I recently ordered a few bras from some other athletic/yoga brands. They were very unsupportive overly stretchy materials, some with no lining or pockets for cups. If they did have pockets they still didnt provide the cups. Disappointing bc in terms of style they were more appealing than Lulus offerings. The bra pictured here reminds me more of some I'm seeing in other brands, but Lulu is following not leading with this design.

Re. "Deep Cove" SS, the intended front should be the back instead.

@ anon 9:59 pm - whose bras are you liking? I tried a few on when I was at athleta last week but I already had about 30 items in the dressing room and bras take a dedicated session so I only tried a couple and didn't buy any. The ones I tried on had cups and pockets for them.

it just keeps getting worse each week!!!

So disappointed in these designs.

The deep V front is hilarious actually. Gave me a good chuckle.

I ordered a bunch of leggings and bras last week from several different brands because I was just getting so frustrated by Lulus lack of color and interesting design. Got some things from Noli Yoga, Varley, Liliybod, Werkshop, and Lanston. The bra I got from Lanston was super cute but made from a "barely there" kind of material which isn't my personal fav, especially for a bra. Too stretchy. Got 2 bras from Noli Yoga-one had spot for removable cups but the material is really stretchy so ultimately not super supportive. The other bra had no place to put cups and was just a thin unlined material. Also limited sizing (s, m, l) and I got the small (I'm a 34b, size 4 in Lulu bras) and my poor little bosom was swimming in it :-( Varley bras haven't arrived yet. Anyway Lulu bras are hands down most supportive for me, I'm just bored of the same ol styles. Haven't tried Athleta yet.

I went back and looked up the styles I ordered. For reference, I got the Juliet and Aria ballerina bra from Noli Yoga. The Juliet bra does have a place to insert cups. A bit stretchier/less compressive than I usually prefer (but of course its not meant for HIIT) but I plan on keeping it. The Aria bra does not have a place for cups and gives my small chest no support so I'd have to wear another bra underneath it to make it work. Love the style though.

The Lanston bra I ordered is the mesh insert bra in snake. Much stretchier than I expected. I ordered a small and it was way too big on me (I wear a snug 4 in lulu bras). It does have removable cups though and I might reorder an xs to try. Nice quality.

I also ordered the Varley bandini carrera marble bra and brooks maris snake bra. Those should arrive this week, so we'll see.

Overall I've had a great experience ordering from these brands, btw. Tricky trying new brands and getting the right fit but I'm glad I branched out.

The Deep Cove Tee and Tank are just another marketing strategy by LLL to sell more bras. I thought with all the mesh, barely there backs, narrower racerbacks and dropped armholes that they had covered or should I say uncovered everything they could to show more of the sports bras but I guess I was wrong. It looks like this company will stop at nothing to push the sales of their bras and I think it's getting a little old and frankly too self-serving. As much as they say it's all about good ventilation, to me it's all about selling more bras and nothing else. Is this what women really want for workout wear or for casual wear? Is this what LLL active wear has become, nothing more than exposing our chests so that LLL can sell more bras? I know there is a market that exists for woman who like to workout only in their sports bras and wear tops and tanks that expose a lot of their bras but when a company is purposely pushing this look so they can up their sales it just really bothers me because it seems like unique exciting design and style are on longer important. Cut a deep V in front or make a backless tank or throw in a lot of mesh and call it day, ho hum.

The deep cove took what I hated about the love tee and made is 100 x worse.

So many over priced, similarly looking, full zip hoodies in gray & black. Not special. Not creating a new want or need. Sad.

okay, that bra is so cute, but the woman in the photo looks about an A cup and you can see cleavage shadow. IMAGINE the cleavage if you're a B, C, D, DD or, oh wait, Lulu doesn't make anything for you if you're above that LOL.

OT - has anyone tried on or run in the brushes get ready joggers? Hoping to wear them for cold weather runs with my doggie. Thanks for your feedback!

@ anon 4:57 am & 5:36 am - Thanks! I'm going to check those brands out.

The bra is cute, if it weren't for the mesh. I'm so over the mesh, especially the new, itchy kind. I did get an email from their digital engagement team regarding a review I'd left. I let them know that the newer mesh is terrible and that I'm starting to look elsewhere for run crops and tights because I like the leg pockets, but don't like their mesh. I hope they listen (not likely).

I don't even have words for the Deep Cove tee and tank. They are just ridiculous. It LOOKS ridiculous. There is nothing cutting-edge about that design.

Dear God, that hoodie is monstrous.

Yuck. LLL has fully jumped the shark.

Totally agree with everything you said anon 6:02 AM.

Also agree with anon 7:42 AM in that LLL seems to mostly cater to the smaller cup sizes, A cup or small B cup sizes at most. and forget it if you have a small ribcage with an average size or larger bust. I actually do like the Ta Ta Tamers because I can get a small enough band size with a decent enough coverage cup size that works for me. Would love more choices though. Would love energy bras with a bit more room and a tad higher coverage in the cups area while still being able to get the band size small enough - going up in sizes to get a more appropriate fit in the cups area does not work since it makes the band huge and gaping. I still can't get over that Ta Ta Tamer Bras are supposed to be for larger cups sizes *but* they have A cup models modelling them and they actually look like they fit them well and even have some cleavage in them!

Also, I thought a few months ago I read on this blog that they were going to be making Flow Y bra, etc in C - D cups in addition to the A - B cups sizes but have not seen any online... Would be great if they could do this with Energy Bra, etc too (I am guessing only difference would be more room in cups area so no sizing up would be involved and the band would fit properly). I think AA - A, B - C, and D - DD would be nice to have as options for all the bras like Energy, etc.

FYI just received the Varley bras/leggings in the mail. First impressions of the quality are excellent. Bras are lined-good. Neither has a space to insert pads-bad. Ugh. I am literally thinking of breaking out my sewing machine to put pads in myself because they're so nice...but I shouldn't have to do this. Am I the only one who thinks removable pads should come standard? These bras are already lined. Wouldve been relatively easy to create a space for them. Anyway, apart from that, I recommend them-sharp gear.

and the lulu yawn fest continues. More of that crappy mesh? yup. Boring print? yup. Crops with no thigh or zipper pockets? yup. Yet ANOTHER boxy/shapeless/unfeminine gray hoodie? Yup. I don't even know what to say about that deep cove stuff. No. Just no. Another week of money saved.

I can't picture a single scenario in which my whole bra is showing from the front. It's cute when the funky straps show in the back (depending on the style of the top), but I have a few of those tops, so I don't need more. I'm guessing they were trying to think of something new to sell us in this vein and failed.

Probably I'm not the target audience? I wouldn't work out in that. And I'm trying to picture myself picking up my kids from school or shopping Costco in that get-up, haha!!! Nope.

Why don't we just put the deep cove tee/tank on the "What the F*€k 2017" list right now? ;[

I'm a DD and when I wear the Energy bra (which is fine when you're standing up) under a normal LLL tshirt if I am doing yoga or pilates you end up smacking yourself in your face with your boobs, so goodness knows what sort of a floor show I'd give if I wore those low cut vests and tees which would give no coverage at all.

I am getting frustrated with LLL sizing, it seems they only produce a few size 12s and some of the styles online (particularly the new upload which has some things I would have ordered) don't even come in a 12, or even a 10. Maybe they have them in store but if this is going to be an on-going thing I won't be able to buy their products. I appreciate their market is size 4-8 perhaps but if you are going to do a size 12 at lest have some in stock! I'm hoping to get down to a 10 in the coming months which has really been more for health reasons than wanting to fit into clothes but at least then I'll have more choice.

I just looked at my trapeze twist tank and on the hang tag is says "... to show off your favourite bra"

I must be the only one because I LOVE the deep V shirt. I hope it comes to the US because I would totally wear that.

Bra pads annoy me. They get all messed up when I do laundry and it's a pain to fix them. I don't see any problem with wearing lined bras/tops

okollusion said...

Those V front Cut shirts are hilarious. What the freaking freak? Hahahahahaha ...

@Anon 7:42am LOL totally agree. You're funny

@Anon 12:44 Definitely way more support is needed. They don't get it.

As for bras, Even Victorias Sectrets does not make size for me. I have a smalll ribcage 29" and the rest of the flesh above is a whopping 37" which make my correct US size bra 30J (yep J) - UK=30GG victorias Secret girls will tell me my size is a 36DD or 34DDD, but my poor boobs fall out from the bottom in anything bigger than a 32 band. And even with their biggest cup/smallest band i'm doubleboobing up top. Only workout bra I can wear is from Panache. Panache Sport. Highly recommended, but please buy the size that matches with your ribcage for the best support. None of that add 4 or 5 bulldroppings. When the ribcage matches, you'll end up with a much bigger cup than you thought. Would be nice to wear cute bras too, but ...oh well. At least I can fit normal store size and LLL workout leggings and tops so wont cry too much :D

@ anon 10:41 am - the Flow Y in cups sizes was a test idea they sold at my store. I bought one of the Flow Ys in the C/D but I'm not sure if they decided to go forward with the idea or not.

@ anon 11:57 am - good idea - done!

You are spot on Anon 6:02 AM.

The Deep Cove T and Muscle Tank are ridiculous. Anyone who is serious about working out is not going to wear this thing that is going to gape and shift all over the place. I can only imagine it in yoga hahaha. Even if you were lifting weights, it's too low and loose and is going to get in the way. It's idiotic.

I gather this is a shirt for those who are intentionally trying to look sexy when and if they workout and "look at me and my bra and breasts". And by workout, I mean nothing really serious is actually happening. Or it's the set that just fully pretends to look like they workout.

I'm very fit and if I happen to look sexy when I workout it is a by-product. It is a never a goal and it is the last thing on my mind. I hate that the current Exec at LLL is taking this approach that women want to overtly want to look sexy. But that's no surprise, what a man thinks a woman should do.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 8:43 am - Yeah, the thing that bugs me the most about those Deep Cove tops are that they are completely un-(non-?)functional. Like you said, they would shift all over the place if you tried to workout in them. Though, I suppose you can do something completely vertical in them like the elliptical or step mill. I can only imagine how they will gape open when sitting so even using them as casual-wear seems problematic. I found the design very insulting, frankly.

Anonymous said...

I'm very fit as well and train like a pro athlete. But I do like looking sexy. However, this top is a no go for me for the gym and I'm not seeing myself wearing it casually either

GratefulMama said...

Same here, I like looking sexy when I work out but this tee is so ugly and nonfunctional!
