I ordered the Daisy Run Times mainly because I nearly passed out from shock that the Run Times FINALLY got a print uploaded and not another solid color. Now, had the Daisy been a multi-colored print that would have been so pretty. But I'll take what I can get from them these days...
No offense to Lulu, but the lighting for their new photo style looks so bright and weird. I like the subtle, darker lighting of their usual photos much better.
Anyhow, I love all the Jaded stuff, but it just doesn't go well with my skin. Still hoping for a Define Jacket in Boysenberry!
There is also a new CRB-boysenberry
Wow...submarine colour is so close to alberta lake? Nile blue? Jaded? Poseiden? Noctunal teal? It def looks more green than blue...i think. Would love some feedback for anyone who saw it in real life.
Maybe that new Intended tank for me
The new background hurts my eyes and it's washing out the clothes. It's awful. What was wrong with the light gray or tan one?
I'm continually confused by so much Pima cotton. It's great casual wear but not for performance wear, which is what I shop at lulu for. Does anybody regularly work out in Lima cotton and find it substantial? I feel like I just sweat through it.
I'm eyeing the submarine define and the dark adobe fast & free.
@Cristina: Thanks for the heads up about the boysenberry CRB. I'm looking for something in boysenberry that's not a tight or swiftly.
So...it's looking like no dresses this season?
I just LOL'd at the new photography - at first glance i thought they were going more for the edgy carbon38 look but you absolutely nailed it when you said Outdoor Voices. Ugh this look just doesn't work for Lululemon. It's like they are trying SO hard. I don't know if I'm the only one who sees this. They definetly aren't innovative anymore that's for sure.
I'm so sick of teals & navys. The designs continue to disappoint me every week. The new intended tank is basically a blah version of the cool to street tank. I still don't understand why the Power Pose Tank replaced the Power Y - the new Power Pose is very cheap looking with the skinny straps. Blahhhh...just seems like the brand isn't what it used to be. I'm really not sure who to blame, the art director, creative director, CEO, or the designers.
I wish I could fit into Ivivva. There's so much more life color & originality to the apparel than lululemon.
It seems they are doing anything & everything to bring up sales but in the end it comes down to the designs just being shitty & just basically a cheaper ugly version of the OG's.
I ordered the Soundwave Trackers. I do like the Ornate crops, but need more pockets.
I wish they'd make some of these colors in the Love Tank. It's so hot, I reach for those more than the tees. Oh well. Good for my wallet.
I wonder how much difference there is between Submarine and Midnight Teal. I liked the Midnight Teal Define online, but found the colour disappointing in person. I wonder if Submarine will be better. For $128 CAD + tax, it will have to be gorgeous before I buy it. On that note, I'd love to see a comparison between Midnight Teal, Jaded, and Submarine.
I agree about the new white background in the photos- so hard to see the detailing because everything is washed out. I've also been annoyed the past few weeks that it seems to take about 5-6 hours before the upload shows up on the app- what's the point of having the app then?
I really love the line up racerback but I'm on the fence bc it's cotton..
I only noticed because I ordered one and I was waiting for them to come out o the CRB because I think is a pretty subtle hint if colors since I like darker colors.
Has anybody had any issues with the new plastic zipper pulls on the Defines? I haven't bought one for quite a while, and recently noticed that they have changed the pulls to these longer skinny plastic things. They feel very flimsy in comparison to the nice chunky metal ones that they used to use.
Love all the Pima cotton tanks. I recently got a ton of them for the summer. I wear them to everything, kickboxing, hiit, rowing, weights. They are lightweight and breathable. No sweat stains for me!
@ anon 7:11 am - I have the Marvel Define that has the newer style zipper and haven't had a problem with it. I don't love the look but it works fine.
@ anon 6:04 am - I agree, Nocturnal Teal was rather flat when you saw it in person. I'm hoping Submarine is rich-looking in person.
@emily - My favorite Love Tanks are the version with the pocket and curved bottom. I wish they'd bring that one back again.
@Erika Love - not yet, at least. I know people have been complaining so I wouldn't give up hope that they can't come out with something quickly.
@Laura Coaxum - I have a few cotton tops I use at the gym - love tank IV? (the ones with the pocket and curved hem), Get Low Scoop, and Trapeze Twist. They're all thinner, looser fitting, and expose a lot of skin so I don't find them overly hot. However, I don't think I'd do something super sweaty in them like run or spin class.
@ toni lande - I thought Carbon 38, too, when I first saw the new styling but then I pulled up Outdoor Voices and it was a total dupe. However, some of the new look is growing on me - they pulled in a wider variety of skin tone of models, with a super pale blonde (my pasty-skin dupe!) and and an Asian woman. They're also starting to style with a bit more color - the Submarine Define has a Faded Zap bra under it, the aurora Breeze By Muscle tank is styled with a Velvet Dust bra and Magnum shorts, the Cobalt Intended Tank has a Velvet Dust bra under it, Jaded Tight Stuff Tights with a Seascape Long Distance Short Sleeve top, etc. It's long overdue that they started leveraging their color palette and started putting together true combos of the latest items to try and sell you an outfit. It's also much more interesting to look at. Their stylists have been phoning in the web styling for years now, usually pairing the featured item with core pieces in black, gray, or navy.
Remember when there was such a thing as a color story?
@anon 3:43, submarine is a deep, rich color. It has a lot more green in it than jaded. Jaded falls on the blue spectrum while submarine fall on the green spectrum. Both are beautiful jewel tones that look good together. I tried a jaded tight with the submarine define. Very pretty combination. It would look good with one of the pink tone tanks under the define.
@anon 7:11, I sometimes have trouble too when zipping it when it's not on. I found that if you hold the bottom of the plastic zip up side rather than the inserting side, it does the trick.
Jaded has more blue tones...submarine is more green. I personally dont like dark forest green or alberta lake so that was an easy pass for me
The website goes from bad to worse. They do these side butt close ups trying to showcase the product when all I want to see if there's a pocket for my phone. Some of the new models are cute. Colors are still looking like fall to me. I like the ornate crops but no pocket?
@Lisa B - I know! I miss those days.
@ anon 12:35 pm - ooh! Nice to know Jaded and Submarine look nice together. I love dark teals so am very happy to see these new colors.
Lulu's developers are slacking big time with the app. It's not even showing any of the new stuff for me.
I went to the store and broke the bank today. I bought Intended tank , 2 Long Distance tanks in Nail and Boisenberry and Pushing limits bra in Chrome and black. Also had them order me Free to be Serene bra in Velvet Dust. All the colors look amazing to me right now. I’m planning to wear these tanks for workouts and outside the gym.
Current Lululemon colorstory= (black + white + grey + navy) * a smidge of bright color not related to previous colors. I miss the old days.....
Pima Cotton is such a rip off fabric. I refuse to purchase anything made of it.
Pima cotton is so comfy to me for just casual wear..I wore pima cotton during a group fitness class and sweat the same amount as on my runs, but it wasn't as comfortable once sweaty as my other running tops that aren't cotton. So I much prefer it for casual wear.
Hi Lisa, would you be able to explain to a relative Lulu newbie what a color story is? I have like 7 year old Wunder Unders but didn't start following the company until recently. I'm curious about the color stories because I keep seeing it brought up as something people miss.
