So disappointed LLL I was waiting all summer for your golf line and I'm not impressed. Drab colors. Skirts too short. Frumpy fit.
I wear the pacesetter tall skirts and I can get by with them on public courses. My other skirts are a few inches above the knee.
I was EXPECTING an awesome color pallet of polos....maybe a swiftly polo. Bermuda shorts (check). Another skirt that is a little more modest in length than the pacesetter tall, but just as bright and fun.
Lulu, you could have dominated this market, especially since its one that lacks cute clothes. Lija is the only brand that comes close. Instead you gave us frumpy polos, drab colors, and shorts too short god any course....hello squating at the green....always a disappointment LLL.
Why do I keep reading Hot Hitter as Hot Hitler?
As for the clothes themselves, I'm neither a golfer not tennis player so I can't comment on them.
Seriously?? See through golf shorts?? The teal looks completely see through, ugh!
The aquamarine (?) shorts look very sheer. See the pocket from the back view?
What a letdown LLL. I was looking forward to this for MONTHS! Where are the bright polos, fitted tops, and cute skirts?
Really LLL...How could you f*ck this up? BAM...add a collar to a swiftly. Make a pacesetter like skirt, but a little longer...maybe even add a snap for a glove. Its not that hard.
Instead you have ill-fitting sleeveless polos, no bright colors, and skirts too short.
As a golfer... I'm digging the golf stuff! The tank is really cute, I love the detail on the back.
The hot hitter dress is really cute and flattering! I'm not sure about it's functionality for golf or tennis, but I would totally wear that as casual wear in the summer. Love the open back, higher coverage front, and A-line skirt. Not a fan of the polo.
@ anon 2:32 pm - I do, too! I keep fearing I am going to type it that way - lol.
@ anon 2:10 pm - I really like the Lija style stuff - so playful with the stripes and plaids and pink - yet very "golf-y.". Lulu has lots of fun stripes, plaids, and pinks - they definitely could have given Lija a run for their money. Maybe next year they won't be so timid with their designs.
2:32. I have the same problem! :-)
LLA, Quality wise there is no way Lulu would have given Lija a run for their money. Lija clothing is substantially solid and made to last with no pilling, no see through, no bad stitching, no runny dyes. You must not own a piece, but why would you if you don't play golf or tennis?
Lija also has a sophistication that you won't see teenagers wearing....which you will most definitely see teenagers wearing this stuff, because it's not serious "sports"wear, and in comparison it's cheap (in every sense of the word).
I really wish LLL would do what they "used to do best". Run, yoga/dance, gym....and a few street to studio pieces. Quit trying to be everything to everybody. An inch wide and a mile deep worked so well for so long.
Which is why I really can't figure out why anybody would want to wear a tennis dress to run in? WTH? Would you run in a pair of cycling shorts? Would you run in a bathing suit? C'mon on.
I think this golf line is drab and I won't be buying anything. Yes golf courses have dress codes but I find it pretty sad that this is the best LLL can do with a golf line. Such a formerly innovative company now.
this line underscores why i would never play golf
I keep reading "hot hitler" by mistake!! Anyone else?
i keep reading it as "hot hitler" too, and can't help wondering if that's not intentional, after the things i've heard about the company's founder and why they picked the name "lululemon". (paranoid much?)
Has anyone tried any of Glyder's gear, it looks OK, apart from a lot of styles being sold out and the prices aren't that bad, they also ship to Canada for not too much money.
Does anyone have any real life experience with their clothes please?
I've been reading it that way too! Weird.
Do you think the U.S. Side will get the soot clarity scarf tonight or are we just not going to get it?
Do those that have seen it like it?
Is this a dress or a top + a skirt? coz the material looked different. The skirt looks much thinner than the top, especially in the last pic, the girl in the white hot hitter dress...
@ anon 5:38 pm - I meant give them a run for money when it comes to colors and patterns. You're right, I can't comment on LIJA's quality wrt to lululemon's since I don't own any (yet). Now that people are really talking it up, I definitely want to check them out. I agree about going back to yoga, run, and apres wear. They've pretty much abandoned the yoga side when it comes to coming out with numerous new tank designs and the wraps have been MIA for months now.
I think lll is trying to move the sports fashion FORWARD, telling us what we need, just like the apple. lol.
Lulu fan here since day one....when no one even heard of them. seriously, its ALL ugly!! ALL OF IT! :( And me too.....I thought there was something WRONG with my head! LOL I keep reading "hot hitler!" Ugh..... The shorts remind me of the grannie shorts my 90 year old neighbour wore around to do her gardening! AWFUL.... Its no wonder Ive been only buying waterbottles, underwear and hats from Lulu this past year!! I was thinking yesterday actually, " WHERE are all the wraps???" MIA & WTF?! I hear their new golf line capsule is going to be called, "WTF Hot Mess!"
LLA, I love and value your blog, and no disrespect, but Lulu compared to Lija, hasn't put out a sophisticated color or pattern/print in....forever! LLL fans/addicts are always wanting more pink, more green, check out the model view on this tank/skirt/visor! Pink, green and yellow, gorgeous, and fashion forward.

And it's okay. LLL should be making yoga clothes with a touch of upscale bohemia, and run clothing with technical, feminine and sporty detail, which they had done in the past. We are comparing apples and oranges.
Just as serious athletes competing in many sports have commented here on your blog about cycling, run, dance,(remember the tu tu?) and now golf and tennis, LLL is trying to cater to wanna-be's. It was fun for a while, but get back to what your core clientele needs, and wants!
It's not rocket surgery for God's sake!
I keep reading "Hot Hitter" the wrong way too. Glad it's not just me! Not digging this line at all. It's cool that LLL is trying to venture into other sports, but I wish the company would focus on mitigating quality concerns in the existing lines before branching out like this.
I guess it's all kind of cute but since these are not my sports none of it tempts me. That's a good thing!
I like the shape of the dress, but don't currently play tennis or golf, so it would be casual wear for me. I want to like the sleeveless, but it's pulling all over the place. In my experience, when a top pulls across the buttons like that, it's too small. I'd love to see the Bermudas in person, but they rarely flatter my shape.
@ 6:04 PM, what a silly comment. Golf is actually a very challenging sport and some women do look great doing it.
Saw the Hot Hitter polo at the Metrotown mall and thought it would make a nice casual tank until I noticed the strip of "fabric" with the button holes is actually a strip of rubbery plastic. That ended my interest in the top. Why not a strip of ribbon or something attractive??? And as mentioned previously, the white is see-through. Poor, poor, poor.
Went to Ivivva at Park Royal (first visit to Ivivva) to try on their tanks and tees since other followers to the blog have noted that size 4 LLL can were size 14 Ivivva. A tank in Size 14 did indeed fit, was a little looser in the tummy area and seemed plenty long. However, the cut on was higher in the back and the tank rubbed on my shoulder blades - which was uncomfortable. The cut on the front was higher too - but that was fine. Also tried the Ivivva "swiftly" ls. It was considerably thicker than the LLL swiftly which made it too warm for me. The Ed said it would not be as delicate as the LLL swiftly. The length was shorter but wearable length. The real plus was that the cuff was stretchy so it could be pulled up the arm somewhat and expose your wrist to help cooling during a run. The blue was a nice colour but I left without buying anything.
In fact, I had $250 gift card and visited two LLL stores and the Ivivva and could fine one thing to buy. What a sorry state of affairs LLL has brought themselves to.
I like the bermudas, hopefully the white and mint aren't see through....
OT but has anyone seen the Serene pant in a GTA store recently? I was told that neither Yorkville nor Eaton Centre ever got them in....
I never read anything but "Hot Hitter" until people here started saying what they think it says.
7:26, "rocket surgery", no. Surely you meant "rocket science".
Sorry if my comments come off as a schoolmarm. I'm not one and intend no offense.
When I was in the store today, the educator must have noticed my expression when I was looking at those Bermuda shorts. She said "they're cute when you roll them up." Not quite the golf style I was going for!
OT - has anyone heard when they will be re-stocking "non-sheer" black pants of any kind? I need a new pair of WUC. Educators just keep saying June.
@ anon 8:43 pm - I heard black pants are supposed to be back in stock by June 1.
Lol! I read that "rocket surgery" and thought... I hope they meant rocket science!
The only problem I have with Lija is their website. When they don't have store near me, they should make their website as easy and detailed as possible, like more product pictures, 360 degree pictures with details, like lll. I like their design they look classy but if I'm to order that price sportswear online without trying it, and have to pay shipping both ways, they better make it more tempting.
Surely these models are not flabby but why are all the outfits accentuating their stomachs...and NOT in a good way at all.
I looked at the lija site and I really don't see that big a difference in the skirts and tops. I think the colors they offer are not anything special, and the fabrics seem to be the same as lulu nylon and spandex. The shorts don't look that different either. I think all these companies just copy each other.
I don't golf or play tennis. So take my opinion with a grain of salt.

"Rocket surgery" is a common term that parodies "rocket science" and "brain surgery". It's meant to be ironic. Has no one else heard this before? I am not the person who originally posted it by the way.
@10:47
I've never heard the term before... learn something new everyday!
Anon 8:15, It was a joke! "Rocket Surgery" is Rocket Science and Brain Surgery combined....DUH!
I would love to buy your rally bag from you if at all possible. I have been looking for it EVERYWHERE and can not find it online. This would be great, thanks! Please email me at veronicaalyse@gmail.com
