i'm sure you will be hired. being and ed can be fun but sometimes guests don't want to be educated and you still sort of have to find a way to engage, that's the only part i sometimes found challenging. good luck!!

Anyone familiar with the featherweight singlet on wmtm?? I think I've tried it on before but I cannot recall what it fit like.. The reviews mentioned the fit is off. I have lots of sleeveless swiftlys but I'm looking for something that won't roll up as I run. Any comments would be appreciated, thanks!!!

Anonymous said...

OMG whoever pointed out the Surge Swiftlies I love you, thank you!!!!!

I stopped by my LLL store last night what a disappointment Same old stuff...no wonder why we all tend to order online vs shop in store. Inventory was low and the store had very few customers. I've heard from a friend of mine who was a former employee @ LLL that sales are struggling company wide. She worked for them 3 yrs and always complained about the pay and that's why she left due to the low wages. So those who are looking @ working there should know up front about the low pay.

Anonymous said...

hi 12:01AM the luxtreme fabric is usually nylon around 77 to 87% 13%or so lycra spandex. luon is similar but sometimes contains polyester. I hate it when companies don't tell you what their fabrics are made of especially when shopping online. They all have these fancy names for the tech fabrics, but all in all they tend to be made of the same materials invented by Dupont.

Okay, so Kate Hudson and a fitness wear company have a new thing: Fabletics. The website reminds me of yogasmoga in that you get credits to clothes for referring friends and they are giving people 50% off for the first 24 hours after they register. The website and styles remind me of Lulu and Zohba.

I just ordered a pair of leggings, a tank with built-in bra, and long sleeve loose for for 34.95. It looks like if you don't "unjoin" they will send you another outfit once a month (need to remember to cancel it!).

I need new leggings and would have spent twice that much on a Lulu pair. I figure, if they pass the bend test, I'll keep it. Similar to Lulu's return policy - tags need to be on.

Here's a link if you want to check it out. Seems like everyone is hopping on the fitness/lifestyle wear bandwagon!

LLA--any news id the ebb city tank is coming in any new colors (besides the new green form this wee';s upload)?
Thanks!

I think the striped shirt that people are asking about is the heart opener.

i'm kind of liking the cornflower harmonious hoodie - i wasn't that impressed with the fit when i tried it on in store, but that color could convince me otherwise. unusual color for a wool piece, and i loooove wool. the price is in line with Smartwool and Icebreaker - in fact, it's lower than it would be from those other brands. maybe not as ethically obtained nor as high quality?

@sternocleidomastoid: i have the sattva pants from last year, and i love the fabric and fit, EXCEPT there is a hole in the rear - not sure if i did it or if it was there when i bought it (on markdown), and therefore i didn't feel like i could bring it back. (so could be a quality issue.) The fabric of the Harmonious hoodie felt different, and the sattva was more of a terry on the inside - not lined.

i have the thin merino turtleneck top from last year (forget the name) and it's really nice. soft, thin, form-fitting and comfortable. great warm layering piece that looks pretty proper. got that on markdown too so felt it was worth it.

@10:08 PM - Canada side had crap for WMTM :(

@12:01 AM - Just checked and Surge is BEAUTIFUL! I hope it comes out in more designs!!

Can someone comment on how suitable are the Shine Tights are for running? I can only see myself running in them, but they might be not ideal for that.

Anonymous said...

also scored the midnight iris energy tank for $24 - very happy I returned that one at full price! I love that print but hate the polyester feel to it so the energy tank is a nice combo because it is mostly luxtreme and just some of the print.

Anonymous said...

Can anyone comment if the black/ coal material is the same as herringbone which I find tighter? Referring to wup. Thanks!

Anonymous said...

Thanks to whoever posted about Fabletics. I love the look of their Omemee tank and bra, also the Relaxed T. Too bad no shipping to Canada at this time. Since Lulu quality is hit and miss depending on the item, I am still actively on the lookout for other brands to substitute.

I'm considering the race me short sleeve on WMTM. Went to a store today to try it on (of course it was still full price at the store - heaven forbid lulu could make it easy for us). It fit great in my tts 4. the 2 also fit but the arm pits were tight and I could see it chafing during a long workout. I don't really need it although it is really nice and fits great. Would be nice to have some short sleeved workout tops to cover my upper back when doing certain cross fit lifts/workouts.

I really don't get how lulu decides to mark items down. The soft shell tweed coat got marked down twice already and has been on WMTM for only two weeks or so and the darn rise and shine and om me home jackets just sit there for months with no further markdowns.

Stopped at the local store on my way home and bought a THIRD pair of Speed tights--my second Cozy pair. The fit and compression is just fantastic, I can't get enough of them. I also saw lots of the Green Bean and the color is really fantastic! A brand new Athleta opened up and I was surprised how much great stuff they have in there--lots of cute stuff to rival Lululemon with a return policy that can't get any better! I also stopped in Dicks Sporting Goods and Nike, Under Armour and Reebok had some cool stuff, and I almost always have points and coupons to get the prices down. I'm liking all the new rich colors out right now, I feel like I've been starved for jewel tones and space dye.

2 things i want from the Canada side, paisley black LS Swiftly + Surge short sleeve swiftly. GAHHH!!! Must move to Canada NOW! :) I hope these 2 items come to the U.S. or at least more Surge cause that's my fave color eva! <3

Going to check this out! That's a steal. As long as you can cancel and not have to pay for an additional month! I just paid $78 for the ruffled up wunder unders on final sale at my local store in the beautiful plum color, and when I got home you could see my underwear! They use dim lighting in the stores, and I'm starting to wonder if it's just for this purpose sometimes!

Thanks 12:01 AM for the tip on the Surge Swiftlies. I will have to consider one of those.

Re: wmtm Canada. I was up early enough to have my pick but there was nothing I had to have. I could have gotten the RFYL crop in plum/rasp/hyer, the Groove in Plum, some of the s/s shirts but I am just underwhelmed. The latest wmtm items I also could have purchased in Banff last week when I was there, as there was a fair bit on sale. Even the run full tilt in plum/hyper and cornflower were marked down (but I already have the plum one). In the past 5 years there always used to be something I waited on to go to wmtm, especially jackets, but not anymore.

The only thing I bought this a.m. were 2 pairs of the ultimate padded run sock, since they are the only sock I run in and they rock. A pair for me and a pair for a friend.

@ Stern... 4:07, no experience with the jacket but I had a merino wool l/s from last year. The something jersey? It had a placket with buttons and patches on the elbows. I got it on MD and I really loved it. It was washed once before I wore it (in a mesh delicates bag) worn all of 2 times, and only for a few hours at a time at home after work. Nothing strenuous was done in it and I never caught it on anything. During the second wear, I noticed a hole in the sleeve near the shoulder (and it was not a tight fit either). Even though it was on MD they took it back and gave me a refund. That was my experience with LLL merino wool and basically for me "never again" (merino from LLL) because after light wear this is what happened. It's too bad, I really liked the shirt. I was happy they didn't hassle me about the refund.

I felt the rain drop jacket yesterday and although they are calling them sealed seams they feel almost identical to the bonded seams that seem to fall apart but perhaps not as thick. I have to bonded crbs where in some areas the glue is so thick you can see the globs. The jacket is nice, the material down the front is very smooth and silky. They need to come out with more interesting colors. Cornflower just does not appeal to me at all.

Anonymous said...

5:55 PM, I guess they REALLY made too much. The did that last year with that Coco looking short jacket. They couldn't give that away. It's funny, I live in a major city and I never see people wearing that jacket.

I agree with you that the stuff on wmtm languishes forever when really they should have a "fire" sale.

I have a question....I've heard that some people size up when buying luxtreme items. Is this true? All the luxtreme items I have tried on in my regular size are sheer. Thanks

Fairly OT - I may have gotten the deal of a life today! I went to one of my local stores at lunch today and saw the black voyage pullover marked at full price. I'd been eyeing this for awhile on WMTM (I have it in purple and love it). I asked the GE if it was the same one marked down on the website and she said she'd check the price. What do you know - it was only $44!! She asked if I still wanted it and of course I said "yes". I got a few other good markdowns at the store today. LOTS of stuff on sale. Mostly sizes 10 and 12, but some smaller sizes as well.

I picked up the Shine Tights today. I can't see myself running in them. They are VERY low waisted, so if that is your thing, you'll love these. They are a definitely size up item. I'm 5'5" and around 150 lbs and usually wear an 8 in WUP and crops. I have tried on 10s and they fall down in the rear. The Shine Tights were VERY snug so I went with a 10. The educator also said that they run quite small. To be honest, I have no intention of wearing them to the gym. I plan on wearing them out with a pair of heels! I think they look a little "fancier" and I love that they don't have a logo plastered on the back of them. You can totally pass them for ACTUAL PANTS and not yoga pants!

So, I can't comment on the wearability for running. I prefer a slighter higher waist for running because they tend to fall down. I can see these working their way down over time. I'm so glad I got them.

Hoodie + rain jacket isn't weird at all. I see it in Chicago not infrequently.
