Sherpa Fleece liner |
Photos of the new Special Edition Uba Hoodie in Love Red, Polar Cream, Inkwell blue, and Black. I'm reading lots of good things about this jacket. It's made of softshell fabric that is soft and stretchy. It has stretchy arm panels to accommodate layering or your biceps. The luxchange liner is black sherpa fleece. The price is $148 but a friend tells me the original price was $178 and the tags have the little white stickers - interesting! She made a special trip to get this jacket and says it's long enough for her (she's 5'11") and felt it was wasn't super warm but heavy windbreaker that would be suitable for light rain.

Why is this jacket not online????
It will probably be uploaded next week.
Anyone word on how this fits? Would one go with their regular Scuba size?
Any word on how this is fitting? Would one stick with their regular Scuba size?
What is up with the hissing cobra poses?
Yea, I could see dropping $150 on that.
I normally like a lot of the SE items. But this, no. Don't care for the brightness of the zipper. Just bring back the Scuba and get rid of the Scuba Stretch.
Everything else, ick. Those light flare skinny pants in particular. *unpleasant shivers*
I love the look of this jacket, but really dislike the oversized logo on the hood.
I totally want this jacket, now what color??? Decisions, decisions.
Hi there, just a "heads up" about this jacket...I bought the black shiny one that was released a few months ago. It's a very cute design, and is cozy and flattering. However, the fleece liner is very poorly designed - you can get a hint of the problem in the picture you've posted of the flare colour where she is holding the jacket open. There is a little gap in the neck/upper chest area. Even more annoyingly, you have to manually tuck the liner over your shoulders and make sure it lies flat every time you put the jacket on because the liner is barely secured to the outer shell (just a single fabric loop at the back of the neck). Just something to be aware of! :)
I bought this today. I'm a 6 in most everything but I usually size up to an 8 in jackets. I definitely was a true 6 in the Uba Hoodie SE. 8 was way too big.
YES this is exactly why I didn't buy the Bundle Up on boxing day markdown even though it was a good deal. Too fussy and poorly designed.
Is it the same length as the scuba stretch? -Jenn
This looks cute - I especially like the inkwell. But UGH on the zipper. It would be so much nicer if the zipper were the color of the fabric. But I'm beating a dead horse with that comment.
Bright zipper definitely cheapens the look.
This is the same length as the scuba stretch. Awful
From the photos it looks more like the regular Scuba length but I can't be sure until I see it in person or find a comparison photo. The difference between the two jackets is about 1.5" in length.
Hey there LuluAddict!! Great job on your blog. First time commenter here. You had a photo a couple pictures back of a woman doing rope climbs. I was wondering what crossfitters wear for bottoms for rope climbs? I am not a shorts gal and I've worn my luxtreme tights but it ruins the seams on the inner thighs. I am a curvy size 8. I kickbox and Crossfit. Any one have any suggestions?
I tried this on and didn't like the way it laid on me. The material didn't have a lot of give. Love my nylony uba so much more.
I bought this jacket. The length is the same as the regular scuba, not short like the scuba stretch. I bought my regular scuba size, but it is not as fitted (which is to be expected given that it's a jacket, and it's soft shell which has less give). It's also not as fitted as the regular Uba. I think I will get lots of spring wear out of it, but it's definitely a jacket and not a hoodie.
Actually, the Run Bundle Up Jacket is a superior jacket in design, appearance and warmth. The one minor miss is the magnetic loop to secure the hood to the back, and yes, you have to tuck under the bottom of the hood to lay it flat at your shoulders. It really does not bother me to do this. It takes all of 2 seconds. Plus it can be worn without the hood, which I have done. The jacket has been awesome for true winter running (up to -15C). And it looks great.
Well I'm not impressed. The pockets are useless. Shallow and no zipper. No venting. Too short. Ugh. Don't let the price lure you in!
Also, with the liner out wouldn't the inside zipper just snag on whatever shirt you are wearing?
Does it ride up as badly as the Scuba Stretch does?
WHEN are they going to go back to the old Scubas?? It's cold in Canada right now and I'm lusting for a new cozy Scuba :-(
I wear Luon tights/pants. Ropes are harsh on your pants, it's pretty unavoidable. I'd pick one pair to "ruin" and just make sure to wear them for the WOD (if you wear shorts, that'll be your skin.....ouch..)
I don't like big logos of any kind on my clothing. I think it's like showing off that you paid lots of money for a garment, that is one of the reasons I don't like lulu hoodies.

Thanks Sophia!! I have a pair in mind for it:)

For rope climb WODs I tend to wear sturdier crops with high socks to protect my ankles. I prefer WOD gear crops (better than luon- not sheer, no pilling, have lasted me way longer than new Lulu luon pants)
I agree with the positive comments about the bundle up! I have two regular and 2 reflective making 4 in total and I haven't even noticed that I have to adjust it... Maybe I don't? To me it's the most flattering down jacket I've ever seen. 5/5 IMO
This jacket runs big. Definitely size down from both Scubas. Oddly though, it doesn't run longer, it's just wider overall. Lately I feel like all of Lulu's new designs are more forgiving. Perhaps joining the vanity sizing bandwagon.
Anyway I would have bought it even at $178 had it NOT been for the huge logo (I actually even considered having a tailor remove the entire hood for me to get rid of the logo which cannot be removed on its own)
Ooh!! I will give them a go. I do like a drawstring as my "mommy tummy" tends to make my pants slip down. Plus I have a small waist, big legs and booty. Thanks for the tip on wod wear.
I have this jacket and I think the reason for this may be that if it zipped at the neck area as well the zipper would rub against your skin when the fleece is removed.
