I need a new pair of Speed Shorts (my dog ate my favorite pair!), and these new colors are really cute, but I'm afraid to buy them because of the sheerness factor. I can actually see the liner through the shorts on some of the photos on lulu's site (rear view of aquamarine and petite dot fresh teal, for example). Makes me sad because I used to have total faith in the quality of lulu's products.

Has anybody tried the WFS Inspires? Sheer?
Thanks!!!

Ugh I am so disappointed with these new tame mes...I feel like these are the worst combination of colors EVER. I am not a picky lulu buyer and love the tame me so I pretty much would have gone for anything - wagon stripe very green on very green, Space dye very green on very green, solid green on green, but these lighter on top, saturated color on bottoms really draw attention to the midsection. Sad.

Hi ladies,

For those whose YS orders are still "processing" -- I bought my second pair on Friday, and JUST got the email that they have been shipped. My first order number was like "10000050" or something. My second order is "10001203" (ish). Point is, in 2 weeks, they have had more than a thousand new orders. So the delay in shipping out the product is to be expected :)

Yes, tuck the receipt in the pocket of that Fresh Teal Silver Lining Tank as you will want to return it.

LLL has clearly lost their mind.........and these girls clearly do not own mirrors!! Seriously so fugly :(((((

Wow I don't think I've seen an uglier collection of clothes!

Anonymous said...

Wow.... So fugly... I'm seriously amazed/jaw dropping over how ugly it all is... except a very few items.

OT - just received my YS crops and everything we've read is true. They are amazing. The fabric, stitching and details are top notch. On the front left side of the crop is an inner pocket made from Aurum+ fabric and mesh. The mesh has a lovely embossed circle pattern. The stay and hide pocket in the back has gold stitching detail that is also lovely. I'm a true size 8 in lulu and was worried about sizing with YS. I sent in my measurements and the designer suggested a size 6. Well, they fit like a glove and with actual compression. No tightness, no muffin top, no see through action and no shininess. I can't wait to see how the perform in hot yoga and on a 5k run tomorrow. For reference, I'm a muscular 5'7" with a 28.5" waist, 22" thighs and 39" hips. I wanted the waist snug enough for running. Off to order the tippy toe legging with my LLA discount.

I just got my new speed shorts in the mail: beach blanket blue and parfait pink/pinkelicious. Unfortunately I could see the liner in the parfait pink ones so those are going back. The beach blanket ones are just fine!

All these ladies have normal, healthy looking bodies, but the sheerness of the clothes make them look like they have tummies and bra bulges! Just goes to show how crappy the fabrics are now. Like the top photo of the Tame Me tank in Parfait Pink - you see exactly how high the rise of the black pants are. Then that same model wearing the Fresh Teal pullover with her arms raised in the air. It is so sheer, you see the lines in front of her chest and around the tummy. She has a great body, but these clothes look awful! Could not pay me to wear them!

Also, I am peeved about the Breeze By skirt. It is $16 more than the Pace Setter but it is easier to construct - look at the stupid elastic waist, and the pockets underneath that have no zippers. No vertical seaming or individual pleating. Cheaply made but jacked up price. Are they insane? No, that would be an insult to the mentally impaired.

I tried the WFS inspires today (with hot pink undies on) and I did not think they were sheer. I thought the fabric felt a little thicker and had more compression than recent pairs.

Has anyone tried zobha straight leg capris? Do you like them? I am a lululemon 6 in pants. Comparable? Also excited to get my YS pants!

There is simply no silver lining with those hideous tops. I really hope lulu fixes all of their issues, but I am taking my money elsewhere right now.

Can't wait for the Forme jacket in Aquamarine! Discovered it on the Australia LLL site so it should be in the next couple of uploads. Love almost anything LLL Aquamarine

@ anon 7:03 pm - Glad I didn't steer you wrong. I am liking wearing Yogasmoga bottoms for running more and more. I like the compressive sensation and they are so breathable. Today I wore leggings and a Yantra tank for an indoor 3 mile run. I can't believe how relatively cool I felt. I would have never wore a CRB and Energize pants for a run like that inside. I cannot wait until that longer Yantra tank comes out. I just love the fabric.

I will say I wore YS leggings outside to watch my kid's soccer game in 59 degree weather and felt the breeze right through my legs so for lounging/casual on chillier days I like lulu but for sweating YS is really winning me over.

Annie must be working around the clock. I wrote an email asking for a code at around 8:30pm PST and she emailed back with a code just before 10pm PST. That's 1am for her!!

I'm excited to give yogasmoga leggings a try. Did most of u ladies stay with your Lulu size? Or size down?

We're having late night tornadoes over here, so I did a little retail therapy....arm warmers on WMTM. Got the black, thinking about the yellow. Love me a good arm warmer!

LuluAddict said...

@ Jamie - I am thinking about the arm warmers, too. Not sure whether to pull the trigger

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 10:16 pm - I think she is. She sent me an email late last night explaining the pre-order process - it's almost like a custom order where they have a team dedicated to pre-orders to walk them through the process and airlift fabric to the manufacturer to get it out quicker so that is why they want payment up front. You can still return items withing 30 days of the ship date. They also have a domestic factory nearly on line. She said they have been a little slow in filling the orders lately because they are double checking what they send out for things like loose threads - they know what perfectionists you all are - and even steaming pieces if they look too wrinkled.

I am reading a lot people have sized down because they find the waistbands a little wider than their lululemon size.

I placed my order on Sunday and it was shipped (early) this morning. Got an email that it will be delivered tomorrow! Sooo happy with their customer service that I sent a tweet about it! :-)

Got my Yogasmoga Slimmie pants in the mail last night. As usual, what people have already said in comments here was exactly true. The fabric feels like old Lulu! I stayed with the same size I would wear in Groove pants (10) and I think I got the right size. My one complaint (which other people have already mentioned) is the logo size and placement. TOO BIG! TOO PROMINENT! Other than that, I'm in love and I wish I could wear my new pants to work - I do not want to take them off!!!

Anonymous said...

@10:16 PM I stayed with a size 4 in YS (what I wear in LL bottoms) due to the hip measurement. I'm concerned though that the waist may be too loose. They're back ordered of course, so I will have to wait and see. (I can see they are working hard to fulfill orders!)

Anonymous said...

@ Verna 4:34 - oh no, your dog ate your SS! The inkwell wagon stripe speeds are nice and not see-through.

Anonymous said...

Got my Yogasmoga pants yesterday and they are awesome! The free shipping took two days. I got a handwritten note from Annie and a button. That poor woman probably has not slept for a week. Seams and stitching are so good. I really like the fabric. I got the black with boy blue waistband and I LOVE the boy blue color. I am between 6 and 8 in LLL and I got 8s... they are a little looser at the waistband than LLL but the thighs are tighter and I'm just planning to use them for casual wear and yoga. I normally have to have groove pants hemmed but these were perfect (I am 5'6'') so may be a little short on others. I just did my second order for crops, which I plan to run in, so I ordered a 6. Can't wait!

mrsivrytckler said...

the girl in the first picture is running without a sports bra? I bought this tame me tank and it has no cups or support, it's impossible to run without a sports bra in it. This pic is not believable!!

Anonymous said...

@mrsivryckler: The Ta Ta Tamer bra was made to be worn under this tank (if you don't want any portions of the bra to be visible).

Usually I wear the Energy bra with this tank so the bra straps are visible from the back.

mrsivrytckler said...

@luluaddict 9:24 PM, wow I can't wait to have my YS pants shipped out! Which lulu fabric is Yantra tank mostly close to? The fabric looks kinda thick on the website and it looks a bit short for me, so I was holding back my wallet , but you made me want to try it now.

My gym had Beach Blanket Blue/Beaming Blue inspires and black with Pinkalicious with a WAFS waistband. Also tried on the reversible Pinkalicious/Parfait pink WUs and they are sheer. You could see my underwear and the tag. Took a picture so I could see. Oh well.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know what those black shorts are with the drish tshirt?

Anonymous said...

Soooo, in defense of the Tame Me Tank - you are meant to wear your own bra under it! I wear Ta Ta Tamers to run and bought this tank in black a couple weeks ago and love it! The cut is awesome, the Ta Ta Tamer does not show, and it is very, very comfortable. It does look a bit like maternity wear (I know, having just had three kids in the past couple year inc. twins). I've done a lot of runs in it and I love it. I really want another one in Parfait Pink but have not seen it in store yet and am wondering about the color. I saw the LS swirly in parfait pink at my store a couple weeks back and it had this dingy, almost grayish tinge. Can anyone describe how the color looks on the Tame Me? Thanks!

I ordered my ys yesterday morning (pt). Awoke to email saying they were shipping today. Yay!! I kept with my lll size 8. I'm a solid size 8 "in real life", 29 jeans. One, since I was ordering the tickled pink crop I was still very hesitant on what the back if my thighs were gonna look like (lll nearly caused me to cry in dressing room) and two, I don't run, I spin, cardio barre, Pilates and yoga. I've never had an issue with falling down unless they were older pants or size too big. I'm going to see how they fit before I order the India blue crop which I may be able to size down for. Hopefully pants arrive Saturday so I can wear to spin Sunday. I spin in heated room and after lll fiasco of orange on my cream top from shorts I'm gonna stick with a dark top just in case color bleeding.

Just to let everyone know the speed shorts pictured as well as the beach blanket blue ones are all 2 way swift fabric. the pink ones especially feel very polyestery.

I found the arm warmers way too tight and I think I have tiny arms. You may want to go to the store and try these on before purchasing. I much prefer the cycling arm warmers from last year.

LuluAddict said...

@ 7:15 am - It's really not like any lulu fabric. The Yantra tank is made of the same exact fabric as the pants. I guess you could say maybe it's like luon because of the weight, thickness, and coverage but with much better wicking and breathability than luon - it's much cooler than a full weight luon tank. It's kind of like luxtreme in cooling you down but it never feels wet or sticky against your skin and you don't have to wait until it gets wet for it to start cooling you.

Anonymous said...

@DG
Parfait pink in the tame me tank is dingy...not bright. Quite dulll...pale pink but not a pretty pale pink (like pig pink was last year).
I wear my engage bra with the tame me tank.
I have a pretty flat tummy and I think this is a lovely top for myself as well. All preference :)

Anonymous said...

LLA: thanks for the information about wicking on the aurum+ fabric. That helped with my decision about purchasing from YS. I find luon wicking to be slow, and makes me feel stuffy. I don't have a problem with the tops, just my legs! Anyways, I'm waiting for my tickled pink crops in size 2... Hoping everything meets what I keep hearing :)

Anonymous said...

If LLL is going to start a maternity line, I'd say that they're off to a good start!

I ordered the Tickled Pink YS crops in a size 6 this morning. They were out of the size 6 in blue so I went with the pink! I'm really excited to try them! I hope the pink ones aren't sheer (like someone had mentioned), but if they are, at least I'll have a good idea about the sizing.

PLEASE HELP-SIZING ON SPEED SHORTS.
I have speeds, only in black, size 4, they fit great. But, I keep reading that the prints are running much smaller, due to the 2 way vs. 4 way stretch thing. Do, I need to order my speeds, in the wee space or any other print for that matter in a size 4? For reference, I am 5'5, 105 lbs. I wear 4's in turbos, I wear 2's in pace setters, 2's in WU's and Inspires I have 2's and 4's. Thanks in advance-I have to order online, no store that nearby.

Seattlite said...

Anon 10:49am

I would the wee space inkwell speeds in a size 8. I'm usually a 4-6 in bottoms. They fit just fine, but I'm pretty sure I could have stuck with my suual 6 with no problem.
I would stick with your regular size, if the inkwell is what you're going to get.

Anonymous said...

I wear speed shorts in size 4 for both 2 way and 4 way stretch and don't have any issues... I am 5' 4" and 112# for reference

Anonymous said...

I have the black ss and over 15 of the prints and all are size 2. I am 5'4 and 105 lbs 33 inch hips. I wear a 2 in all lll bottoms. I feel all my shorts fit the same, even the new colors

I just had the most frustrating experience with my local store here in NYC. I just purchased new still pants maybe six weeks ago. I have only worn them a few times and the waistband started to roll already (I baby them too - wash on gentle; hang dry). After rolling twice between maybe five wears, I decided to take them to the store today to see what they could do. Well, they could not have been more difficult to deal with. The first ed who helped me was actually semi-nice and trying to be helpful. She told me to just get a new pair and bring them up to the register and explain the situation. Great, I think. Well, the ed working the cash register was AWFUL! She told me this is what happens to SWEATPANTS with drawstrings - she said haven't you had sweatpants before? I said yes I actually own $20 sweatpants where the waistband doesn't roll over, yet these almost brand new $98 SWEATPANTS (her word, not mine) roll over each time I wear them. Then she looked at a new pair and said look, these are rolling too. Like I was supposed to think a rolled waistband is NORMAL?!?! Anyway, it took about 10 minutes but she finally let me replace my pair. Their customer service is AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL. I have probably spent about $4,000 in the past year and I keep defending LLL and supporting LLL but it is getting REALLY HARD!

Anonymous said...

A anon 10:49AM - you should still take a size 4 in speeds i'd say! I am 5'6 120 lbs and i can still take speeds in a 4 even in the 2 way pattens like the spring has sprung.

Anonymous said...

Thank you! Such a shame. I am such a sucker for a really pretty pale pink.

@ anon 11:47 am - Interesting!!! Very interesting article.

I haven't received my YS items yet but I will say I can't stand the navigation of their website. It's pretty and all, but it's very difficult to browse products.

Anonymous said...

I think their service is just very inconsistent. I had a ~5 yr old jacket where the zipper had not worked for most of the time I owned it. I was always too lazy to do anything it. I took it in 2 weeks ago and even though it's old, the woman without hesitating said I had two options - 1) choose another jacket (any jacket) off the floor to replace it for free or 2) if I really loved it, I could have them send it back to HQ to replace the zipper.

She even encouraged me to take #1 since it could take 4-6 weeks to fix. I didn't love the jacket anyway, so i quickly grabbed a forme jacket and was outta there in < 10 min.

I tried out my YS crop today (run 'n' play?? Or jump?) and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!! I ended up just getting the plain black (Lulu has scarred me with their colorful bottoms and now I have trust issues! ;). I go between a 6 and 8 in Lulu's bottoms and I went with a 6 in these and I'm really glad I did. Like someone else mentioned... my legs fit in the 8 with Lulu but the waist slides down. Not with YS. I'm a solid 6. These are super comfy, dark, compressive, did not restrict movement, no camel toe. I just felt covered and supported. I ran 5 miles in them along with circuit weight training. I will be ordering another pair. And to all of you who are waiting for yours....it's TOTALLY worth it! You will be so pleased and I can't believe I've sucuumbed to some of Lulu's crops lately. These are worth the $98.

Anonymous said...

Thanks everyone on the input for the speed short sizing:) I'm going to stick with my size 4 in speeds. I was concerned after reading the reviews online that I might need to order them in a 6, but it seems that I can stick
with my usual size of 4 in the patterns. This forum is beyond helpful, hence why I posted my question here. Thanks LLA for all that you do here with this blog!!!!

mrsivrytckler said...

@LLA, thank you for your info on Yantra fabric, it sounds awesome. I'll try it once my yogi bucks are rewarded.

I'm always a size 6 in WU pants/crops, but I ordered size 4 for YS's pants & crops according to their size chart. But just 5 mins earlier, I realized that both companies have exactly the same size chart! Does it mean I am also size 6 in YS? would 4 be too small? Does anyone know how to change size in a processing order? ...

Anonymous said...

So YS update. I'm generally a 6/8 in Lulu (6 in grooves, 8 in tighter pants like WU/WUC) and ordered a 6 from YS. The crops fit well and don't slip down in the waist. I like the thick fabric, and it gives good coverage, with no underwear lines and sheerness. However, I noticed loose strings on the seam of one of the pant legs, and the seam started unravelling when I pulled them. Bummer!

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 1:02 pm - I agree. I wish there was a shortcut that could just jump you to the clothes. Now that I've been there a few times I don't need the intro stuff.

Anonymous said...

Try on Report: white WAFS inspires are nice- much thicker/compressive than other recent inspires, including the inkwell WAFS ones which I found sheer. No muffin top or sheerness in my TTS 8, however since they are a lighter color they do show any cellulite you may have.

The new speeds (pinkelicious, beach blanket blue, WAFS) are very small! Definitely size up from your usual speed size. I usually take a 10 in speeds which are a tad loose, which is how I like them. The 10 in WAFS were very tight and short.

Anonymous said...

as far as the speeds go 2way vs 4way i'd say they are the same if you don't wear them tight. what i mean by that is you know the girl running w/ the pink top in the wagon/inkwell stripes? see how the fabric doesn't come near her legs nice and loose? then the other models wear them pretty tight or close to body well thats not as comfortable at all and you will notice a diff from 2-way to 4-way since bending stretching etc rubbing btwn thighs et al. if you size up in 2-wy you won't have any discomfort issues. and there is a string in the waist if yours is little compared to the rump/legs.

@ 11:47 AM, thanks for the article link. Interesting and informative, indeed. Also, the links in the article to the photos of the sale racks is very telling for some stores Re: struggling with slow sales.

Hey!

I ordered the pink crops from YS, and it said I'd get $5 in SMOGI bucks... I haven't yet, but do I only get them when the order ships?

Also, I didn't agree with them charging me first when I may have to wait up to 3 months for the crops.. I've never had a company pre-charge me for a back ordered item!

Anonymous said...

Were the pink pace crops and beach runners uploaded on Monday night or did they sneak them in during the week? I don't remember seeingthem on Monday night with the rest of the upload...

Anonymous said...

@ 8:24, they do this because they book it as a firm order and special order, and are going to turn the product out more quickly than a regular production run. You can read other threads/prior comments. Also see above, LLA's comment at 11:12 PM.

Anonymous said...

I got my new yogasmoga slimmie pants and I really love love love them. very flattering on the rear side and I loved the fact that they were reversible to I can enjoy the carbon black on one side and black/tickled pink on the other! Dont want to take them off.

@8.24 - I got my $15 Smogi bucks in my account right after my 3 pants shipped. I asked them when I would get it and they said that you get the points after the order is shipped. They said that upto 1/3 of orders get amended for size/color so they wait till everything is done and then credit the SMOGI bucks at shipping otherwise it mucks up the point system and it can give incorrect points. I can't believe you are complaining about getting bucks back -- ummm how many bucks has lulu given back to you!

I placed a pre-order for the black crops today. The site CLEARLY says that the credit card will be charged upfront as its a firm order --- "Pre-Orders are given utmost priority and are considered firm orders. Payments for Pre-Orders will be charged to your Credit Card at Checkout." I quite like the feature as I know I can pre-book my order and feel secure that I will get the product I want. If you don't want to pay up and book ahead then just wait for the regular production and fight over it later--- what i find annoying is that people want to pre-order but then they whine about paying for a custom service ---- newsflash--- this is a optional service---I will tell you that their products are fantastic and they will be sold out all the time. Its smart of them to put in this program.

btw just to report on the tame me tank in the parfait pink: its really pretty- i'd say its a nice light peachy pink- great on my medium/tan olive skin, i love it- someone mentioned they love a nice light pink- me too- and i was hesitant seeing it on the young lady on here didn't look too appealing. anyhow depending on your skintone if your super white it might not look to good- one of those colors you have to try outdoors to see in true light if it works for you or not- but it is nice not at all a muddy ugly pink. its really pretty :)
