Creamsicle Pop Tops, My Mantra Pant, Cross Town Pant, and More

Creamsicle Pop tops from Australia. From left to right - Power Y, Cool Racerback (I think, though it could be a Swiftly), and Swiftly. Based on how this color looks on these women, I don't think I'm going to like it on me.

On the other hand, I think I am going to like Tender Violet just fine.

I really like the Bordeaux Star Runner tops with the matching Deep Coal/ Bordeaux Inspires.

NEW! Full Stride Skirt

Australian Heads Up  - A new skirt called the Full Stride Skirt is out. Can't say I really like it from this photo. It's shown in the eighth Tender Violet Check.

Change in the Speed Short Liner?

I'm reading commentary that the new Eighth Check Tender Violet Speed Shorts have a rough and scratchy feeling liner compared to previous speed shorts. Note there is no Coolmax in the content. That is one of the features touted when you look at Speed Shorts on the website. As a contrast, the Lining1 content for Flare speed shorts is 56% polyester, 33% coolmax polyester, and 11% lycra spandex.

key features

  • made with Swift fabric for four-way stretch and moisture wicking capabilities
  • cut to perform: vents at back for breathability and split legs for freedom of movement
  • smooth Luxtreme waistband wicks away sweat and won't cut in
  • COOLMAX® liner is soft and breathable
  • continuous drawcord so you can always cinch when you need to
  • secure zipper pocket on back waistband for keys, gel packs and cards
  • chafe resistant flat seams to help prevent sweaty, sensitive skin from getting irritated
I hope the lining hasn't been messed with the same way the men's Run Response Shorts have been. The updated version of the Run: Response shorts have been heavily criticized for changing the lining for the worse. It now rides up and gets holes in it very easily.

Lining of the rough Violet speeds in on top. Normal, soft lining of Flare speeds is at the bottom of the photo.

Update - a reader comments that her Speed shorts have various liner fabric content, some with cool-max and some without. Some are smoother than others. So, this may not be a change.

Lululemon needs to stop tweaking well-proven designs that work - Triangle gussets that are so far back they cover your bumhole instead of your lady bits, the fit and fabric of the Power Y, Inspire waistband tight, the fit of the Flow Y, the waistband and liner of the Run: Response Shorts. They are messing with more and more core items that don't need fixing. (Thanks to Ms. A and Ms. S for the photos.)

The shorts in the top row (the right three are SE Sea Wheeze shorts) do not have Cool Max in the lining. The bottom two rows do. (Thanks to Ms. Q. for the photo of her awesome shorts collection.) I'll have to remember to check the linings of the latest shorts when I go to the store to see if this becomes a trend.
