City and Studio Softshell and More

Also shown is the new CYB Tank

Photos of the new City Softshell jacket. I didn't see this at my store today but it's way overkill for my climate.

Studio Softshell Jacket jacket photos.

The Ruffled Up Forme. The Angel Wing details are nice.

I got my Ziggy Wee August Inkwell Cool Racerback today and I'm pretty sure it's a keeper. It looks really nice with Inkwell bottoms. The material is soft and thick and gives good coverage.

The Blue Moon/Ziggy Wee August Inkwell No Limit Tank.

A couple of Won't Stop Vest Photos.

More of that pretty Angel Wing Scuba.

Plum Racer Me SS Tee and Speed Shorts. I got my plum Groovy Run shorts in the mail today and they are super soft and stretchy. I love them.

I saw the City Softshell yesterday in the Suburban Square store - Ardmore, PA. It was underwhelming hanging on the rack and I didn't have time to try it on. It seems to be missing that extra oomph that would make it worth the price. It's very plain and I would consider it on MD because it would actually be a nice casual coat to wear to and from work. I work in an office so it seems great for that purpose.

They also had the Can't Stop Jacket which I did not try on but is super soft. I would love to have one of these but don't need another jacket right now so will wait for MD.

They did not have the full tilt ls yet but said they had a ton of stock coming. I really like the plum/inkwell stripe one. dgijori

LAA, are you worried about the rasp glo bleeding with your plum groovy runs? Thanks!

Just got the plum speeds yesterday. Agree, super stretchy and light. (Seemed more so than my old 4 way speeds). It's likevwearing nothing! The ziggy print is way cuter in real life than in pics, it is a lot more saturated and richer than the pics show. That tank color combo with the Ziggy print looks way better than the pic too.

I have to say, I really think that Lulu is really stepping up their game. The Speed Cosy tights are really awesome and will be great for winter running. They are very compressive and thick with really good coverage, completely opaque!

OT but I need help from you ladies :)

I'm wanting the WUC in midnight iris, but my question are
1. Are they the same material, or are they super stiff because of the pattern?
2. Are the reversible? (I hate that the website doesn't always show/say)

LuluAddict said...

@ Seattlite - I know they are not reversible. I'm 99.9% sure they are not stiff. I tried on the Forme jacket and it felt like regular luon.

I can't get with city or studio jackets. They are so boxy. Even after trying them on. They weren't flattering, it's just not worth that price at all.

LLA I just received the groovy run shorts (zippy) that were in the WMTM and my iris print scoop neck. the groovy run shorts are soft and very comfortable. I also saw the plum ones at my local lulu and yes they feel soft and the color is amazing.
The pace setter in plum is also the soft 4 way material if anyone wants to know, the iris print in the pace setter is not, I swear I am obsessed with the iris print, so far I have a scoop neck tank, boogie shorts, energy bra and the pace setter and also a bang buster head band. I also found a fast cat in my size in the cool checkered pattern, it was the last one so I grabbed it, I plan on running in it early next week.

Seattlite, I have the midnight iris wuc and have worn them. The material is very stretchy but feels a little scratchy on the skin, probably due to the higher polyester content in the print fabric than the normal solid colous. They are tts on the generous side. They are not reversible. Overall I still love them as I generally love prints and will collect them in the various styles.

Did you happen to see the CYB tank in store too?

OMG I'm loving that blue moon ziggy NLT! Gorgeous.. I can't wait to get my herrinbone WUs..hopefully they fit I had to go with the 2, which I can wear but I'm not sure about sheerness.

I loved the City Softshell (long and short style) in pictures online, but in store I wasn't really happy with it. The tweed print is beautiful, but it fits really boxy on me. I'm normally a 2/4 in lulu tops, 4 in bottoms. I tried the jacket in both sizes. A 4 was unflattering (no shape) and while the 2 was a bit more snug, it was still pretty shapeless. Another thing that I noticed is that the arms are fairly stiff due to the material, so you feel them a lot when you bend your elbows. If I had purchased this, I would have only worn it with the jacket open--for some reason buttoning made it look boxier. I couldn't justify the price though, when considering the fit on me.

I ended up purchasing the Right as Rain jacket in plum instead of either of the softshell jackets. I love the fact that you can cinch the waist, and the fleece edging near the top--very soft! I bought a 4, and it is form fitting enough to show some shape while having enough space to layer a sweater underneath for chillier weather. The plum color is just gorgeous.

Off topic...I saw some "ORSO" scubas at my store today - chat room says it's orange soda from 3 years ago - any talk of it coming back out? in a mat perhaps? it was a fabulous orange....thanks!

I have the Plum Groovy Run shorts. Love them, soft 4-way stretch. I find that the Plum color bleeds more during a wash. Ras Glo doesn't seem to bleed. Anyway, I am okay with it -- the white part just doesn't look as bright. but not too bad and I don't mind a whole lot because my tops are long and typically cover the band.

I bought the blue moon ziggy NLT and am going to take it back and hold out for a better NLT which I am sure will come. I wish they had made the bra of the blue moon inkwell stripe they used on the recent Power Y. That would have been adorable. Regardless, I did not want to immediately rip off the tag and wear it so it goes back. The ziggy wee just doesn't match the blue moon as much as I would like.

However, I bought the Plum/Plum & Inkwell NLT one and love love love it! My boyfriend even loves it and he never comments on lulu stuff.

I know its easy to get excited but try and be careful and selective-because I am sure there is good stuff coming our way.

Does anyone know what day/time PST that ivivva gets uploads?

Anon 3:30 am here - I did not see the CYB tank in the store. It may have been there but I didn't look for it since it doesn't appeal to me. If I'm in my other local store this weekend I'll take a look for you and report back.

It's finally getting a little cooler here on the east coast so I'm excited to hopefully get to wear my pique wills this weekend.

I think I'm in deep trouble. I bought too many lulu recently and I still want more. I got mesh tech tight/skinny will pique/skinny will plum/105 singlet/CRB plum/CRB glo stripe/All sport bra glo stripe/energy bra/journey crop/dance studio jacket plum/inspire crop plum/run for your life crop. And now I like all the ruffle stuff they released...lord give me mercy!

The ruffled up Forme makes me so sad. I waited patiently for the Define to come out with similar ruffles after they did it a couple of years ago with the In Strides (which were just too darn long for me) but all they got was discontinued! I refuse to buy a Forme because I'm so irritated by the change and those shoulders will never work for me, but I love the tiny ruffles!

Another RECALL on the new speed shorts! Just spoke to an educator in Manhattan & they are pulling them off the floor for poor fit. What's with the quality control lately??

Anon said...

Check out eBay listing 181210787651. Alberta Lake Rose Scuba - sure looks fake to me! Notice how they have it all zipped up so you can't see the ribbon zipper color? And they even list it in the auction description as BROWN!

Anonymous said...

Um...sorry, but that city softshell jacket just doesn't look good on anyone, especially if you have boobs or hips. I expect will see the whole range of sizes in loot before too long :(

The Ivivva uploads are on Thursdays at 2:08/2:09 p.m. (When I get the emails), not sure if that's PST or EST.

Anonymous said...

Oops, Dixie, those times I told you were when I get the email notification about the new stuff. Not the upload times.

@ anon 4:40 pm - I am reading the fit is really small on the new black slop stripe speeds. I can see why it got recalled.

@ anon 6:07 pm - I haven't liked it on anyone, either.

Anonymous said...

Can someone explain to me why the skinny will in *textured sold out in the slightly darker shade but have all sizes left in the slightly lighter shade? They didn't seem that different! Also, what is the difference between textured/piqué/herringbone?
LLA, please help! I don't get it!

Totally OT - I lost one half of the chest strap parts on my Back to Class Backpack. I contacted LLL and no love. They don't have any spare parts and they wanted me to take it to my store to be assessed... WTF??? Assessed for what? That the part is actually missing??? So then they said they would refund my full purchase price but of course there aren't any more in the Midnight Iris Color. It's just maddening sometimes. I just want a replacement part for F's sake and I get an all or nothing solution, either no pack in the print I like or no strap. Its just irritating. If anyone has half of a chest strap (the female side) in the black color let me know. HA.

@ luluFemom, I so wanna get the ruffled forme, but they were kinda disappointed when I tried them in the store, the ruffle seams rub against my skin pretty badly especially around the arm.

And another recall? bummer!

Am I the only one who thinks the new blk speed shorts are relatively TTS? I took my usual size, did some full squats, bend test, the whole bit. I actually preferred the stiffer material on the blk ones compared to the slicker plum pair.

@anon 7:48-you might want to try checking REI/EMS/MEC. They usually carry replacement straps/buckles for backpacks.

I just wanted to chime in about bottoms...

Last week I bought the Ziggy Wee Wills, they are basically like pantyhose, super sheer, I think they were October Ziggy however, they were very muted colors, dark grey and back with some plum. Today I saw the WUP in Sept Ziggy (i think?) which is the print with the yellow and blue in it (and August is the plum and Rasp Glow?) and they are awesome, textured and knit, not just a nylon print like October Ziggy.

Also, I bought the Pique Wills last week, they are striped pattern outside, vs the WUP I bought in Textured Black Grey this week, which are striped inside. Does this make sense? WUP are Pique outside, stripes inside, but the WILLS are Pique inside and striped outside, I guess that is why they have different code names but the WUP are still labelled as textured. Same fabric, just different sides for different item. I also LOVE the herringbone this year, got both the WUP and WILLS to see which fit better, they are actually textured and woven, not printed like last years Alberta Lake and Black Swan, which I returned because I wanted something warm for Alberta winters.

So if anyone is on the fence or wondering which textured bottoms to get...go with the Ziggy with the blue and yellow, the CRB and WUP were awesome. The darker Ziggy is sheer. Also, returned plum Hi Lo WUP today as well, not compressive or thick or opaque.

Hope this helps anyone who only orders online.

I just bought the black slope striped speeds in store today. I thought they were really cute! Glad I got them before the recall (: as far as fit goes...I'm a TTS 6 and bought these in an 8. That said, I have many speeds in 8 (a few in a 6 as well, but more in an 8). I thought they were only slightly smaller than usual for 2 way stretch speeds. On me, they fit slightly smaller than the twin stripe, but still larger than the gray wee space speeds that came out previously. I like the fit - 2 way stretch in an 8 is usually weird looking because they're a bit big, but 6 usually a bit small. These are almost perfect (my favorites are the wee space). That said, I tried on the 6 as well and could barely get them over my hips....I actually double checked the tag to make sure I hadn't accidentally grabbed a 4, because they definitely didn't seem only 1 size smaller than the 8s. So maybe there are good batches and über small ones. Anyway, glad I grabbed some up!

@LLA is that a plum with split pea happy Hatha bag I keep seeing in some of the photos? Thanks!

the ivivva upload happens on tuesday some time between 11pm and 1am EST. this week it was earlier (there were fewer items), but for several weeks prior it was consistently around 12:45am, the same time as the lulu upload happens.

things don't sell out as quickly as some lulu items have, but i've ordered something and been glad i did because the next morning around 10am it was sold out. i'm lucky to have a store close by, and they seem to actually get everything offered online (WHAT a concept!), so i don't always order immediately anymore. (i'm shopping the canadian side)

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 9:24 pm - that is the Happy Hatha bag.

Man, I really wanted some of those new black striped speeds :( I'm between a 4 & a 6 so was really hoping for a perfect fit! Do you think they may show up at the outlets??

Anonymous said...

I have the herringbone WU in black swan and black from last year and it's not a printed pattern. It's always been woven as such.

Picked up the black stripe speeds today.... Loooove them! I am a small 4 and the fit perfectly, not too tight at all. The recent release speeds have had so much darn extra fabric in the seat, these fit like my old school speeds:) Also picked up:
September ziggy WUC LOVE! They are re so breathable and stretchy that I will actual work out in them ( I usually only wear Luxtreme or speeds for working out)
Hyper stripe Full Tilt, kinda love* ish*
My 2nd Rest Less tank, already have the plum and now have the black;)
Ruffle black Forme, Loooove it! Fits so good, perfection.
Returned the plum ruffled WU and kept the high low plum WU. The ruffled are just short and not as opque or comfy IMO.
Piqué WU coal black, LOVE, returned skinny wills for these
Angel wing stripe Forme jacket, lOVE it!!!
Plum Fluffin vest LOVE, sized up to a 6 for the boobies
Okay NOW I AM DONE.... Until next month;)

Yeah, that ALberta Lake Scuba is totally fake. It even has "Luon" tag on the scuba... hmmm I hope someone knows that it's fake when they buy it.

I was is my local store yesterday and the educator told me they pulled the black ruffled WUP… More quality control issues…shocking…lol. But, the plum ones were still on the floor.

Just wondering what size the girl is wearing for the Studio Softshell *Tweed (the dark colour), I really love this but they only have size 6 and 8 ... also do you think it's warm? I want a casual winter jacket, I can obviously layer under it!

Thanks
