Also, any intel on if these "speed up" shorts are replacing the speed shorts ? I'm wondering if the long version would replace the run times... 🤔 Curious!
@reya - If I was forced to guess, I'd predict the Speed Up line is replacing Speed Tights/Crops/Short. The name and styling is too similar. They're just easing us into it. That's purely a *GUESS* on my part but I would not be surprised if it happens.
I was in my store this morning and tried on the new speed up short in this print. The ed said that the new speed short had a lighter waistband fabric that is supposed to feel better when you get sweaty and a different pocket configuration - it still has the slim back pocket and 2 front side pockets one of which might be slightly bigger but I couldn't recall a difference. It didn't look any different to me but I felt compared to my usual size in speed shorts that the waist band was a bit looser.
I bought that new colorful print in Run Times II in my local store this morning. The tag says "we updated the waistband on this classic design, but kept the 4" inseam". I am a 6 in all versions of Trackers, for these I had to size up from my regular 6 to an 8.
finally some color..hope it comes out in a skort..anyone know if they are keeping the pace rival crop? Love those or any thoughts on another tight running crop?
I tried the Run Times II in my store earlier. They felt the exact same as the Run Times and I had them up next to a pair of the original in the same size and they were exact. Differences I saw was a different pull on the waistband and looks like some seaming was added in spots and taken away in spots.
What i'd really like to see on these updated pieces is a larger zip pocket for my larger phone. I literally need just an inch in width so add 1/2" on each side in pocket space and i'd be good to go. Wouldn't really even have to change anything. Just cut a slightly larger pocket piece.
Hi LLA - is the Circuit Breaker Skirt II new this week? I'm dying for a new skirt style to come out (the last 2 have been disasters!) - this one wasn't bad in the original version so, if this is new, I'm hopeful it might be a step in the right direction!
Lulu addict - any word on what is happening to our beloved Pace Rival Crops? There hasn't been any new releases since Black Grape and they have been moving to WMTM lately. I hope they aren't getting rid of these!!!
I tried on the Run Times ll yesterday and I disagree with Anon 3:31pm. I found the new version fit snugger all over. I am a size 6 in all LLL shorts and the original Run Times fit me perfectly but there is no way I will ever buy this new version. The store didn't have the new Speed Up 4" inseam short for me to try on but I am going to check them out and see if they are a better fit than the Run Times ll.

Not loving the print, but I think it does look best when trimmed with black waistband.
An ed told me that they will be phasing out the Speed Short by the end of the year and replacing them with the Speed Up Short.
