I ordered the Whirlpool Essential Tank last week. I was a bit disappointed to find that the top looked darker on the website than it is in person. I think I'm probably going to return it but will hope for some other cute Whirlpool tanks. Above is a photo of it compared to Tofino Teal.
I also pulled out a more pure-blue, Lakeside Blue, to compare to.

Thanks for colour compares...they are helpful. I found whirlpool to be closer to jet set blue but not the heathered version. Schocking blue is brighter than whirlpool and lighter. I got whirlpool fast and free crops as i love that shade of blue...i guess it might be close to kayak too.
@ anon 3:12 pm - I have a Deep Green Essential tank I bought off the markdown racks at Xmas and this Whirlpool one is the second of the "new" Essential tanks that I've ordered that has a different feel and fit from the versions out last year. It seems they've tweaked the design a bit. I'll be returning mine, too.

If I had to guess I'd say Jaded, unless it's a new color. Jaded seems to come up light or dark depending on what they pair with it in the photos.
The whirlpool essentials tank for me was way smaller, thinner and scratchier than my other essentials tank! So disappointed. Back it goes
