More of the Latest & Lulu at the LA Marathon Expo

Photo of the Every Yogi tank in Heathered Dune. I could get into having this tank as a nice basic.

A good photo of the Dazzling/Dune Every Yogi Tee. Not totally love this creamsicle color combo.

Dazzling Every Yogi LS.

The Heathered Rocksteady Good Karma Pullover. Love this color.

Lulu is bringing two of their run containers to the LA Marathon Expo. I am very tempted to go and see what they have. This is what they said about them:

Run Hard, Play Loud There are actually two "boxes" or containers as we call them that are arriving at the expo next weekend! It's like a mini lululemon store is being brought to you! We have lots of fun surprises awaiting including some of our amazing running garments for men and women for purchase, an open air photo booth and much much more! Come see us at the Expo Friday and Saturday!

Those of you who have been to races where Lulu exhibited at the expo, do you think it's worth going? Will they actually have new stuff we haven't seen before? I know they wrote they'd have "surprises" and it probably would be surprising to the casual lulu buyer but we are the hardcore who is on top the latest to hit the stores.

LLA YOU have to go for those of us that are too far to attend! You never know what they will have an we count on you to bring it to us 'first!' No pressure! ;-)

LOL. Maybe Sea Wheeze stuff? We can only hope. ;-)

They had this at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon in September. If you're not running the race, I wouldn't make a special trip to the expo just for this. They usually don't carry anything special in the container. It's usually just the basics, in pretty boring colours.

Exactly what SeeAllyRun said, just basics in boring colours, and hardly any stock of anything. I was pretty disappointed because I was at least expecting the very latest items.

@ SeeAlliRun - Hmmm. Good to know. That's what I was afraid of.

A few things...noticed that every size in the Every Yogi LS UV/Dazzling was sold out before midnight last night, yet plenty of them have already popped up on ebay for $50+ above retail. Not that I wanted this shirt, but it irks me to no end that Lululemon can't keep even one new thing in stock for an entire 24 hours. And longer than a week? Forget about it. And they rarely restock items that have sold out. I've never had this experience with any other company outside of concert tickets. Is this what Lulu has become? Forcing us to either stay up until all hours of the night to ensure that we get what we want, or pay scalpers on ebay? Ridiculous. I think they need to spend less time and resources on putting out a new design every week (some hit or miss), and focus on keeping things they already have (and we already like!) in stock.

On a more positive note...I am in LOVE with Rocksteady, and I hope they bring back a bunch of items in it. I missed out on most of the Rocksteady stuff the first time around. I'll probably have to wake myself up in the middle of the night to get them, of course, but I would do that for a Rocksteady Every Yogi LS. :)

At the end of the day, I already have more Lulu than I know what to do with, and if their business practices continue to be a problem, I'll take my money elsewhere and probably be better off for it.

@anon 7:38- I used to buy everything I remotely liked in a frenzy, because I was afraid once gone, I'd never get it again! Now I just realize, eh, saved me some $$$. There's always something else I like coming down the pike. I wanted a dazzling yogi LS, but was concerned colors would run on the white side- I wanted to mull it over, and lost my chance. By the time I went to get it, it was gone in my size. There's $78 I saved, as I'm not hitting the stores anytime soon. I'd like a solid dazzling define, or that pinky bag thats in the photo scroll on the website. But I no longer feel like knocking myself out to get things before they are sold out to scalpers. The scarcity model isn't working for me, and it's saving me $$$ in the long run.

Another OT comment- home sick today watching back logged shows of Smash. I know it's been mentioned before on this blog - tons of lulu in every episode.

I completely agree about the ebay situation. I refuse to pay over retail for any item off ebay, but it is frustrating how fast some items disappear off the website. I think the exclusivity of the brand may be hurting sales. I am not going to get up in the middle of the night to purchase workout clothes.

The ebay scalpers really chap my hide. It drives me nuts that I cannot buy Lulu items 12 hrs post upload bc the ebay sellers have already snatched them up. Ridiculous! I refuse to get up in the middle of the night to make a Lulu purchase. I love to sleep. I need my sleep. I am not sure what the resolution is to this issue. But like all of you, I REFUSE to pay over retail for a Lulu item. I think they are expensive enough!

I saw the Every Yogi LS in the dazzling combo at the Nashville store just a little while ago, and honestly, my reaction was, "Eh."

The white-UV LS Swiftly, on the other hand, is really cute. Not cute enough for me to buy, because I get white shirts dirty faster than anyone else on the planet. But still cute.

Also, they had those Karma cropped pullover sweaters (can't remember the name) in heathered Rocksteady already marked down on the sale rack!

The ebay scalpers are aggravating me as well. The wee are from space pace setter skirt sold out in larger sizes right away and is now on ebay for triple the price. If I knew for sure that it was coming to stores I would just wait to buy it, but I don't know for sure and haven't seen it in store pics on this blog. My hope now is that it comes out online in the tall length. The fact that the website has it up on the banner picture when you CAN'T EVEN BUY IT just pisses me off even more. Aarggh

I should add that I do love ebay for tracking down older items. I've only been buying Lulu stuff for six months so I missed the first round of Pure Focus tanks. When I realized how much I loved the tank during the second run I was able to find old ones on ebay in Wren and Violaceous in my size. And for reasonable prices. Yay! But for current items that SHOULD be available from Lulu it is just silly.

I refuse to buy Lululemon gear on Ebay for more than the original cost. I don't need it that bad. Remember the Pig Pink tights in Dec/Jan that ended up on "We Made too Much" about a week later. They were $19 at the Ottawa WHS, I bought a pair b/c they were so cheap and they are actually warm. I saw them on Ebay last week, what a scam!

Totally agree w/ Lucy. I love ebay to snatch up the "vintage" Lulu items that are no longer available on the Lulu website. I have gotten some cool stuff at decent prices. But I won't pay too much.....Although, I am eyeing a pair of Lulu pants on ebay in my size right now. They will be mine (at the right price, of course).

LuluAddict said...

Oh yeah, I will not pay over retail for lulu. EVER. As monkey girl said, if I miss out on something there is usually something better or equally good coming down the road.

IF you guys are on Facebook, you should join the This Just In Swap and Lululemon Trading Post Pages. You can often find newer things (within 6 months - one year or so) that people bought but decided to move on.

OH MY GOSH! Finally get to vent a little about the ebay scalping situation. It is so freaking frustrating! I feel like I have to make the purchase if its something I like or Ill miss out and Iam not about to pay RIDICULOUS amount of money to get it. Every time I go in the store to, they can never keep the larger sizes in stock 10/12.

Another thing I wish they would be consistent in their sizing! For instance they only offer some bras in size 12 and not all but they leave the size crossed out. If they dont offer it dont list the size to begin with.

Ahh, I feel better. I love lulu but I wish they would take some constructive criticism.

LuluAddict, I've requested to join the This Just In group on Facebook, and my request has just been sitting there for weeks. Any advice on how to convince them to let me in?

We should all complain on the Lulu facebook page! This is getting annoying and I don't know who buys the stuff off eBay for triple the price, sometimes I won't even buy it regular price off the website! And sometimes it'll be an item that's still in stock (I saw orange and purple tank for $150 on there) but ya I definitely agree that this is out of hand.. I love their clothes but im sure I could live with the LuLu stash I have now for awhile if this nonsense doesn't come to an end.

Anon @ 6:25 -- I second what you said about the lack of 10s and 12s. And I also hate the way it's hard to tell whether something actually comes in a 12 or is sold out or just comes to a 10. And don't expect anyone in the stores to know, LOL. I have heard people who are size 2 complain about the same thing so it's not just the larger end of the spectrum who wants consistency!

And regarding the Lulu Trading Post, I requested to join it months ago and have gotten no response. Has anyone else been able to join? To those of you who are able to view it, are people actively trading right now?

This is one of the most ridiculous lulu auctions on ebay in long time:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lululemon-Gratitude-Wrap-size-4-Heathered-Mudd-RARE-and-VERY-hard-find-/270935502727?_trksid=m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D7026803342195737132

Basically, buy a popular lulu wrap at regular price, wear it until the color is totally oudated, and then put it up for auction on ebay at (most likely) triple the price you pay for it!!!

For real is this Lululemon64 in BC, Canada out of her mind?? I can only wonder.

Wow, was there really a color called "Heathered Mudd"? That has to be the most unappealing name I have ever heard for a color!

@ anon 6:52 pm - the admin of that group likes to keep membership at aobut 1200 or so and there is a waiting list. She does a roll call every couple of months to weed out the inactives and then adds new people.

Not sure what is going on with the Trading Post membership.

I wore the Every Yogi tank to a sweaty hip hop yoga class yesterday and will never do it again. It stretched and wouldnt stay put. I had to rearrange it often which is annoying when you are trying to practice. I love the tank to wear out and about with shorts or jeans but not for a sweaty vinyasa.
