Store Trip Report - X-Long Cool Racerbacks

If you read my twitter feed on the right side of the blog you'll know I got a chance to see the new X-Long Cool Racerbacks tonight at the El Segundo store. There are some differences in the fabric of the various colors. The Heathered Magnum and Rocksteady are made of regular luon light, are reversible, and made in Canada.  The Heathered Magnum, as is typical of "print" luons, has some polyester in it: 42% polyester, 45% nylon, 7% lycra spandex. The Rocksteady is the normal light luon formula of 92% nylon, 8% lycra.  The Surge, Lavender Haze, and Black are made of the same SPF material that was used in the Paradise Rashguard (similar to luxtreme, slippery, shiny material), is not reversible, and made in China.

Rocksteady X-Long CRB - made in Canada
I really liked the Heathered Magnum and will be getting it as soon as I find one in my size. I don't plan to wear it like most of these ladies, yanked down all the way, but gathered up a little like a tunic.

Yuck! They long unnaturally long. No me gusta!

did you see any city beat pants at that store?

San Francisco, Grant St. has the City Beat pant. I tried them on. They didn't look good on me, and I was so bummed! They're really cute!!

Sorry, but those crbs are just the most unflattering things... I would laugh if I saw someone wearing that. There are so many better ways to cover your bum..

I kind of like them but at the same time it's like - imagine the lines that will show from your pants underneath - I'd only ever get one in black, to wear with my reversible Wish and Black wunder unders!

Hmmm, all of the ladies look good, but I like the look of the x-long crb on some on them, but not on others. I guess it shows that this look works better on certain body proportions and types but not on others. I think it would look awful on me. The idea about scrunching it up to more of a tunic length though is a good idea.

In that picture, second from the bottom - is that Lavender Haze? I like the color. Is that the plum they are bringing for the fall or is that an old, recycled color?

Perhaps a dumb question- but did they just have leftover UPF fabric from the rashguard line? Otherwise, it's an odd choice for this particular product at this particular time of year, no?

@ cjrun: I totally agree, odd choice for this product and at this time of year! Aside from that, I still don't find them flattering. Thankfully, they are not a temptation for me.

Unless you are very tall, i don't get the look of the x-long CRBs. I don't think it's very flattering on any body type?! It looks like they're wearing a really tight dress to workout? Hmmmm

In the pictures I have seen so far, I have not seen this look flattering on anyone.

I am 6 feet tall (muscular shape) and the x-long CRB is very flattering on me... and not to long at all!

Ok so enough with the extra long CRBs!! When will we be seeing a "petite" version- shorter straps and shorter hem line?

shorter????? like the Scoop Neck Tank ??? blahhhhh

I'm excited to try the extra long crb. I hate when my butt shows with tanks and leggings.

Anonymous said...

I'm short. The last thing I need are even LONGER tanks!

They work for some people, they don't for others...same as most types of clothing. I'm still hung up on the stupid UPF fabric!!!!

If you don't like the length of the regular crb's, get them hemmed for free, people!

Also yeah i hate the length on the scoopnecks, but I also don't like the scoopneck itself. :)

The x-long crbs are unflattering. No two ways about it. You have to stand super straight in tadasana at all times to keep from looking like a luon sausage....no thanks! Remember the girls in the pic all have different postures so it's not necessarily "some body types" that it works for.

Besides, why would you want one solid color covering that much of your body? Especially if you're not tall? Those are just ridiculous IMO.

wearing that as a dress...are you going to the club or going to work out?!
