Multi Groovy Stripe Power Y, Will Crops, and More

I tried on three versions of the Multi Groovy Striped Power Y but didn't find one I loved. I like it in the photos but not on me. I don't know if I'm in a downer mood or something but it just struck me as too bright or maybe too young. I definitely liked the solid Cool Breeze/Power Purple Power Y much better so I went home and ordered the CRB in that color since neither of my stores received that color. The Multi Groovy Striped CRB has hit Canadian stores but is not in the US yet.

I also tried on the Ta Ta Topper Tank and liked it. It struck me as fitting TTS and not overly generously cut for a run tank. It runs smaller than the similar Tame Me Tank.

The Cool Breeze Voyage Sweat Crops look nice with the Multi Striped Tame Me Tank. I think I like this tank better with lighter colored bottoms than black bottoms, which is how I tried it on.

New Will Crops in Soot Light and Power Purple.

Groove Shorts and Pizazz Scoop Swiftly.

Runbeam SS (getting very good reviews on the website and I love mine) and Mod Moves Crops.

Love this combo - Metal Vent Tech Shirt and M Studio Crops.

Have you seen the banner on the website? :)

What colour is the CRB the girl with the orange bag and yoga mat wearing?

I tried on my black WUC that I purchased tonight. So far during the bend over test they are see through. I could see the hang tag. I'm disappointed. I'll try again in the morning. Plus they feel rough and like I said in another comment I'm not sure if that's because I'm used to how soft the charcoal ones are that I've been wearing. Right now I'm about 80% sure I'm taking them back. Will probably just bite the bullet and get the black festival bag I've been eyeing instead.

None of the clothes are really exciting me, but sign me up for that one girl's arms and shoulders!

Soooo the Pizazz swiftly was on the upload but either sold out immediately or was recalled...really? I was actually thinking I might bite on this one. There's something so cheerful about it.

CEO Wanted Apply Within---maintaining their humor

OT but geez those scuba hoodies stretch and lined hood are so childish looking. I had to send the Alberta Lake rose scuba back it's like a borrowed it from my niece. They just keep cranking those puppies out too.

Yes! I saw that come up on the lulu FB page yesterday and was shocked!! Pretty ballsy if you ask me.

Anyway, I agree LLA that the new groovy striped power y is too bright! I'm 40 and I think it is just too bright for me. It hurts my eyes! I'm sure others will look great in it but it is not for me - maybe on MD though.

The will crops are growing on me seeing them on the store models. Its making me think a pair of WUCs in soot light would be awesome.

Also - the ta ta topper looks like it just has too much material and would be really hot.

My first base tank arrives today - finally. I hope I like it.

The CEO job description made me laugh.
My gym had the Free to be bra in Groovy Stripe this morning. I knew it couldn't work as a workout bra but I tried it on,it was really cute. I plan to wear it as a bikini top.

That was a hoot! I've always liked lulu's sense of humour, but I'm sure there are some who would think the CEO job description as "not serious" or even sarcastically arrogant.

On another note, I received my Groovy Stripe Power Y and love the stripe distribution. Phew! Mine looks almost identical to the model's online. I like it! :)

Are they serious about that banner? That is a bit of a bad sign for a company, no?

Anyone else have bleeding issues with the groovy stripe multi? The yellow stripes on my NLT bled all onto the white and cool breeze stripes. Going to have to take it back. :(

Also, feeling a DEFINITE difference between the thickness of my pigment blue Swiftly LS from last fall and my pizzazz Swiftly SL. I feel like I am going to poke a hole through the newer version if I'm not careful, especially in the vented parts.

*Sigh*

The girl in the first pic looks super cute in the Power Y and the Pacesetter skirt! She makes me want that combo!

I finally got my Sand to Savasana bag yesterday and LOVE IT. The price was outrageous but I will definitely use the heck out of it. I love the ipad side pocket. There are a couple of little side pockets that will be helpful for travel. I think its too big (for me) for gym useage. My gym doesn't even have lockers big enough to fit it! But, I will use it a lot for overnight or weekend trips. And, raspberry glo light is such a pretty color. I am a sucker for pinks though.

My BF lives about an hour away so this bag is huge for me as I am constantly driving to see him. This bag is perfect for a short weekend visit.

All the models in these pictures are really attractive, make the lulu stuff look awesome. I feel the same way as you LLA in regards to the power y in the colored stripes, it's not that it is too young in my opinion, but it seems like it could only be worn at the beach or on a yacht.

I wonder if those Will crops are sheer? And is that a spry blue CRB?

Just went and bought the CRB in the groovy multi stripe! I love multi coloured stripes on anything, so I loved it. Bought the Stuff Your Bra in cool breeze and pizzazz to go under it - so cute!

Also was tempted by the Diversity scarf in cool breeze (I'm a sucker for things that match...) but wasn't sure because it's kind of ginormous. Will think about that one...

Also! An educator at my store, when I was telling her I was waiting for the All Sport Bra in groovy multi stripe to come in, told me that they heard they were only going to be online and not in the store (I'm in Nova Scotia in Canada so not sure if that's applicable everywhere). So keep that in mind if you want that bra!

Dear LLA: I am a new reader of your blog. Thanks so much for putting this blog together.

I had a quick questions of the photos on the blog - are these photos that lululemon gives you to promote them or are they photos sent to you by various readers.

Some photos look like they were from the lulu site as I recognize the models others seem like promotional shots so just wanted to get a good sense of what was being presented. Also I see items that say "upload" what does that mean. Sorry if I am a bit behind on this but was just curious.

Great job overall - any plans of broadening out to cover other cool running and yoga companies --- would be great to have one go to place for reviews on all athletic wear.

Was the Pizazz scoop neck swiftly not uploaded or is it already sold out?

love the groove shorts. i tried on a few black pairs in march and they were all sheer. i did just buy my first pair of shorts from lululemon, the se groovy run shorts, hoping they work well for running. i tried on the track attack and they looked like my high school soccer shorts from umbra.

I am wondering the same thing about the multi groovy print - if it is too young for me or not. It is a little Ivvia-ish. I'm going to try the crb when it comes out to decide because I do love the print.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 7:09 am - really? That sucks and I am glad I am passing on this print. I had some color transfer happened recently, too. My Bleach Coral CRB has some lovely purple splotches on it that will not wash out. Since I hang my CRBs by color it got it from either my Raspberry Glo or Pinkelicious CRBs both which have been reported to self-bleed with purple streaks. I am going to try a hot water wash on them to see if I can get the excess dye to come out but for now they are hangning all by their lonesome in the pink ghetto in my closet.

If you missed out on the Festival Bag in nimbus last week, check your store(s) again. My local store got a huge restock of them this week!

Black WUC try-on report...I ran into my local store and grabbed a pair with kids in tow, so brought them home to try-on during nap time. Sadly, they are definitely sheer and not for yoga. I could do a downward dog w/out them going sheer on me, but forget about crow or a full squat for cross fitters! I would say they are back to pre-Pantsgate sheerness - I compared them to a Paris Pink pair I have and they're pretty similar, but no where near the opacity of older crops. (I literally tried on and squatted in every pair I have from 2008-present. Sadly, my truly "vintage" lulu was purchased post-baby no. 1 when I didn't realize I would return to normal and is all one size up from my TTS, so I didn't compare those...)
I'm 90% sure they'll be going back, but honestly, squatting in bright sunlight, they're not much different from a pair of Unicorn Tears (2010? Help me out, LLA...) Pure Move crops I have that I LOVE and wear all the time, previously without feeling self-conscious. I wonder how much of my paranoid squatting is coming from the stigma of sheer yoga pants every time someone sees the Om logo...

@ anon 9:37 am - I have reviewed other athletic wear brands over the years. I've now made a separate page collecting the links to those. Check the pages at the top of the blog.

7:09 here. Yeah, unfortunately, LLA. :( I was reading Cardio Kick Tank reviews awhile back, and there were a couple people who'd experienced that same thing with bleached coral turning purple upon washing. It sounds like there is just something in that dye that causes it to darken, and you probably didn't mishandle it.

Of course, I feel like I spend too much on any given piece to have to worry so much about ruining it.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 11:07/7:09 am - Interesting about Bleached Coral getting its own purple splotches. I've had that happen with Mac N Cheese Yellow years ago. I would get these mysterious blue-green spots in the yellow areas. I had it happen on nearly every item I owned that had yellow on it. I always put it down to my detergent, which is kind of bluish, reacting with the yellow. It would be like one small splotch of blue color per item, too, so very random. Being kind of OCD about the condition of my lulu it drove me crazy.

The spots on the bleached Coral CRB are very faint and near the bottom hem but it annoys me because I like to keep my clothes as nice as possible for resale down the line. Additionally, Bleached Coral is one of my favorite colors to come along in quite a while so it bums me out. I hate when the condition of my lulu is not perfect.

Did we ever see a comparison of bleached coral to pink shell or any other similar shades of pink? I'd love to see a comparison!

Anonymous said...

Regarding the bleached coral: I just returned a bleached coral energy bra to my store no questions asked because mine turned purplish pink when I washed it all those colored areas looked bleached. Oddly I don't usually wear anything over that bra as I wear it for mma fights. The girl at my lulu store said they have had quite a few returns on the color depending on which fabric it was.

I think that is an aquamarine CRB.

Ugh - I have a bleached coral cardio kick tank. I also saw the reviews about it bleeding. So far so good on mine - I have washed it twice. I find that the tank is not bad at all! For me at a 32b chest it seems to make the girls look a little bigger (I wear a run hook me up bra with cups under it but no cups in the tank) and the waist is nice because it's not too tight to show off any muffin top. The mesh back is great.

I think pink shell is a bit more neon than bleached coral. I agree LLA, bleached coral is a really pretty color and looks great with pop orange.

fyi for anyone interested? I use dr. bonners pure castile soap as my laundry soap and have never had any bleeding issues? don't know id this is why or not i didn't use it for that purpose of dye in clothing however i use it because i don't want a bunch of said or unsaid chemicals in my clothing then against my skin then into my blood stream which is wheare they go btw. anyhow i've turned so many people onto that stuff smalls so good while doing your laundry it has real essential oils in it and then never use those fabric softeners either massively harmfull chemicals in them just so you know they also go into our ground water and cause major harm there too!

Anonymous said...

Is that just an aquamarine CRB? I don't think it is Spry Blue (which might be the blue CRB on the LLL banner for bags).

Anonymous said...

I have a bleached coral CRB and have not had any bleeding issues or weird splotches. It's one of my favourite CRB's and has been washed countless times using Tide or Cheer.

dr bronners soap leaves too many residues on fabric and hair. it keeps the cloth from breathing. at least in my experience. I like it for my skin.
