Transparent-See Jacket Arriving in Stores

New Very Green (I think) version of the Transparent-See jacket is coming. I posted about this new jacket a couple of weeks ago.  Media articles said this jacket is priced at $108.

Ugh..Looks like a too-short form of birth control...

I'm maintaining that Sheree's canning is symbolic, maybe the market agrees with me since shares slid in after hours. I am proposing a true commitment to change: canning all the products during her reign that sucked, such as the one above.

This is god awful! It's so terrible:smh:
Day needs to leave, buh-bye!

Fabulous. Just what I never needed. Bets are this hits loot in the next month or so, dropping the price to ~$69. Still wouldn't buy it though.

Pass. Not interested at all. LLL design takes another tumble/shortcut with this jacket; it looks dumpy. I have the Run Nothing to Hide Jacket, which is a technically great jacket for a number of conditions, including its breathability. It also looks great, i.e. design.

@ Anon 5:19 pm - they had to have someone take the fall. I still hope Day gets shown the door soon. I hope they don't choose some other person solely because they have a uterus (which is how Day was chosen from that March 8th Globe and Mail piece - quote "At the time of Ms. Day’s appointment as CEO, Mr. Wilson said he wanted a woman to head the company. ") and look for someone with a background in apparel & manufacturing, from a company with a commitment to quality and a proven track record. Maybe they can hire the same guy that turned around Starbucks - Howard Schultz)

It would be nice if they chose someone who "gets" what the core customer loves about the product and sees the product and the changes from a customer point of view. I am just not getting that with the current management. They have women in charge yet they don't ever think like consumers which is just baffling to me, since women do 80% of the consuming in households. They are very out of touch with their customer.

I liked the run jackets from last summer waaaay better... Should've gotten one then... This doesn't flatter at all :(

Schultz was able to turn around Starbucks because he was one of the founders of Starbucks. I agree that LLL needs someone LIKE him, but definitely not him... Especially because, as a former Starbuck's employee of 5 years, he has pulled away from his claims of "espresso excellence".

I completely agree. We need someone based on merit, not reproductive organs :P We shall see if there are any noticeable changes in the next few months.

Hmmmm...this transparent jacket should go nicely with my Power Luxtreme crops that Lulu claims "are not sheer" and "not part of the recall."

That's hideous!
I picked up a No Limits tank on the sale rack today for $29. That was exciting... I also got the Stash & Dash pullover. It's priced way too high at $128, but it's so nice and I really need something like it. I tried on the Practice Freely tank, and it was just awful compared to last year's version! I think the V-neck style that I have from last year is just so much prettier. I admit that the coverage was lacking, but I don't think the coverage on this year's version is a big improvement. The bra fits much tighter too! Ugh! I looked like I have back fat even though I really don't.

@ Seattlite - Interesting. Isn't that what Apple had to do, too? Bring back Steve Jobs? Maybe Chip Wilson needs to come back, at least as the creative vision. However, he's a billionaire so why would he bother other than as an ego thing?

Seattlite said...

haha Schultz came back as an ego thing.. pretty sure same with Job.. So there is hope! ;) If he has as big of a head as those two men (and I mean that in the nicest way.. I have met Schultz on several occasions and he is a VERY sweet, genuine, modest man) then he will want to nurse his baby Lululemon back to health.
*fingers crossed* :)

I bought the wagon stripe inkwell/inkwell speed shorts today. They are nice.

I looked at the new Swifty v-necks and did not like them. I don't like the feel of the material. It seems more durable than the traditional Swiftly, but it just wasn't nice, imo. I really like Very Green and wish it would come in a CRB! I would order the Power Y in VG but I don't like built in anything anymore. (I'm light support and prefer a soft bra and CRB.)

This reminds me of the god awful ponchos you have to buy at Disney when it starts to rain. Except $102 more expensive. Terrible- cheap looking and unflattering. Here's hoping some new key team members turn this around.

Last year (or maybe the year before...idk) I got one of the Translu jackets with a mesh back and a little ruffle around the hem, the name escapes me now...I went back and forth on it forever but ended up getting it in black. It is super flattering and has held up well and is a good jacket for spring/summer for when its sprinkling out, to and from the gym or whenever you want to give your arms some coverage and it is surprisingly warm considering the material its made of. I get a lot more wear out of it than I thought I would. That being said, I'm not a fan of this design...nowhere near as nice/flattering as the one I have.

Seattlite, Jobs did not come back because of ego. Apple ousted him and he formed NeXT computer. Apple lots its way, didn't achieve success in a number of ways. NeXT computers were too expensive and NeXT wasn't going to make it on its own (Jobs spend a lot of his own cash to develop it and keep it alive) but NeXT had an operating system that Apple wanted. They bought NeXT and with it, back came Jobs. The NeXT operating system is what is now known as Mac OS. Yes, the rest is history.

The Walter Isaacson biography of Jobs is fascinating and very telling.

Yes, these comments are written through a Mac.

Oh my, it does look like a prophylactic. Sigh.

This reminds me of a rain jacket I had in the 6th grade (I'm 42 now) and I was embarrassed to wear it back then! I used to hide it in my backpack after I left the house!

Oh god, this is not cute.

Are those inkwell speeds 2 or 4 way stretch? Thx!

Any idea what time the WMTM section gets updated now? Used to be first thing Thurs. morning by the time I get up on the East Coast. Thanks.

So glad I bought my Run Wild jacket last year (with see-thru mesh detailing, a curvy silhouette, low coverage, and a ruffle on the "tail").

Q: Where do you guys get your insider info on LLL?

I read this blog, but don't know of other sources. I simply find this stuff fascinating. I buy LLL (when there's cute ruffly, ruched, intricate detailing) but LOVE learning about it's history and am entertained (not by pocket) by all the silliness going on now.

What is going on with the loot uploads...is it now thursday nights? Anyone?

i actually like the jacket! it looks like a less expensive version of patagonia's houdini jacket. super light, super simple. i'm going to be excited to try it out. however, i will not be paying $100+ for it since i have a feeling it will go to MD

All this too-sheer, too-short crap is made specifically to make buyers "need" to buy extra pieces for layering.
Extra thin thongs and undies, and extra long tops came out at the same time as the sheer bottoms. Now there are extra short tops that "look good with a tank layered underneath." Instead of one quality item, you need to purchase a couple of other items to make the original look decent.

Agreed, this jacket is LAME!! I got two Run Wild jackets last year (white and concord) when they went to WMTM last year. I get compliments every time I wear, fantastic, girly jacket and also comfy to run in. I also got the Run nothing to hide on markdown in Flash light for running visibility. Love that one too. I was tempted by the zap stash and dash pullover, but way overpriced and I didn't like that the hood didn't cinch. At least the new jacket has that feature, but otherwise a boring design.
There is a transparent green xersion jacket on the JCPenney site that is much cuter than this one and I think its only $25-$30 dollars.

These will go great with the new Transparent-see white wunder under crops. Awful. Check your Facebook inbox-- I sent you pics.

Am I the only one who likes this? I don't like the green necessarily but I like the idea of a thin breathable running rain jacket.

I am in the Nike running club in NYC and there were 2 girls last week wearing jackets that looked very similar to this except they were white, don't know what brand they were. Maybe it's a new trend.

The v neck swiftly is a bit thinner than my long sleeve swiftlys. It's very tight so I sized up from an 8 to 10. If they had the 12 I might have even liked that fit more.

Anonymous said...

not sure if I would pay $5 for this.

OT but I stopped by today to look at the V Neck Swiftly in Very Green - the Educator (ironic) told me that they were flying off the shelf (even though they had lots and all sizes are still available online). I mentioned that it was a shame that the Very Green had not come out in a CRB, Power Y etc because they are popular styles and a lot of people would like them in that color - to which she replied 'you must spend too much time reading things on the computer'.
If she's passing feedback to Head Office we all need to find a new brand!
Left without the Swiftly - apart from Miss Personality annoying me - I found it a bit meh on me.

PS YES! Finally a decent upload.. I got a new Flow Y bra in the Beaming blue I have been dying for.. And I am giving the free to be a second chance by sizing up. I love that yellow! :)
And I grabbed the inspires.. I did the bright colors.. It pushes me outside my comfort zone.

I'm annoyed that the grooves I just bought last week are now on sale.. This is why I try not to buy anything at full price -__-

No Paige, you're not the only one who likes it. I like it to some degree as well. Nike, Patagonia, and North Face have all long come out with transparent lightweight jackets like these for running purposes, especially for warmer temps. I like the Lulul color but agree that it could be a bit less schlumpy and more figure flattering.

Anonymous said...

OT - I was at my local store today and checked out the Beach Runner crops out of curiosity. I saw the Wee r from space blue color way and the black/very green. They were both ridiculously thin and sheer! Not even tempted to try them on. How does Lulu get away with this, especially after the "bad batch of Luon" fiasco? IMO these should never have made it through QA inspection.

Anonymous said...

No Paige, you're not the only one who likes the jacket. Nike, Patagonia, and North Face have all come out with lightweight jackets similar to this for running and hiking purposes. The only problem with this particular Lulu iteration is that it isn't that figure flattering...but I like the color and in this instance, I think the sheerness is fun especially for spring and summer runs where this a chance of rain.

WMTM seems to change every so often. They most often have fresh loot when you wake up Thurs morn. But then they'll throw in a Wed evening or Friday night. I even remember last spring when there was a period of a few weeks with no new loot.

I understand switching up the time and day to keep us going to their site, but no fresh loot is silly. They still make $$ off of loot.

If you look through the site, there are lots of potentials... Older stuff needing to be cleared out.

I've even called it a couple times by watching something I wanted to make sure the size was still available waiting to pull the trigger. Then the item disappears suddenly. The next day... Boom! WMTM! Glad I didn't shoot! Saved $$!

@ anon 11:35 am- what a weird thing to say. I thought LLL "<3's feedback". They have to be stupid not to know people want a solid Very Green Cool Racerback to come out again. BTW, there was a solid Very Green Power Y uploaded to the Canadian side of the website but not the US.

Had some time today to check out the latest offerings:

-Very Green Energy Bra. Absolutely gorgeous in person. I had store credit and left with this. LOVE VG in person!!!

-Very Green V Neck Swiftly. Okay, though felt thin. Picked this up too, but it may go back.

-Mile A Minute Tank: Made w/ cheap thin luxtreme, easy pass. No support in the bust and the seams buckled and didn't lay flat. The bottom portion fit large for my normal size 4. Compared to my other luxtreme tanks, Push Your Limit and Swift Tanks, this was a definite no-go.

-Pinkelicious Pace Crops - Holy sheer, cheap luxtreme. No compression and highlighted every lump and bump. The size tag showed through the back without bending over in my regular 4 and in the 6 when I attempted to size up. The waist was too baggy on the 6, so I'd say they run TTSS (True to Size SHEER).

@ 11:18 PM, the inkwell wagon stripe speed shorts are 2-way stretch.

Anonymous said...

The inkwell wagon stripe speed shorts fit smaller than the pop orange wagon stripe ones that I bought 2 weeks ago. Little disappointed.

I wish they would bring back more earthy colors like wren, the bubble gum colors are interesting, but a variation would be really nice

According to lulumum, lulu came out with a transparent run jacket in 2010, and it ended up on MD for $19. So, if you like this one, it may really pay off to be patient.

I'm also very bummed that there will be no very green CRB. I would have bought that without even thinking about it!

I tried on the pinkalicious pace crops today. They were thicker feeling than I expected. In comparison to the beach runner crops and the inspires they have been producing lately, which are thinner with less compression...I'd have to say I was a little impressed with the pinkalicous pace crops. Mild compression, "substantial" amount of thickness in material. Yes, I could see the outline of the white hang tag, but that doesn't stay in there anyways...I was wearing a black thong, which I could not see doing my bend over test.
I didn't purchase though..bc I wasn't feeling I loved them and immediately needed them in my collection.

I've looked at the yogasmoga site and am curious..for those who own a pair...does the material resemble luon or Luxtreme? Thabks

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 8:34 pm - the yogasmoga material is like luon
