Wow, I hate all of this. I am so not their target market. Everything looks impractical and trying too hard to look "hot". It's very Bandier. It's very serious. I'm sorry that Lulu doesn't stand for upbeat, fun clothes anymore. I don't think we need another company making this type of gear.
I do not like the seaming that makes a point down..... reminds me on nike! Nothing against them either just its their signature seaming! I kind of like that tall tee except the vents in the sides! Seems like they always just miss the mark. Haven't bought anything from them for over a year, not because i don't like "anything", mostly because the color choice isn't there for me or because the price is just too high or I'm just not excited about it period! I have been buying from other labels and really likeing what is out there! That said there is room for another label to take up the vacuum that has been left by lulu selling out! I would love to see functional/pretty/comfortable/reasonable pricing.
@ anon 1:33 am - Yeah, their seaming has not been great lately. Lululemon used to nail placing seams in strategic places to visually slenderize the leg but it seems they've lost that ability now. It's too bad, it was one of the subtle things that really made the brand stand out.
@Rise and Shine - Agree - you can take functional off the table, too. I've been on campus at my kid's high school lately volunteering for various end of the year events and never really realized how many girls are wearing the brand now just to hang out in. I saw a girl in Tight Stuff Tights and was a bit horrified some kid was using $150 uber-technical run tights as their status pants.
I am still trying to figure out what lulu is thinking in terms of their designs. The colors are really dull and the styles are not very functional for a serious workout. Maybe there are just too many workout brands out there.
They're trying too hard to compete with brands that are primarily Instagram fodder and whose clothes are really only functional for wearing casually. Lululemon's technical offerings are terrible to non-existent of late, and their most popular products based on the chatter I see seem to be products that are admittedly terrible from a quality standpoint, but things people are ok 'damaging out' and buying again and again because...why? I'm confused because the quality is obviously circling the drain, and while I am in their target market, there is a certain desperation to their offerings, and it's a real turnoff. The brand has just become too unreliable, and its product line too trendy, confused and diluted.
