NEW! Racer Short

New Racer Shorts. They have a luxtreme waistband and made of Swift. They are similar to Speeds but don't have a back zipper pocket.

Mod Dot Ta Ta Topper and Love Red Mod Moves Crops.

A nice comparison of the Blissed Out shorts on three different figures.

Love Red Featherweight Singlet and Mod Dot Mod Moves Crops.

this comment doesn't relate to this post, just fyi...
today I bought a pair of wunder under crops in power luxtreme instead of luon. they're new, and not the full-on luon either. the tag describes it as "Smooth Interlock Power Luxtreme." they are less sheer than my both my luon wunder unders and my inspire crops, even though the inspires are also power luxtreme.

Those shorts are really cute, but no pocket? WTH lulu?

Every pic I see of those blissed out shorts looks super cute. Lulu does a horrid job of capturing the cuteness of their stuff for online. The models look stiff and uncomfortable. These real life ones that you post are so much better.

I see a disturbing trend lately of Lulu eliminating pockets from running bottoms. What the heck! as a distance runner, the numerous pockets were what first attracted me to Lulu in the first place! My first ever Lulu purchase was 2 pairs of the Run Ultra II shorts. I could justify the high price because of the 2 pockets for my gels and the back zippered pockets where I could securely put my driver's license, health insurance card, some cash and my car key. No other brand of running bottoms had more than 1 pocket. The Run a Marathon skirt and crops have 7 pockets! I hope Lulu isn't trying to save money and only make running bottoms without pockets!

I was hoping we were getting the new colors tonight. I take it we aren't :(

I can see where the runners are coming from disliking the removal of the pocket, but for a gym goer (I lift and do HIIT cardio on the treadmill) I can't stand the back zipper pocket because it digs into my back doing things like abs where I'm laying down.

These shorts look like they could've been SeaWheeze gear from last year. Love red is very close to fearless red.

I'll be passing on these shorts due to lack of pockets. I carry my iPhone 5 with me on long runs and it's always tucked safely in the back zippered pocket. No back zippered pocket = no bueno for long runs.

Gross...candy cane shorts...

Back pockets get in the way for abs. I've been waiting for months for non-sheer luxtreme crops without a back pocket.

It's looking way too circus carnival for my taste. Had the colors been more muted I think the line would be more appealing. Or perhaps it's the way all the models over-do the matchy matchyness of it all. A little bright or pattern here and there is all you need. Too much and you look like a clown (much like make-up). However, I really like the colors in solids and the hints of the pattern. I dislike when I see people dressed head to toe in all matching/coordinating lulu outfits (headband included), especially this color palette/pattern. I am SO ready for some subtle colors and more emphasis on the unique design and higher quality than we've been seeing this past year or two.

As a diehard runner and Speed Short addict, I was excited to try the Racer Short when I spotted it at my local LLL tonight. Sadly, I found the Racer almost obscenely short and the side slit falls at a strange place, not really on the side, rather about halfway to the middle of my anterior thigh. I tried sizing up for a little more coverage, but the waistband was too large and there was too much swift material gathering awkwardly in the front. Can't wait for some Speeds in plum!

Yes, back pockets may be uncomfortable for people doing core work who are lying on their backs, yoga, etc., but these shorts are being marketed as "running" shorts. As such, they need to have pockets! We runners carry a lot of stuff with us, and it's nice to be able to do a long run or a marathon with pockets to hold our keys, iPods, nutrition, etc. If Lulu is making shorts without back pockets for yogis and cross fit peeps, then they should market them as such. Don't call skirts and shorts sans pockets "running" apparel! I'm a distance runner, and I need pockets! (Which was why I started buying Lulu in the first place!)

My SIL just bought a Tata Topper and had to return it because it started unraveling at the seams! Luckily her Lulu in the Pearl District took it back even though she had already worn it.

@ anon 9:52 pm - ITA, the more pockets the better. Lulu beats the competition with how many pockets they put in their run bottoms. I especially love a zip pocket in the small of my back for my phone. I tried putting my phone in the side zip pocket on the Track Attack shorts when I went on an extended walk and it drove me up a wall so I ended up carrying it.

So true, LLA! The only running shorts with more pockets are Race Ready, and they are aesthetically challenged! (OK, they are butt ugly!) That's why the Lulu running shorts are the best combination of form and function! :)

I think for running long distances, (more than 6 miles) it is nice to have pockets. If the shorts are being used for mixed workouts, it is nice not to have the zipper in the back. that is why I am so into the fast track shorts, I can run on the beach then do body weight exercises with out having to worry about zippers digging in.

This is off topic but has anyone noticed that Lulu is attracting a much younger crowd? I am in my early 30's and the last couple times I have been trying on the same thing as a 12-16 year old girls. Maybe that is why the quality is going down. The spoiled pre-teens get their parents to buy for them and probably aren't as concerned in quality. The ones who are 12 just don't look right in the tight CRB's and No Limit tops, way too revealing for them!
