Wunder Under Pant Model - WTH?

Does Lululemon really think this photo of Wunder Under Pants *helps* sell pants? Why do they continue to use this model? Is she Chip's daughter or something? Find a decent model already.

Lulu Bomber - Totally Cute!

The new Lulu Bomber jacket almost makes me want to move to a colder climate so I can wear it. I love the big buttons!

Product Features:
  • Classic bomber fit with all the function of a technical softshell
  • Water resistant 2-way stretch fabric for ultimate comfort
  • Brushed fleece inner layer for added warmth
  • Super high collar keeps your face warm or folds down for style
  • Zipper pockets to secure your cell phone, cards, and keys
  • Back pleat for mobility while driving your car or scooter
  • Yours always - tag your name in a permanent marker!

Black Edging - Yawn

Lululemon is edging a lot of tops in black this fall. I find it very ordinary and not worth shelling out top dollar. Where are the eye-catching prints? Is the fall collection designed by the junior designers to give them experience? Last fall also had some pretty ugly tops and that fugly Fig color (grayish lavender). Remember the Alluring tank, the Sirsa tank, and the Fitness Tank? (Search this blog for the reviews on these.) I'll be sitting on the sidelines waiting for something eye catching to induce to me pay full price.

Bulerias Tank is $58 ?!?!

Lululemon just listed the Bulerias Tank on line. The price is $58. It seems a bit steep since the highly engineered Athletic Deep V goes for $54. I look forward to trying it on but it will have to pretty awesome for me to shell out $58.

Features:
  • Loose and flowy- this tank is perfect for dance, yoga or everyday activities
  • Combined luon & luon light for maximum support & comfort
  • Low/medium support tank w/ built-in bra
  • Hidden hem drawcord can be cinched keeping tank in place during activities
  • Longer length provides bum coverage
  • Wear this with your Wonder Unders or Boogie Shorts to class

Another Meh Fall Collection?

I made a quick trip to the Lululemon store yesterday to pick up a mesh headband in Caribe (finally can match my newest tops - yay!) and took a quick spin around the store to check out the new and markdown stuff. Unfortunately, all the spring and summer markdowns were totally gone and only the fall stuff was in. I was a bit bummed since I had my eye on an Athletic Deep V in gulf hoping for it to be marked down more but I guess I missed my window of opportunity.

I got to see the new Run: Skim Singlet in person and didn't like it much in the two-tone version as I do the solid black. I gotta say I am not loving the fall collection much this year thus far. I don't like the new designs and I don't like the colors. I'm not really a dark purple person and the new designs like the Salutation Tank (shown above), Inspire Tank, and Freestyle Tank aren't really doing it for me. There aren't any cute new prints and I hate the Space Dye stripes in the current color offerings. The newest style tops I like the best are the Free Ya and Bulerias. The store had a ton of Cool Racerbacks in lots of colors but they are so generic. I'm also not a fan of the all the new organic tops. They make me hot and itchy. I love Beechlu and Vitasea but Organic Cotton jersey does not do it for me. I also question why Organic Still pants are the same price as Still pants made from Luon. Isn't Luon a highly technical engineered fabric? What justifies the high price of non-breathable organic cotton? I like the new jackets that I've but since I live in Southern California I don't need that many jackets. I guess I'm gonna sit the fall season out. I'm not even sure I'll like anything better at half price.

Quick Review - Define Jacket - Awesome!

I tried on the Define Jacket a couple of weeks ago and really liked it. I believe it is an updated version of the classic Shape Up Jacket. It is made of luon and is meant to fit close to the body. To me, the best design feature is the back vent. I just love the look of this; it just makes your waist look so small. There is mesh underneath for breathability.

PS - I also liked the Off to Class Jacket and will post as soon as I get a photo and product info.

Product Features:
  • All sport warm up jacket for all body shapes
  • Made with luon, our signature fabric
  • Great for the gym or going down to the barn to feed the chickens
  • Chin protecting zip garage
  • Front zip pockets to secure $ & keys
  • Chafe resistant - flat seams

Run: Skim Singlet - Want It

It looks like my poo poo-ing of the Inspire Tank (see review below) worked. Lululemon just put the Run: Skim Singlet on its website and it addresses all my dislikes of the Inspire Tank. This is definitely not a fat girl top. It has a flattering (not to mention more breathable) v-neck, a racerback, and flattering decorative seaming. It's made of my favorite lightweight, breathable, stretchy silverescent material and it a longer length. I cannot wait to try this on!

Skim Singlet Features:
  • shelfless body-skimming tank perfect for running or the gym
  • Made of lightweight Silverescent™ using X-Static, the silver fibre
  • Anti-stink & anti-static
  • 4-way stretch Luxtreme® binding for added support
  • Open neckline for breathability
  • Longer length to cover your bum, perfect for layering with tights
  • Internal mesh pocket to store your cards or keys
  • Chafe resistant - flat seams

Lululemon Loot - Dance Twisted Tank in Fatbird Floral

I just ordered another Dance: Twisted Tank in the Crystal Pink Fatbird Floral print from the Lululemon Loot Section. (It's weird, it doesn't show up now but if you search for it you can order it). I have a black Twisted Tank I wear out to dinner all the time but I loved the Crystal Pink Fatbird Floral print since I first saw it in my store the Hip Halter Tank. The Twisted Tank never showed up in my part of the country in this print so I am forced to order it from the Loot section. Since the price is right I ordered it.

Speaking of Dance tops, I can't wait to try on the new Bulerias Tank.

Dance: Twisted Tank Features
  • Some like it loose - adjustable strap tank with a relaxed cut
  • Front bust detail adds fullness to the bust for the less endowed
  • Hidden hem drawcord can be cinched so it will stay in place during activity or for a different look
  • Low open back keeps you cool
  • Longer length provides bum coverage
  • Wear this with your Wonder Unders or Boogie Shorts to class
  • Made with luon, our signature fabric
Bulerias Tank Features:

  • Loose and flowy- this tank is perfect for dance, yoga or everyday activities
  • Combined luon & luon light for maximum support & comfort
  • Low/medium support tank w/ built-in bra
  • Hidden hem drawcord can be cinched keeping tank in place during activities
  • Longer length provides bum coverage
  • Wear this with your Wunder Unders or Boogie Shorts to class

  • Celebrity Lululemon - LeAnn Rimes

LeAnn Rimes sporting Lululemon. I have that same Athletic Deep V top - Mac N Cheese Yellow with Deep Navy Accents. The shorts are the Run: Speed Shorts. Can't wait for the newest Deep Vs to show up in the stores and on-line.

    Sequence Tank - So Comfy!

I bought myself a Sequence Tank this weekend before they're gone for the year. It is a low support tank designed for hot yoga. The cups are made of luon but the rest of the top is made of lightweight, breathable circle mesh which makes a great top for hot workouts. There are ties at the side so you can cinch up the waist for more cooling. The top is pretty low cut but you can layer a Flow Y bra underneath for more support and coverage. The girl at the store told me this is what she does when she wants to use the top for activities other than hot yoga. There are cup pockets if you want more support and coverage. I find this top very comfortable and versatile.

    • Too shy to wear just a bra - this is the tank for your Hot yoga practice
    • •Fabric on bodice panel treated with an anti-stink finish
    • •Sideseam gathers for a personalized length & ventilation
    • •Mesh/WDW bra construction for optimum breathability & comfort
    • •Soft brushed elastic for added comfort
    • •Chafe resistant - flat seams

Extend Crop III - Great Basic!

I recently bought a pair of Extend Crop IIIs and can't say enough good things about them. If you are looking for a basic pair of crops be sure to check out the Extend Crop IIIs. They are a straight leg crop but that doesn't mean the legs flap around. They have an ipod pocket on the inside of the waistband. They are very similar to the Relaxed Fit Crop. I have owned a pair of those, too, but if I had to pick between the two, I would choose the Extend crops. The cut and the locations of the seaming seems to hold your tummy in / define your rear just a little more in the Extends. They are excellent for nearly any activity. I wore mine to spin class this morning.

    Product Features:
    • Relaxed fit for lower impact sports
    • Made with luon, our signature fabric
    • Drawstring for added support
    • 4 way stretch fabric
    • Chafe resistant - flat seams

    Try On Review: Inspire Tank

I've tried and tried to like the Inspire tank. I've watched the video on Facebook. I've tried it on. But all I can muster is a lukewarm admiration.

I like that it is made of a combo of my two favorite lightweight Lululemon materials, Luxtreme and Silverescent, that are a dream to do heavy duty cardio in. I like that it was designed for larger chested women. I like that it comes in a very rare size 14. But it really doesn't speak to me.

I know I'm shallow but when I pay big bucks for Lululemon I want to feel prettier, slimmer, sexier than before I put it on. If I didn't, I'd just wear some old tee shirt and sweats to the gym.

Maybe I don't care for it because the color combos it comes in are rather dull. I dunno. I think the design detail that bugs me the most is the collar. I didn't care for it on the Race Tech and I don't like it at all on this top. I'm sure I'd like this top more if it were a pure scoop neck style.

Maybe I'd like more if it had more eye catching color blocking or slenderizing seaming or came in an unusual print. The whole top just screams "fat girl" at me. That's just my opinion. It's a great technical top but for the money I want technical and pretty.

    Inspire Tank Features:
    • Ideal shelfless tank to wear over your full support bra of choice
    • •Scoop neckline & wide straps provide just enough coverage
    • •Silverescent™ using X-Static, the silver fibre
    • •Anti-stink & anti-static
    • •4-way stretch Luxtreme® provides extra support
    • •Body-skimming torso with longer length hem
    • •Hem drawcord to prevent the top from riding up
    • •Chafe resistant - flat seams

Beating The Heat With Lululemon - Favorite Strappy Tanks

My husband recently mentioned to me our July air conditioning bill was surprisingly low considering how hot it had been. One reason may be because I wear Lululemon around the house on hot days (ok, every day) and can keep cool enough using only ceiling fans.

My two favorite tops to beat the summer heat that also look good as street wear are the Twisted Tank and the Conditioning Tank. They have built in bras with cup pockets which help eliminate a layer of clothing yet give you adequate coverage. Additionally they are also low support so they are super comfortable and don't squeeze your ribs.

Another great tank for hot days that is at the top of my list of tops to get is the Sequence Tank shown pictured above. The Sequence Tank shows a lot of skin and is extremely low support so I wouldn't classify it as street wear (frankly, it could double as a bathing suit) but if you are looking to keep cool, it's a good one to check into.

Lululemon also makes a number of strappy tanks in organic cotton. I have to be honest, I do not find the organic cotton tops very cool compared to those made of the technical fabrics like luon, lullure, and luxtreme. I have a Move Tank which is made of organic cotton. Although Lululemon's website says the top is designed for hot weather and hot workouts, I find the fabric heavy and not very breathable at all, particularly in the midsection. Don't get me wrong, I like my Move Tank a lot, but when the weather is heading towards the 90s, it is not the tank I reach for first.

The Conditioning Tank is made of Lullure and has a Circle Mesh back for optimal breathability. It almost feels like you are not wearing anything. It is a low support tank with adjustable straps and a built in bra with cups. It is loose fitting in the middle and has a gathered bust to make the most of your charms. It is very lightweight and wonderful for hot summer days.

The Twisted Tank is the top I wear out to dinner a lot. The website says it is made of luon but I think it may be a lighter version or even lullure since it is so buttery soft and breathable. The girl on the website wears it very loose but you can safely go down a size in this top and still have it fit loose through the midsection without the bra cups becoming too small. I've gotten a few product alerts with the Educators modelling these and not one has worn it as loose as the website model. It also has a elastic string at the bottom so you can cinch it up.

The Sequence Tank is not on the website but it may be in your local stores. You can also call in the GEC (Guest Education Center) and order it. I really like this tank. It is very low support but made of circle mesh and is super light weight. It feels like you are wearing nothing. It has drawstrings up the sides so you can cinch it up to aid in cooling.

    Sequence Tank Details:

    - Too shy to wear just a bra - this is the tank for your Hot yoga practice
    - Fabric on bodice panel treated with an anti-stink finish
    - Sideseam gathers for a personalized length & ventilation
    - Mesh/WDW bra construction for optimum breathability & comfort
    - Soft brushed elastic for added comfort
    - Chafe resistant - flat seams

    Conditioning Tank Details:
    • This tank will definitely keep you cool during your workout
    • Wicking/quick dry lullure fabric offers you coverage while circle mesh bodice will keep you cool
    • Straps can be worn 2 ways - x-back or regular
    • Mesh/WDW bra construction for optimum breathability & comfort
    • Chafe resistant - flat seams
    Twisted Tank Details:
    • Some like it loose - adjustable strap tank with a relaxed cut
    • Front bust detail adds fullness to the bust for the less endowed
    • Hidden hem drawcord can be cinched so it will stay in place during activity or for a different look
    • Low open back keeps you cool
    • Longer length provides bum coverage
    • Wear this with your Wonder Unders or Boogie Shorts to class
    • Made with luon, our signature fabric

Try On Review - Run: Focus Tech - Awesome!

I am a big fan of Lululemon's running line and the new Run: Focus Tech short sleeved tee is worth a look if you are in the market for a lightweight breathable tee to wear running or for intense workouts at the gym. It is made of Lululemon's lightweight stretch silverescent that is anti-static and anti-stink. The top is loose fitting but it's cut to flatter the female shape - no boxy tees for Lululemon. It's gathered at the neck and has a drawstring at the bottom to cinch it up during hot spin classes. The sleeves are very short, almost a cap sleeve. There is a pocket for credit cards or ipod. This is a great lightweight technical tee for those who like a little more coverage without sacrificing maximum cooling.

OMG!!! - This Blog Has A Mention in New York Magazine

Wow!!! I've hit the big time with a mention in New York Magazine's article on Lululemon, Lust for Lulu. Thanks to the Yoga Dork blog for the find. Here is the paragraph with the mention:

Avril Lavigne wears Lulu. Brooke Shields wears Lulu. Felicity Huffman, Jennifer Garner, Courteney Cox, Kate Winslet, and Kate Hudson wear Lulu. There are Lululemon blogs with names like Lululemon Addict and hundreds of Facebook groups, many devoted to celebrating Lululemon’s ability to make butts look great, with evidentiary photographs.

I'd like to comment on a couple of points from this article:

Luluheads - The Community Relations Director calls Lululemon fans "Luluheads." Hmmmm. I dunno about that. I know New York is one of the newer markets in America for Lululemon but I've never read the term 'luluhead' on any fansite or facebook post. I have, however, read the term lemonhead. Also, the head is not where we wear our Lululemon. I don't like it and reject it.

Lululemon Bags on Every Block of NY's Upper East Side - As it happens I was just in New York earlier this month, on both the upper east and upper west sides. I think I spotted a sum total of 3 Lululemon shopping bags and perhaps two people sporting Lululemon pants while out jogging. Lululemon may be big in the studios of NY, but it isn't out on the street much (yet).

Didn't Mention the Lululemon Blog Site Lululemon Blog has been around a lot longer than this site. However since we are the Addict site it probably went better with the author's them of lusting for Lululemon. Yoga Dork also covers Lululemon a lot but is primarily a yoga oriented blog.
