Angel Blue Energy bra vs. Blue Moon Energy Tank |
I got the Blue Moon Energy tank I ordered Monday night. I love LOVE the color. It's similar to Angel Blue except less greenish. It's a very pretty blue and I hope there is a Cool Racerback coming in it.
The material used in the tank is Power Luxtreme and the material is thick and gives good coverage, unlike luxtreme tanks of the past.
The fit is TTS (it's snug in the chest and then looser in the waist and hip) and it is very long. The shoulder to hem measurement on mine came to 26.5". I am not a huge fan of super long tanks. I would like to try on the size down in this tank. The waist is kind of baggy and I didn't love that about this tank. The baggy waist combined with the super long length make me think I am not going to keep this tank. I prefer a more figure hugging fit like that on the Fast Track tank. I love the color and the fit is comfortable but I think this tank is just not for me.

I had the exact same experience. Loved the color, but while the 6 in the bust fit well (I'm a 34D), the waist was too baggy, and sizing down would've meant a too-tight bust. So, back it went. I'm hoping for a CRB or Scoop Me Up in blue moon, it's beautiful.
Thanks for the review! How is the support?
If the tank is too long why not have the store hem it for you? They have told me I can get anything hemmed, not just their pants. Just a thought in case you like the fit when you size down, but still werent happy with length.
I love the older Power Ys because they are shorter. I dont like long tanks either. They bunch up in such an unflattering way!
What level of support does the built in bra provide? Is it comparable to the energy bra? Thanks!
OT: For any of your vintage lulu buyers, do you recall if Wunder Under Crops were ever sold with the hidden waistband pocket in the back, vs. the front?
I bought a pair of WUC on Ebay that have the waistband pocket on the back and triangle gusset. I know LLL used to make all of their crops with the triangle gusset during the very early years.
They have the "I Belong To" sticker ironed on the inside with "lululemon" written in a cursive script above the name tag. The size tag is still attached and reads, "6 reg" and reads "Designed in Canada, Made in Vancouver." The size tag matches my other Made in Canada tags - random, but I find the made in China, other foreign countries, etc. tags to look and feel different compared to the Canada version.
TIA to anyone who can help!
So cal store getting a in the flow crop in blue and love red.
Thanks for the fit review. I tend to agree with your reviews so you saved me a trip to store with 2 preschoolers in tow. Hoping to see an Energy bra and a CRB in this color.
Would love to also see a comparison of blue moon to beach blanket blue
Very pretty! I love the color comparison!
If they came out the scarf I just might faint! I know it's so close to spry but I still love it! I think it will go lovely with plum
@anon 5:27 pm - that is a good idea but I have a mental block about augmenting any tank of mine from it's original condition.
I tried the spry in the flows...sheer. I am a size 4 in most bottoms and tried these on in a 6 - could see the tag without bending over.
I would love this tank. Even tho I'm only 5ft 3 I love length on a tank and always size up in a CRB to a 6. Thanks for the fit review!!:)
see now this fit review actually gets me excited cause I love a long tank and prefer bagginess in the waist. I'm the 5ft tall girl who buys a size 10 crb so it's baggy, the weirdo who loves the newer Power Y's because of the extra length.
any chance you would you be able to comment on how the new/luon light Power Y fits compared to the Energy Tank, length wise?
That blue moon looks fabulous! The new store opens in Mapleview Mall, Burlington TODAY. Hope they have it:) Finally a location less than 40min away. So excited.
@anon 5:48 PM - I have an older pair of WU with the triangle gusset and the pocket in the back of the waistband. I love the pair I have more than any of the more recent ones! They are slightly longer and more supportive in the leg and a bit lower cut in the waist than the more recent WU. I would also say that the run smaller than the current WU. And they have lasted much longer than the ones I have bought since. My newer WU have all pilled and stretched out. The new ones get baggy in the knees over time and look awful! The pair I have with the pocket in the back still look new! I wish they would go back to that fit and fabric!
If you ask me, you scored big on your purchase. Enjoy.
I own a pair of gather and crow with hidden pocket in the back and I belong to sticker. It is from many years ago, my first luon crop I believe. It feels different from all subsequent pants/crops I own. Everytime I put these crops on I get confused because of hidden pocket placement lol!

Who's the seller? I bought a couple pairs that were very suspicious and turns out they were fake. The seller was pandas workshop. Against my better judgement I wore a pair to teach yoga and knew instantly they were phoney. Seller never admitted to them being fake, but took them back for full refunds- even after being worn. Makes me mad to think pol were paying top dollar for her fake lulu and they didn't have a clue.
I've never known WUC to have pocket in back.
Hope this helps.

off topic but I just saw the Fast Track shorts in the WMTM section and am wondering if anyone's got a review of the purple or red colors? I am wondering if they will look terrible with sweat or if it is not noticeable. Anyone have those colors?
Fast Track shorts for me were really awful in red. I bought a black pair when they were markdown at my local store — but only size 2s. I'm a 2 or a 4, typically. I tried on both of the LR but I just wasn't comfortable in them. I could see the line of my black thong.
I'm Canadian, and I do triathlon, and I've just seen WAY too many tri suits that are red that look okay when they're dry and unstretched, but horrific when dampened. Seeing the line of my black thong through the LR Fast Track shorts just reminded me of hairy men with transparent red tri suits.
Can't speak about the purple, however.
Anon @ 6:04
I don't have the fast track shorts but I hav the power purple energy bra (also luxtreme) and it shows sweat REALLY bad.
Fast track shorts are really awesome I have three and am thinking of getting the red ones. I have been running in the a lot and they don't ride up. the pink and yellow ones bled when I washed them after a run but then I washed again and the part that bled washed away. they don't ride up at all. ran in the rain last night with the spry striped ones. I also have the purple which I haven't worn yet.
here are my specs
5'-3" 122lbs very lean small hips (35).
love these shorts.

oh sorry I got a size 6 and they fit me well and don't bind my thighs.

OT but does anyone have the inside scoop on if another Wandering Yogi BRA is coming out?
@5:48
I too have an older pair like that. Gorgeous thick luon.
anon 3:15am: I liked the roominess and length of the Energy Tank a lot. It didn't strike me as being overly long (I'm 5'6" with an average length torso)--it hits me higher on the hip than my CRBs and Luon Light Power Y. The Energy Tank is definitely roomier in the midsection than the CRB and Power Y in the same size.
Someone else asked how Blue Moon compares to Beach Blanket Blue. It is a lot lighter. I think it falls somewhere between Caspian Blue and Porcelaine. It is a very pretty blue.
Hope that helps!

I love love love the Fast Track shorts. I have 3 pairs.
Purple- super cute but does show sweat. I don't wear undies with them so maybe that is a contributing factor.
Love red- Wore these today for a very sweaty workout. Minimal sweat marks
Black- no sweat was visible.
I highly recommend these shorts. They make your butt and legs look fabulous. I did size up.
the biggest issue people are having with the fast track shorts are the snugness aound the bottom of the leg (around the thigh). i wear an 8 i tried the 8 and the 10 and they were a little tighter around the leg than i would want- so i passed. the red arent sheer at all, didnt try on the purple
Hmmm. I want to love the Energy Tank but if it's really long, that may be a problem. I rarely wear my Turbo Tank because it's longer than I'd really like. Is the length comparable on the two?
The negative comments I've read about the Fast Tracks on the lulu FB boards mostly involved them riding up on people.
Oh hey — the woman who was wondering about the pocket in the back of older WUC. I just pulled out a pair of reversible WU pants from quite a while ago (maybe 2009?? 2007?? honestly can't remember) & they're exactly as you describe. The luon is also phenomenal. I'd forgotten what an amazing fabric that was, back in the day. Anyway, if the fabric is great, I'd say you have a real pair. If the fabric is sh*te, then I'd be wary. I guess, in other words: tag = normal.
@ 8:13...I've been wondering the same thing about the Wandering Yogi tanks! My size 6, along with most other sizes sold out immediately on the Canadian site when it came out a few weeks ago! I've called some local stores and they have no idea if they're getting it in! I :(
I ended up returning the Fast Tracks I bought. Great compression, not sheer but they cut in too much on the bottom. I would have sized up but the waist was already a bit loose for me in the size I tried. For reference I tried the size 6 and my measurements are waist: 25.5, Hips
It wouldn't let me finish my comment so here's the rest
I got the size 6
Waist 25.5
Hips 36
Largest part of thigh 21
Loose in the waist and tight in the thigh.
the fast track shorts did not ride up on me,even when running in heavy rain yesterday i like them better than the shorty shorts from last year.
They did not bind or ride up on my thighs, but I am really slim and have small hips. I have the pink yellow and purple, the purple, the spry blue and black and just ordered the red.
that is all I have been wearing for all my workouts. I don't think these shorts would work for curvy women or women who have super muscular thighs.
The purple one's were not sheer and showed some sweat. If you happen to be worried about showing sweat, purple may not be a good choice.

I just received the blue moon energy tank today in the mail, and I agree with what LLA said about it -- I'm 5'3'', ~ 125-130 lbs, size 34B. I ordered my usual size 6. It fit fine, the top was NOT as supportive as the Energy Bras, I didn't think. I don't think I could have worn the tank for running without wearing another bra underneath it. It wasn't as tight around the ribcage as the energy bras (which may be nice in that I didn't think it squeezed too much under the arms). It would be fine for yoga. It was also pretty long, it covered also my entire bottom when I stretched it out. I didn't think it was all that loose on the bottom, although it wasn't skin tight. Since it was so long on me, I imagine the material would get kind of heavy when I'm sweating. Also, the bra pads that came with it were all bumpy, and I could see all the bumps in the mirror (made me look like I have lumpy boobs). However, the color is really beautiful. I wouldn't mind getting other items in that color. For me that top is also going back.

Where did the reviews go?

Hi Ladies! Anon at 5:48 PM here. Thanks so much for your super helpful replies!
The fabric is thick, compressive, and opaque. The seams are tight, matching the quality of my older WUCs and the crop is slightly longer, similar to what Anon at 4:58 AM mentioned.
Julie K - The seller is a private seller who offers other brand-name items, but I didn't see any other lulu items listed. I'll steer clear of this pandas workshop. Happy to hear you got your money back though. I've noticed so much fake lulu on Ebay, I really try to buy with caution, but these were so affordable (~$30 with shipping), I couldn't resist.
Also, very relived to hear the back pocket was normal for crops during this time:). I'm going to tentatively move to call these crops authentic based on everyone's feedback.
