The Polar Cream/Black Ice Queen Pants. Lots of people are loving the fit of the Ice Queens.

Mens Chillstop Pant. It looks like it fits close in the leg.

I really love the black and gray stripes in this - the Studio Half Zip made of running luon.

Running Luon Sprint Half Zip. Where is the women's equivalent that has a pattern in the rulu like this? I think the men got the more interesting running luon tops so far this winter.

I really like the look of the black piqué WUC. Any reviews of the fit and feel of these? Thanks!!

that mens long sleeve is horrible, its so itchy and the seams across the bottom chafe against your skin.. I couldn't stand wearing it for more then 5 minutes.

I finally just pulled the tags off my limitless blue IQ pants, and I do love the fit of them. They are a tiny bit tight a the very top of the waistband, but other than that, I love them. I'm going to test them out on Monday for snowboarding which is what I bought them for. I'll provide an update on what I thought of them after use.

Went to the store today for a try-on:

1. WUC herringbone white/black - soft, sheer if you size down. I normally wear 2 in most WU except for denim WU (4). I went with a 4 in these and they were perfect. Pass the bend test.

2. WUC coca pique black - very interesting pattern on. I loved it. FIts a little more tight than other WUC. I also sized up like WU denims.

3. Don't hurry be happy pullover - love the feel of it but not very flattering.. I passed on it.

4. ST. Moritz turtleneck - I tried this on when it came out and I really liked it but not for $128. Surprisingly, it was remarked to $88 (maybe it was written here and I missed it). So I snatched the black one up. Fits TTS if you like it snug (like your swiftly LS). The neck was a tad snug but I don't like it when my turtle neck doesn't stay up on my neck.

5. Didn't see any pink today.

I also noted that the store was PACKED!!! There was a line to the fitting rooms and the check out counter. It was actually chaotic there. So many people moving around the store. The folding counter right by the fitting rooms were piled high with clothes to be re-shelved. Interesting.

Kind of unfair for her to model all these. She's too gorgeous to make these sub-par Lulu stuff look bad :) But we know better.

btw, the pink shell crb I tried was so scratchy and even bangbuster in PS was too rough I'd be afraid it'd pull hair.

Yes, the Chillstop pant fits close in the legs. I bought it for my husband, for his walks with the dogs and hikes in winter time. It fits a bight tight on the waist but has a sharp look. Water repellant and wind blocking in the front of the legs, rulu in the back. No cinch cord but a zipper and a bottom. So it's important to get the right size. The waistband has the same fit as the Work-to-Play pant.

My coco piqué wup fit badly on me. The lines that run down from top to bottom stretched over my thighs so it looked like the lines were angling toward my crotch. Ugly and made me look fat. No matter how I adjusted the seams, it wouldn't help. I even went up from a 6 usual size to an 8. Still fat looking. The white bits were shedding and fuzzy and they had only been put on before getting taken off in a hurry so no idea why they were fuzzing all over the pant. Needless to say they are going back. Don't buy them.

The men's studio half zip looks completely ridiculous with the zipper offset to the left. What is the point of that??!?

Just tried to place an order for a gift and kept getting a message that my billing zip code is invalid. It's not! So frustrating. Likely going to get my sister a gift somewhere else. Not cool lulu!

I was wondering the same thing about the black pique WUC. I have the black herringbone WUC and they are great, so I was thinking of going with the white herringbone WUC but wanted to try something different. It seems that the pique fabric may be a size down since it seems stretchy. I did over hear an ED saying that her pique WUP were pilling/pulls. So a review on them would be great!

I like the comparisons too, but really, was anything going to look bad on that girl?!?

You can see the women's underwear in the Ice Queen black/polar photo. :(

Love the look and fit of the IQ pants, but can't stand the color blocking on every pair... total bummer of a deal breaker.

I visited my local store yesterday and all the GEs at the registers were wearing the Uba Lux/PVC/Hefty Bag hoodie. Sorry, but they look cheap and plasticy in person, definitely not something I'd consider even if it goes to the loot section.

Thanks for the reviews on the coco piqué black! It looks so pretty, I'm still torn!

@ anon 10:50pm - I bought the Chillstops for my husband too! Agree they are a try-on item for sizing. We found the opposite though - looser through the waist and then tight through the legs (he's actually wearing them more as tights rather than pants due to sizing and lack of adjustable waistband), so it must depend on body type. He really likes them. I think the back is tech fleece, not rulu?

@ anon 11:15pm - my husband actually really liked the off-set zip on the Studio! He doesn't like it when he layers and all the zippers like on top of each other and rub and catch on one another. so, while it may look odd, it does serve a practical purpose. :)

Anonymous said...

That's not her underwear, that's a seam on the pant. The IQ pants have a seam that runs from your thigh across your bum to your other thigh. ;)

@7:17 pm
Dont see undies, only seam detail on pant

The model could wear a BAG and still look gorgeous! :)

A lot of people have been commenting about boxing day sales on this board. I've noticed the WMTM uploads have not been really small or non existent lately. Also I noticed that the 2 large MD racks in my local store (Atlanta) disappeared this week.
I'm fairly new to Lulu and am not familiar with Canadian holiday boxing day so can someone please explain how boxing day works in US lululemon stores. I hope we get these sales too not just Canada.

Just in case anyone is interested: my store was just unpacking a vinyasa in mint and black color (striped). So, it sounds like that stuff from Australia is over here early.

Mini store report. Let me preface this comment by saying that I used to shop practically every other day at LLL, and in the last 10 months I barely go into a store once every two weeks and I haven't ordered anything online for months.

Love the Ice Queen pant and have to stop myself from buying a third pair. I own the LB and the LR. If the color blocking was like the LB, in the front with the black on the sides I would buy another pair, but the LR aren't nearly as flattering as the LB.

St M. sweater. I really think this is a nice sweater, the fit was fine. BUT, what is the quality of the actual sweater? How will it hold up for $150? Pass. The value just was not there.

Draft Dodger. I did not want to like this because of the name, but it's a very nice jacket. It covers yourbutt and the quality of the fabrics is as good as it's going to get (take that for what it's worth these days). Although the Polar/black was more dramatic I realized that I own very few all black jackets. Wish listed, in black. If I can't stop thinking about it over the weekend I'll go back and buy it.

Run Speedy Turtle. OMG Love this. I've been thinking about the white/polar since I first saw it a couple of weeks ago. I love white and off white together, especially in the winter time. I didn't even try it on, I just bought it thinking if it didn't work out I'd exchange it for the DD Jacket. The turtle neck is not tight at all, the two tone I love, and it's really soft and comfy. I plan on wearing it for training and for street clothes.

I passed on the laceoflage tights. I like that the back is black, but the length is funky on me at 5'4", right below mid calf...not a good look for me. (and big muscilar thighs I'm proud of!)

Nothing else really appealed to me. I'm not into all of the interchangeable "MacGyver" jackets, although I was surprised that the Draft Dodger was $198 and so was one of the down-filled selections.

One more thing....like sb mentioned, the store was packed and so was the inventory. So many mixed signs about the state of the product and company. The only thing I can take away is that there are SOME quality products when it comes to design and manufacturing. Educate yourself, don't judge without doing your research, and DON'T BUY if it does not meet your standards.

I'm sad that the original "power Y" is gone (the last one I bought was...good God, was it the Menthol?), that the original "scuba" is gone (kicking myself for not getting the Black Swan Ombre from last year) and let's not forget the Define...

Good Luck to you all and Happy Holidays!

@ anon 2:59 pm - In Canada, I think boxing day is a huge sale day. If you go to the blog archives and pull up the posts for various Dec 26th I have some photos of mobs of people waiting in line to shop at Canadian lululemon stores.

I've gone out the past few years on Boxing Day (dec 26th) and there have been sale racks but there were no spectacular sales, usually first markdown cuts. This year might be different since lulu has been sucking but I wouldn't hold my breath. I've read that the Shell Pink stuff will come back on the 26th. I think to make everyone spend their gift card money I think new stuff gets put on the website, too.

@ 2:59 PM - I'm Canadian. Yes, Boxing Day is December 26th and it's when everything is on sale everywhere, big box stores, regular retail etc. On Dec. 26th, sales start very early everywhere and people line up to get the best deals on the limited number of big ticket items like TV's and so forth. If you go to a major shopping mall, it will be packed and good luck even trying to move! It's also a given that we have Boxing Week where everything remains on sale all week, but people shop early/on the day, for the best deals.

I'm in Toronto and it is true that the markdown racks at LLL have been removed in the past couple of weeks (I go to a couple of stores regularly). Many shoppers are buying gifts, so they're going to pay full retail. Of course informed LLL shoppers expect the MD racks to return for Boxing Day. I was in the Eaton Centre LLL today and it was very busy with people buying gifts. Many Eds on duty to sell the goods. I didn't buy anything (I tried on a couple things though). Today MEC got my money for excellent winter running tights ($52) and a beautifully soft merino wool turtleneck ($65) that comes in black and a colour that is pretty much Limitless Blue. LLL can keep their St Moritz tneck. I'd buy another MEC one.

Fellow vancouverite here...LLL boxing day sales are usually small MD...the regular $39 for CRB , if we get lucky $29, $69-$79 on crops, $89-$99 defines, in strides etc. So don't get too excited for a huge boxing day sale. Happy Boxing day shopping then! :)
If you are willing to wait and take the chance on your size still being there then wait bc they do do further MD...that's how I got my cuddle up for $79 last year! I waited 3 weeks post boxing week sales

Last year they had a lot of extra stuff added to the WMTM section on Boxing Day.

I went to Lulu tonight to try on the Ice Queen pants. I have been wanting to try them on for awhile, but the white and black striped ones really lit a fire under me to get there.

I LOVE THEM!!!! They are so flattering and I really like that they are high-waisted as it contains the mini-muffin top that I have. I totally bought these and am very excited to wear them on my run tomorrow to try them out.

I also tried on the all black Lustrous crops and I liked those too. Another higher rise waist which again works well for me, so I bought these too!

I haven't bought anything from Lulu in awhile so I was happy to find some items that I loved.

pls advise:
power up tank fits tts or a size up item? I am a true size 4 for lulu tanks and CRB. However for scoop necks i need to size up to 6 for a comfy fit on the neck.
thanks.

I guess it's store try-on report day...and since there is a character limit, here is part one of my try-on report…my bf and I drove the 2 hours to our closest Lulu so he could exchange a size in the Men's Chillstop 1/2 zip (He's consistently been a large in the SSs and LSs but this season all the sleeves have been too short on the LSs, so he had to bump up to an XL) and I could exchange a couple of online purchases and try other things on.

Ice Queen Pants: I have these in the all black and looooove them. They fit a fitted TTS and look really flattering on. I also love the pocket placement on the side hip pockets, but not so much on the vertical leg pockets b/c I just can't imagine sticking anything in those to run comfortably and/or easily access while running, but the upper ones rock. I do wish they had a back zip, but alas, I guess a girl can't have everything. Anyway, I ended up trying on the black/white stripe and totally loved them. I am hoping with the stripes on the bottom they won't get or look too dirty from outside running, but we shall see. So, yes, they totally came home with me.

Run U-Turn Pullover: tried this in both the pique and the beaming blue silver and just didn't love either. Both fit kinda loose through the middle and seemed on the short side and I have what I think is an average torso length. Also on the pique one, I didn't like how I could feel the seams on the arms. I will say though that the pique is super soft.

Runder Under LS: I tried this in both the pique and the beaming blue silver as well. They both ran really big. I am a Lulu TTS 6 in tops (for reference 5'7" ~135 lbs 34D) and had to go down to a 4 (which fits just like all my other Lulu 6s). I actually totally fell in love with the beaming blue silver one so it came home with me this afternoon. I really wanted to love the beaming blue pique, but I couldn't. I just kept thinking PJs when I had it on, but it was soft. Bottom line, if you're thinking about this one, think about sizing down one size.

Draft Dodger: I was really really hoping I would hate this. But I didn't. I pretty much fell in love with the all black one and it too came home with me. This was also a size down item for me. The 6 was crazy baggy and did this weird gap thing under my bust from the vents or something which was horribly unflattering. I test layered the 4 over a variety of different tops (swiftly LS, swiftly SS, U-Turn pullover, Runder Under LS) and I could comfortably fake run in place in all of them. I love the girly lace over the reflective strips on the sleeves and the length. I also love the way it zips up to the side. Like another reviewer mentioned about her husband liking the layers of zippers to be in different locations, I can totally relate. Definitely a plus for when I layer it over a half zip, which I am sure I will.

And here is part 2 of the try-on report:
Power Up Tank: I ended up bringing this baby home with me too in the beaming blue. I felt this fit a snug TTS. The cut is super flattering, the neck is high enough for decent coverage and no spillage when doing downward dog, and it is low enough in the back it didn't give me any of the dreaded back fat (big plus in my book).

Free To Be Tank: For me this was an easy pass. I love the lace print, but coverage-wise it was a no. I am pretty sure it would have required lots of adjusting during yoga to try to prevent spillage, but for others I bet it is a real winner. Cute tank, great feel and look (without bending over for me). Fit TTS.

Elongate Tank: This too was a big no for me b/c of the chest coverage factor (I didn't even bother with the downward dog fit test on this one haha). And I personally didn't find the color blocking flattering on me. Seemed to fit TTS.

All Sport Bra: This was another easy pass for me. I felt it just flattened me in an unflattering uni-boob way. Also, I didn't think it felt as supportive as the Energy Bra nor the Cross My Heart. But I did think it fit TTS and the lace print was adorable.

I actually ordered the Bold in the Cold pants in all black when they were loaded online and already got to test them out on a run. They are a roomy TTS, fit a lot like the Run Free Pant from last winter. They seem longer than the Run Free Pant, and they have that seam going above the knee over the front of the thigh which I feared might rub and drive me nuts while wearing them, but it actually didn't. They are definitely warmer than the Ice Queen Pants and I didn't notice the cold or wind at all through the front. All in all a win. Also, as a side note, my Run Free Pants totally were a roomy TTS when I got them, but shrunk up just the right amount when I dried them so I am going to do that with these too and I bet then they will be absolutely perfect.

And now I am done, I swear :)

Thanks for all the fit reports! From everything I've read, people are really loving the Ice Queen pants. It has a very flattering fit.

Thanks for the review on the Power Up tank, too. I tried it but forgot to write about it. I agree with snug TTS. It seems like decent tank but doesn't have a ton of support for bustier women. I wonder why it wasn't offered in a size 12. It's not like this is a skimpy tank.

What temp do you think the dd jacket is good for? I really like the details

Anonymous said...

I too, am a Torontonian and have the MEC merino wool top and MEC tights. Definitely better pricing, though lulu has an edge when it comes to fit.

Anonymous said...

I second the BITC (hmmm just need an H in there...) review. They are super warm and comfy and have a lot of great features. I found they are a size larger than normal, but I also prefer some compression in running pants. I sized down for that reason but could see keeping them roomy for other activities - skiing, hiking, etc. the rise is just high enough. The major drawback for me was length - these are way long on me (I'm 5'6") - so I am having them hemmed (will lose the ankle drawstring though)

Finally made it into a store and picked up the beaming blue pique U-turn. Been lusting after that puppy for a few weeks. Still debating on returning or keeping the yellow one. Amen for the longer return policy for the time being.

Looking forward to the Boxing Day WMTM online. My only wish is that we also got the day off ... grrr.
