Spotted In Stores - Tender Violet Define and New Swiftly

From left to right: Bruised Berry, Tender Violet, Power Purple

A new brushed Define in Tender Violet was spotted in US Stores this weekend.  I like it but I am not a fan of the brushed Defines because I like to be able to wear my Defines year round. Since I have a Potion Purple Define I'm pretty sure I can live without a Tender Violet one. (Thanks to Ms. T. for the photos.)

Comparison of Tender Violet (the CRB) and Potion Purple (the Stride Jacket). (Thanks to Ms. C. for the photo.)

The Tender Violet/Gray Swiftly LS has also hit US Stores. (Thanks to Ms. Q. for the photo.)

New run jacket revealed on the lululemon Facebook page.

What is the difference between a regular Define and a brushed one? Thanks :)

I love baseball tee styles of shirts!! I really wish I had waited on my Power Purple LS swiftly now!! I want that two tone one so bad now!! And I don't really have a need for two swiftlys.

The luon feels a little thicker and warmer than normal luon.

Love love love!!!! My prayers have been answered ;-) wanted a TV solid Define and that is brushed, it's the icing on the cake! Here where I live, brushed Defines can be worn basically all year round, even in summer mornings and evenings are still cool.

i love swiftly's but i do find the fabric delicate. i love the two tone purple/grey.

what is the trick to keeping them snag free? or is there a way to deal with the snags to prevent them from becoming holes?

Where I live it's cold 6 months out of the year so I would LOVE that Tender Violet Define!! I missed out on the other ones so I'd better set my alarm tomorrow night so I don't miss out this time around :)

Hello,
I recently bought the Define in Angel Blue in my local store. Does anyone know if this is Brushed luon or regular luon?

Thanks!

I love comparison photos, thanks! I would really appreciate it if somebody could compare TV to dewberry. If they are quite similar (which I suspect) I can hold off buying a TV crb.

I am also interested in seeing Dewberry next to TV. In an earlier post, someone mentioned her TV CRB was very similar to a Dewberry item she had. I also stocked up on Dewberry last year, so don't intent to get much TV if it is that similar. A visual comparison would help.

I wanted to report that I soaked my Tender Violet CRB in hot water for quite a while and nary a bleed. I'm very excited about this as I know many, including myself, thought it might be a bleeder. My experience so far has been very good.

@7:59 I also got an Angel Blue Define and it is regular not brushed. I don't think I ever saw the Angel Blue in a brushed luon.

IMO dewberry is far more pink than purple. In person, TV is a very true purple, but not with blue undertones like bruised berry.

I was determined to get the TV reversible WUC since I love my dense purple reversible WUC but I just couldn't do it... They were too bright for some reason I didn't love the color although I LOVE both the bruised berry and power purple and dense purple. I was too violet for me ha ha!
I like the TV color in the swiftly but I hate the two tone, it just looks odd to me... Like the arms of another top were sewn on to the wrong shirt., those shirts only belong at baseball games in my opinion BUT to each their own.

Sigh. Why why why did they have to make the TV Swiftly LS a two-toned baseball-style version? Why not solid TV? They made the UV Swiftly LS a two-tone one, too.

Has the Power Purple come out already in the Define and I just missed it or will it be on this week's upload? Really love the color.

@Anon 7:59 The angel blue Define jacket was regular luon at $98. The brushed versions cost $108. $USD

I wash my swiftly in a Lulu-item load only, in cold water, and I hang them to dry. I also wash them inside of one of those mesh lingerie bags.

If I get a snag,I put this stuff called fray block on it.

I am careful when I wear them, too, with bags, jewelry, etc.

I do "baby" them, but I haven't found anything that performs as well as a swiftly for wicking, and they're a great base layer in my opinion.

ehhh...purple is purple...i'm so over it. pink too.

The Austin Domain store had both Power Purple and Concord Grape Defines, but not the TV.

Heard that the define has been re-designed for spring 2013, so if you love the current design this is something to consider over the winter. Why does lulu have to "fix" stuff that isn't broken??

LuluAddict said...

Uh oh - I can't think of any redesigns people like that much except perhaps the slim grooves.

Is it just me or are things not selling as well on eBay as they were say, 5 months ago?
Even really popular items (save a few like the quiet stripe WUC) are going for about retail now instead of way above retail. I wonder why this is?

I think the TV define looks too much like barney for me. And like a previous posted said, what is up with all the purple? I LOVE purple, but almost 80% of my lulu items from the last 2 years are purple! I haven't seemed to like a lot of their other colours, and if I do, they don't seem to make them in the items I want.

That being said, I went to a lulu store in Canada on the weekend (this is a rarity for me as I live 5 hours away from a store and do all my ordering online). I wanted to check out some of the items I have been seeing on this blog but not seeing online.

They didn't have the Blackswan herringbone wu's.. and the store rep hasn't heard of them? Seemed a bit odd. They also didn't have any of the TV items, no CRB or Defines.

They did have the bordeaux studio pants though and a couple scubas, which I wasn't expecting. I find scuba's too warm, so I passed though.

I did try on the blackswan lined DSP, and found that the new waist band worked better for me (didn't pull up as much to sit on the skinner part of my waist like my old ones), but I didn't like the new lining. I also had to size down from a 4 to a 2, which was unexpected, and the lady told me they will stretch a lot with wear. Is this normal?? They were shorter than my other DSP, which I liked, but for the price hike to $118, I left them on the shelf!

Also tried the denim WU pants, and even sizing up from a 4 to a 6, I could see my skin colour right under, even in the legs!

@ anon 7:21 pm - I have read some comments that there seems to be a lot more for sale on ebay lately but then I read tonight that a pair of pink camo speeds just went for $152 and Unicorn Speeds went for $127 so if you have a hot item you can make some money. As someone who likes to buy her lulu as cheap as she can, it seems like it might be trending towards a buyer's market. I just picked up a couple of NWT Cool Racerbacks I had missed when they were in the stores for just a few $ over what I would have paid in the store so I am happy with the current glut. I really didn't want to pay $80 for an Angel Blue Cool Racerback.

I am the poster about eBay. I like eBay, but usually find better deals on facebook pages. Just got some aqua/black camo speed shorts in NWOT for $55 shipped, which is a great deal and these are rare. I also have found stuff on eBay at a great buy in now price- think people just didn't know what they had, or they didn't call it by the correct name so harder to search for and less bidders. But in general I think you're right that there are a lot more items and therefore items aren't going for what they used to. It is more of a buyer's market now.

OT- I still don't understand the hype surrounding quiet stripe wunder unders! They look a little like pajamas too me but to each her own :)

I am a frequent LLL buyer/seller on ebay. Selling & buying items for myself, friends'/coworkers', and, yes, there is a glut of LLL. The average number of items usually for sale was about 10,000 just a few months ago. Now, the average is a little over 12,000. And it is the whole spectrum of brand new to vintage pieces. Yes, there are still sellers that buy every size of a recently released item and attempt resell it at some redonkulous price. I am not one of them--I can't afford LLL's current sticker prices, let alone in bulk!

As a buyer, I've scored some serious deals on items that I or my friends refused to buy in store at full price (MD prices even seem excessive sometimes). But, on the flipside, my selling prices are not nearly as profitable, let alone covering the original costs of purchase + eBay/PayPal fees.

The glut of items on eBay could also be a ramping up for the holidays. 'Tis the season where sellers are trying to increase their profits--just like the B&M stores...at any rate, if you can score a great deal on an item you missed out on in the store or just didn't feel it was worth the original sticker price, then go for it!

So this is a little OT, but I just received my replacement BTC jacket today in the size down, and the rip tag says size 8, but the hidden size "sticker" in the left pocket deffinately says 10!!! Woops!! It fits much better than the 10 I first ordered, so I'm going to assume it is actually the 8... Ha ha... They really need to get their sh*t together there! No wonder they're having issues with sizing!!
