Surf Studio Jacket, Heat It Up Crops, Surya Tank, and More

Is this look in or really loud? I think I'd like one color blocked piece but not all. Studio Surf Jacket, Heat It Up Crops, and Surya Tank in Frond/Faded Zap/Black.

Frond/Faded Zap/Black Surf Studio Jacket with Pace Tights and the new Speed Demon Run Hat. BTW, why do I want to pay $32 for a run hat with no zip pocket on top? I might as well buy a Headsweats or Nike one.

The other colors of the Surf Studio jacket in Black, Dune/Bleached Coral/Black, and Inkwell/Black. Shown in the top two photos with Heat It Up crops and the Surya Tank.

The very cute Bleached Coral/Black/Dune Scuba. Love this.

The Pop Orange/Bleached Coral Surya Tank. Shown with Inkwell Diamon Wunder Under Pants and Heat It Up Shorts.

The Black, Inkwell Gingham, and Burning Yellow/Mellow Lemon Surya Tank. Shown with Heat It Up Crops and Invert Crops.

Two cute outfits with the new Heat It Up Crops. Shown with the matching Heat It Up bra in the top photo and a Practice Freely tank in the second photo.

Heat It Up Crops show with the Heat It Up bra, Digni Tee, and Rejuvenate Hoodie in these photos.

Heat It Up Bra and Shorts hot yoga outfit.

The new Burn It Out tanks. I would like this a lot better if the front was a similar length to the back.

 Puri Tee and Digni Tees.
Pretty Bleached Coral/Pop Orange First Base Tank.

i really love the look of the surf studio jackets (i love ALL the colors really, though i think the black/frond/faded zap is my fave), but the price kills me.

i am debating now if i want to return my dune scuba for this new bleached coral/dune/black one -- i don't know, i kind of don't like the look of the cuffs on this one. it almost looks like another shirt sticking out, since only the cuffs and the bottom are that grey color. it is very pretty, though. if the cuffs were black, i'd snap it up in a heartbeat.

i was excited about the heat it up shorts (for pole -- right now i'm rocking boogie shorts and i was able to find a returned pair of flip your dogs in my store, but i think i'm going to need a couple more that are closer to flip your dog length; boogies have too much leg, possibly), but sort of bummed about the drawstring. i'm sure that's fine for yoga, but they won't work for my purposes i don't think.

the surya tank looks very pretty. i like the strap details on the back. i wonder if the strap right across the back of the neck will bother people though?

On the Surya Tank, what's with the strap that goes around the neck at the top?

I am officially over the colorblocking.

I'm so OVER the colour blocking. BRING BACK THE COLOURFUL SOLIDS!!! Cute patterns!!! Stripes even!!! Seriously. I think it looks so dated, and will go out of style really fast. Good for LL business model I guess...

Totally agree that neck strap is bound to bug you. Too bad, it's super cute. :-(

That new bag is coming in at a whopping $158 and it is not even that big! Nuts!

I've been holding out on getting a scuba hoodie until I lost some weight, and now I've been stuck waiting for a color I actually like and is practical. I'm really liking this black/ bleached color/dune scuba. Thinking this might be my first scuba purchase. What so you ladies think? This or all black? I need some advice :)

The Surya Tank back straps look annoying, especially that strap that goes across the neck. That would not be comfortable at all. I wouldn't even consider buying that tank.

btw, girl in the first photos in the front/zap/black. Overkill and looks really bad!

What bras work under the run first base tank?

@ jennifer - the Bleached Coral/Dune/Black is a very classic lulu color pattern and that is one reason I like it so much. The problem with a lot of black french terry stuff is that it tends to fade with time and the seams go whitish. I don't have any solid black. I would definitely get the Bleached Coral/Dune/Black one if I had a choice. If you do go with black, wash it in cold and dry on fluff only. The heat will fade it.

@ anon 5:04 pm - I think anything with pretty straps in the back - free to be, that new Heat It Up bra, the Energy bra.

I'd wear the Heat It Up Bra and Shorts as a swimsuit. It's basically a bikini. Do people do yoga in bikinis? I don't do yoga so I don't know, but hey, lulu, that's a swimsuit, not an 'outfit'.

@ Jennifer

While the colour combo in the Scuba is fun, I think it will date itself quickly and be out of style. So if you want to spend $110 for a hoodie for this season and wear it lots, then go for the colour combo.

Also, the colour combo is more limiting to wear with other colours. A solid neutral will take you further for longer.

Finally, LLL has lined the hood in the Scuba Stretch which is an improvement to the original Scuba Stretch. However, I think this style is still lacking in quality and fit against the Scuba. A decisive feature of the Scuba that has not been adopted in the revised Scuba Stretch is the stretchy side panels. It is these panels that gave the Scuba such a flattering fit on all body types. It showed and emphasized women's curves - something I have not seen in any other style of hoodie.

My recommendation is to visit some LLL stores and see if you can find a Scuba. I got lucky the other week and found a Scuba in Ray, which brings my collection to seven Scubas. I saw other Scubas in different sizes and colours as well. Just look for the side panels Or you could look for a used one - but not at an inflated price.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that LLL will bring back all of the features of the Scuba.

Shame on LLL for these ridiculously inflated prices. Do they think by pricing their product high it makes them a premium brand? They have lost sight that quality along with function and style makes a brand premium. The quality has been missing from many of their products. The reduction in quality of the Scuba to Scuba Stretch, while charging the same price, is an example of LLL decline.

@Jennifer,...

Go with your gut. If you like the patterned scuba, go for it. The black will probably be around for awhile as a staple color and replenished but the patterns and seasonal colors will not.

Does this scuba have side stretch panels? And is it still super short?

It seems to have arm stretch panels and a lined hood at least...but I can't tell if there are side stretch panels like the previous scubas....

@ anon me 6:23 PM, LLL has made these outfits specifically aimed at hot yoga and Bikram yoga. "Normal" non-heated yoga is not done in a bikini/skimpy outfit. For Bikram yoga (go ahead and Google, you'll find endless info.) it is recommended to wear shorts, tank, and yes, even wearing a bathing suit is recommended. 90 minutes long, 26 postures & 2 breathing exercises done twice. It's done in 105F temp with 40% humidity, it's very hot. In Bikram, lots of people wear the skimpy outfits but people also wear crops and CRB's, tanks etc. Guys wear shorts. It's all about what you're comfortable in. In other hot yoga (a vinyasa flow, for example) people generally do not wear as skimpy an outfit. I go to both.

@ B

There are no side stretch panels in the Scuba Stretch or SS Linded Hood versions.

As for length, I've read the lined hood version is slightly longer, but I have not checked this out myself.

The bikram studios where I go people tend to wear shorts and bra only, haven't seen a bikini, but I have seen lots of people wearing those little shorts and skimpy bras. I wear the shorts, but I layer my skimpy top with the 105F tank or the swiftly tank. If I had a smaller bust I would wear the outfit as it's shown above.

Thanks for the advice ladies! I'm going to try on in store since I've never even tried one on before and see how it fits. I like the idea of lined hood. Also browsed eBay and there seemed to be a lot of every expensive (even more than retail price) used items. Is this normal for lulu items?

Some eBay sellers seem to mark up popular (and even not so popular items) well above the retail price. I won't buy if it's marked up too much... too greedy I say
