New Swim Line Revealed

The lululemon website blog posted the new swim line. So far it doesn't look too different from last year's.  I read that the swim line is coming out next week.  The names of the pieces are: 1) Coastal Om Triangle top, 2) Sandy Savansana, 3) Board Balance top, 4) Coast OM bikini bottom, 5) Sandy Savasana.

Yuck. Great colors but hideous color blocking on the boobs.

No! Are you serious?! *facepalm* Seriously, it's almost identical to last year's bomb of a collection, minus the color palette.

Totally dig 1, 2 and 4 maybe in different colors and providing they didn't forget the ability to add cups this time.

I hope they make some solids in these. #2 isn't bad, the color blocking is placed sensibly. But #3 is just awful. The color blocking just looks randomly placed. Hopefully that print that was previewed a while back will be coming as well.

@ 3 crazykids - the blog said the tops were going to come with cups

In what world is this technical swimwear??? These are for beachwear not training...

Looks like a bathing suit a watermelon would wear

No way I could get Away with wearing these, look like absolutely no boob support. Also they don't appeal to my fashion taste buds. Ah well you can't do it all LLL!

I wish they had a one piece!!

The orange color blocking makes it look like an illusion that one is wearing a teeny weeny bikini. The orange seems to pop out.

Oh my god, these are Hideous (with a capital H). I really wanted to get a Lululemon swimsuit, but no way could I wear this in public and not be embarrassed by the color blocking in unfortunate locations.

I play a ton of beach volley here in santa barbara...the cuts look perfect, the colorblocking not so much...

Yeah ! Were are the technical swimsuits ?? Like a one-piece for actually doing some swimming/training ?? Looks just as bad as last year !

I think they're cute- look nicer than last year. Probably overpriced for what they are though. I'm glad they have space for cups- interested to see more pics. I am a little surprised that the cuts look so similar to last year's as the previous line was a complete flop.

3 is hideous. Agreed, perhaps in solids the rest would be OK. In general nothing special. Probably not worth the dough just because it's LLL. I'm better off at a store that specialises in bathing suits and has LOTS to choose from.

So, is it too much to ask for a cute tankini?

@ Jen - I know. Athleta has a lot of cute suits. I also got a Title 9 catalog the other day and their suits looked really cute and very sporty. I remember when I my kids were very little I looked for suits a toddler couldn't easily pull down as they clung to me in the pool.

I would be super tempted by a few of these pieces except for the NO exchange/return policy...I think last year the bikini tops were not even returnable. I live in the Philadelphia area and none of the 5 stores in my area got the swim line last year. Lulu should list the measurements and size worn of the swim models...would help with determining what size to order.

Hands down, they make the best sports bras . . . why not make your swim tops similar, especially for performance? I would wear a top similar to the free to be or energy in a second. I can get a unsupportive, run of the mill bikini top anywhere and for a third of the cost.

Agree- just got the Athleta and Title 9 catalogs and will definitely be buying one of theirs over LLL.
Also, OT but I made a point to go in to Aritzia and Check out GapFit on my business trip to NYC last week. ;-) I found the Aritzia designs kind of weird and just not to my liking. I really loved some of the GapFit color palettes and the designs seemed to be direct knockoff of LLL, but the quality seemed far worse even than LLL's current diminished quality. Prices were great, of course.
Luluaddict, thank you for all your work on the blog! I love reading it.

The return policy will be different than last year. All tops are returnable within the return policy. Bottoms bought in store are not returnable. Bottoms bought online are returnable with the protective liner still in them and according to the return policy.

Put the pitchforks away and stop complaining about things you don't know!

@Anon 4:06 IIRC the center city store got the bathing suits (Walnut St)... At least I think it did. I know I tried them on right when they came out and am fairly certain it was the Walnut St store.

Anon @ 3:27PM... looks like someone works for Lululemon...

Anon 3:27 here. My sister works for Lululemon and I asked her after seeing the complaints here. I just think we should hold judgment until things actually come out. Everyone here has nothing but negative things to say and then you all buy things anyway. Why not wait until everything is actually released?

@Anon 7:34 there seem to be some Lulu employees stalking the internet trying to stand up for the brand with a really rude and off-putting tone. I work in finance and read a few articles about people thinking the stock is overvalued and set for a decline in the near future... the responses in the comments were hillarious. Full of people that sounded like employees saying you pay for quality (bleeding colors? see through fruit salad colored outfits?) and that they love the brand.

I hate to break it to them but their personal opinion has little to do with the actual future performance of the stock.

Out of line to scold.
The folks on this blog are, or used to be, loyal Lulu fans. This is the reason they complain here and continue to return in the hopes Lulu will listen and improve.
Shame on you for scolding. Lulu has been so poor on customer service, refuses to acknowledge that it has quality issues for an extended period of time, and you have the gaul to come on here with your ridiculous comment?
Wake up and be respectful! These folks pay your salary!
Listen to them, and learn from your mistakes! Do not continue to show indifferent arrogance!
Shame on you!

Anon 3:27 here. I am a long time Lululemon fan just like everyone else here. My sister started working as a seasonal employee over this last Christmas. I have every right to comment here.

All I was doing was giving correct information and asking that people hold judgement until they actuall try things on. There were people commenting that they like the items but wouldn't buy them because of the rerun policy. I was just helping them see that they didn't have to worry about that this year. I am personally excited about the swim line this year and glad lulu decided to get real with the return policy on it. Relax, folks! It isn't up to you to decide who is worthy to post here.

It's when the going get's though that we see the true colours.... Lulu always tries to protect itself when things go wrong instead of taking responsibility ! I understand their goal is to make money, but if they cared a little more about their loyal customers, they would not have gone this horrible path (cheap inks, modifying patterns, cheap material, etc.) !

I actually like this swim version better than last years. I think if you surf paddle board or play volleyball on the beach, these will workout. What I worry about, and yes I will wait to see in person, is that they will be thin and see through when wet.
