I am sure these will be completely see through, like the last FIVE pair of pants I've ordered and returned. Tried on the yellow pace crops, more see through than the coral studio crops which is saying a lot. Wondering if they even look at their product before they ship them out to stores. Completely unwearable. Would love some of these bright colored bottoms but can't go to the gym in see through pants.
I'd like to hear from those who bought recent Ta Ta Tamers...
I just received my bleached coral/pop orange TaTa Tamer. Like the color, but a little disappointed with the product.
The band is about a 1/2 longer than my old ones (I have black, bruised berry, and lilac), the mesh part above the cups is wider and has sharper angle which looks VERY V-cut and peeks more from my CRBs, and they changed the removable cups!!!! Now they are softer, cheaper looking. I love how my old ones give me non-flatten, perkier look along with great support. I need all these after breastfeeding two kids! lol!
I'm on the fence about this product. Is this change only for bleached coral ones, did I get a bad batch (if there's such a thing) or all the recent ones are like this? Thank you in advance!
@ anon 6:50 am - Interesting about the Ta Ta Tamers. I'll have to check them when I hit the stores this week. The last one I bought was in the post-Xmas sales and it was the Polar Cream Silver Slate Striped one. I didn't notice anything different then.
so i know that everyone has had a hate-on for the pace crops, but i gotta say that i really like them! i was never a fan of the RFYL, so i'm welcoming the replacement. i don't get "jesus fish" from looking at the butt. then again, i live in nyc and we're not plagued with the symbol all the time, so i don't think it's the first thing people think here. i just see a fun looking stripe when i see the butt. and yes, it DOES draw attention to the rear end, but (at least on me) i don't think in a negative, unflattering way. i'm pretty average sized - i take a 6 - and i've always thought of myself as having "big hips" (maybe i'm wrong), and i don't think the crops make my hips look wider at all, and i think they slim my thighs. i think whether or not you find them flattering is a combination of things, including how bubbly/perky your butt is. if you have a flat butt, i think the narrowness of the oval tends to widen and flatten even more and that's where the unflattering image comes from. however, even if you have wide hips, if your butt is fuller, then i think you avoid this issue, and the crops are really nice looking. in any case, i bought two pairs (and i'm excited about the shorter swiftlies because they don't cover the butt detail!)
as for the sheerness factor, they are slightly sheer, though not sheerer than any other luxtreme or luxtreme-like crops i have/have tried. i ALWAYS find run crops sheer - i've tried all the ones at athleta, gap, lulu, nike, etc. maybe i just have that kind of body, i don't know (i have a pair of lulu cross train crops from about 5 years ago that are also sheer when bending over). the black pace crops are not sheer when standing, but are a it sheer when in a full squat (and yes, i'm using the crops for crossfit). like i said, they seem pretty par for the course to me for this material. sheerness aside, the ONLY gripe i have with these is the pocket situation. these are supposed to be running crops, but they have no side legs pockets, and just a TINY back pocket - nothing that can fit my iphone. either have a pocket somewhere that can fit my iphone, or else get rid of the pocket altogether. i'd be happy to NOT have that lumpy zipper at my lower back since it's totally non-functional.
These will definitely be see through. I bought and returned the inkwell diamond version of these, and they were quite sheer. You guys are crazy-sauce if you think there's a chance these will be ok! ;)
OT - i just got an email from Patagonia with their new spring line! some really cute looking stuff, including groove crop-like and groove short-like items (the pliant knickers and pliant shorts). can't say i've tried either, but i thought i'd pass along the info. i love patagonia - they're a company with exceptional customer service and an ironclad lifetime guarantee on their products. plus, they try to be as eco-friendly as possible and transparent in their manufacturing practices. i know there are some other patagonia lovers out there, too, so i thought i would just share. and no, i don't work for patagonia/receive any compensation from them, etc. i just love their quality and thought these two items might be of interest since they are very lulu-esque.
@ Luluaddict: I have the diamond dot inkwell WU pants, and they are different from the diamond perforated frond WUs (which I tried). The diamond dot is not perforated, but solid if that makes sense. They're not sheer-I find them to be a bit thicker than regular luon, IMO.
I also have the Ta Ta Tamer in Bruised Berry and Lilac and just bought the Bleached Coral/Orange Pop one. I had also noticed and was disappointed with the new cheaper cups. Comparing my older ones to the new one, the band seems to be the same size on all of mine and the mesh in the front is a little bit bigger but doesn't seem to be as extreme as the way you describe yours.
@anon 7:38 am - I've run in Wunder Unders for training runs in cooler weather. I've also run in Ebb and Flow crops. I like lulu's running crops because they have a lot of pockets. I like to put my iphone in the back zip pocket.
I hope that they have not changed the tata tamer, it is such a great bra, and I was thinking of getting the bleached coral one. I really never use the cups on the bra, but I think that would be awful if they changed this bra.
I just bought and returned the new diamond dot WU's in inkwell because I noticed they already had a snag when I tried them on. I was bummed because the print itself and color is adorable. I didn't mind the thickness and didn't notice too much sheerness but I definitely did with the frond color and had to return those too. Has anyone else noticed a fit change in the new WU's? I have ordered 5 pairs in the last few weeks and all gave me massive MT, or CT if I pulled them to my normal waist were my other WU's hit. I tried on my other pairs thinking maybe I had put on some weight or something but they fit the same and the new ones seem to have a lower rise and less supportive waistband or something. So unflattering! And it seems worse in the back, they are falling down by my butt crack. Completely nonfunctional for barre or yoga. I returned the gingham crops too for the same reason despite my total love for the prints. Such a bummer not to be able to keep the pants due to fit or sheerness. Or omnipresent CT issues.
I ran in Wunder Unders once but I worried about them piling or the friction on the seams, so that was the only time. Yeah pretty sad I have to worry about working out in my workout clothes!! Luxtreme holds up fine, though.
I agree that Patagonia carries some great items and they seem to be a very responsible company. I have a lot of their pieces (especially outerwear). I love their dresses and pretty much live in them in the summer. They have some nice yoga pieces, but they my issue with the brand is fit. I'm petite so I'm xs in everything Patagonia, but then sometimes the bust is too small (I'm a nursing 32D). I haven't been able to find another brand that fits as well and looks as good on as LLL.
@anon 7:39 - i've run in WU, but find they tend to fall down, and get really hot. plus, i'm also a pocket girl, and they don't have enough pockets for me for running. however, i know a few people DO run in them, so it's possible.
8:16 good if you like them but you're going on too much to try to justify/sell them. I live in a major city and am not inundated with the JFish either, but that's all I think when I see them. I'm slim, good shape and could sport these stripes/loops on my butt but no thanks, don't find it appealing in the least and it'll date itself very quickly.
I am excited about the potential of Patagonia's yoga line, too, @ Sophia! I've ordered a bunch of items to try - was so happy they finally put cups in their shelf bras (sorry - this is a thing for me) and have high hopes, given the quality of their other products. I love the company and what they stand for, and before lulu went public I had hopes that they would be a similar company with similar morals and standards. But...not so much. Anyway, I will update after I've tried it - though I'm small(ish), I'm definitely someone who needs all the coverage and compression I can get, so I've got very high standards for my fabrics!
Unlike a reviewer above, my yellow Pace crops were incredibly see-through. I went to return them in store today and tried them on for an educator and they were shocked at just how see-through they were without bending over. They were the correct size, a tad big even and ridiculously sheer.
@anon 10:52 am - I made it a point to try on a mellow lemon gingham Ta Ta Tamer on today. The fit seemed the same as it has been since they made the straps a little stretchier and the band a little looser. The cups were not as stiff as previous but still thick enough to hide headlights. I rarely wear the inserts anyway since it's such a hassle to get them situated in the pockets straight and without wrinkles. I usually have the straps cinched snug so I don't jiggle so I don't need them. Plus, I feel they make me hotter when I run and they just soak up sweat so my boobs feel wet for a long while later when I move on to lifting weights or running errands after the gym.
@1:06 - i'm not trying to justify or sell the pace crops to anyone. I didn't realize how long the post was until after it showed up...sometimes i can be a bit lengthy (: i think i've just read SO MANY comments about how much everyone hates the pace crops that I just had to get it all out there, you know? if you don't like them, that's fine, more for me! but i really do like them and i'm sorry if you found my post too long (just don't read it :P)
patagonia does run large except for their bathing suit tops. If you happen to be above a D cup it's hard to find a patagonia bathing suit top that works. Other than that I love their stuff

LOVE the crops! They will be mine!
99% sure those will be sheer? But I'd love to be proven wrong coz I love the color.

Are tose under under crops? They look too flared out at the leg opening. Looks like groove crop, maybe.
Those are really beautiful but I'm guessing they are going to be see through. I'm not even going to try.
What does "diamond" mean?

What a fun color! Wish I could get excited, but those are gonna be SOOOOO SHEER!!!!
Youde really be able to see cellulite in that bright color yikes!!

@ anon 6:28 am - It's the same perforated-looking diamond pattern as in the Frond and Inkwell WUs.
Hmm pretty color but I've been hearing that the diamond pattern tends to snag more easily? Is this true?
Do people run in WU crops? none of LLL's recent running crops interests me.

I love running in my e&f!! My go to crops for running half marathon and longer races.
There's also a hot yoga type short. Patagonia is great quality and does great environmental work. Keep in mind that the tend to run large!
