The First Mile 1/2 Zip looks flattering and well made, but I just can't get past the price. I was expecting $88 and thinking I should go scoop one up, but $118 is completely out of the question.

Heh, heh, let's see how long that new tote sticks around before too many jokes about Lulu's open, greedy hands kill it off. I like the idea of it and the design is much more attractive that the classic ones, but I think they should have looked a little longer to find the right message.

I love the bag featured with the Heathered Military Green Rest Less Pullover. Is that a sneak peak or an exisiting bag?

The high times look much more appealing on this model rather than on the website - I was nervous to order since the website version looks longer and baggies around the ankles! I wish I had a store closer by... maybe I will give them a try after seeing these photos.

@Dana - The modeling on the website is terrible lately, they shouldn't model it on people where it bags up on their lower legs.

@TexiLex - it's the All Day Tote

@ anon 6:27 am - Tech fleece has always been the priciest of the half zips. Also, half zips will be the priciest of LS tops, too. The Face the Frost was $108 last year so boo on the $10 bump.

I'm with you Anon 6:27am...I'm interested in the First Mile Half Zip but can't get past the price ($128 in Canada). I tried the FTF last year but didn't care for the seams on the arms - found them irritating so was hoping there would be a good replacement this year but not at a $20 increase...

Any Australian or British angels there?

Thanks for the info, LuluAddict. (I am anon @ 6:27). Maybe I'll take a look at them in the store. What I'm picturing is just a long sleeve with a zipper; maybe if they're more substantial, the price is less unreasonable.

I guess what I am curious about is: who is buying this? I haven't seen ANY of the new pieces in my crossfit gym, with the exception of Speed and Run Times and some Tracker shorts. I've been paying attention over the last couple of weeks, and I'm seeing a lot more Athleta, more and more Nike, and even some pieces from Target.
Are you guys seeing people wearing the new stuff at your gyms/studios?

Tried on and bought the Love Racerback yesterday. It's a great fabric and fit and the back gives more coverage so you have more bra options. I just don't love the color selection. I bought it in black.

re the first mile tech tight...the fabric is cotton fleece w/ lycra. No mention of any wicking capabilities in the key features. That concerns me b/c cotton fleece does not wick. Why make a cold weather tight that does not wick? Maybe I'm missing something here. The First Mile 1/2 zip is Tech Fleece and does wick.

for $118?

COTTON FLEECE

Naturally breathable Cotton Fleece fabric feels thick, soft and cozy long after you've cooled down

soft and cozy
naturally breathable
heat retention
LYCRA®

Added LYCRA® fibre for great shape retention

stretch
great shape retention
long-lasting comfort

@ anon 1:48 pm - I think the text is wrong on the website and it's tech fleece and not cotton. If it's in my store I'll get a photo of the fabric content on the tag.

I just talked to a representative and it is cotton fleece. When compared to the toasty tech, it won't absorb as much moisture!

Geez, is it the unreasonable prices, the miles and miles of mesh, the bland designs or the circa 1970 Fredericks of Hollywood peek-a-boo details that are going to force me spend to my hard earned $$ at Karma Yoga and Beyond Yoga?

Anonymous 11:11- wondering the same thing! Everyone wears their old Lulu at my box with the exception of a few new Speeds and Run Times here and there. There's lots of people wearing Athleta and UA though.

Did you find it true to size? I was thinking about ordering a few. I like the look of the coverage.

Will the tights in this picture in blue spray be available in the uk, do you know?
Also, does anyone know when the Regent Street store will be opening?
Thank you!

I'd be interested to know whether the tights are tech fleece or cotton fleece and how they are fitting and performing. Considering US or Athleta cold weather tights instead but these do have pockets.

whats UA? I have recently purchased a athleta pant, the wander pant (not the skinny one, the regular.... got the green and love it I use the bunges at the ankles and i got the petite (5'4") the material is awesome..... thick yet substantial and stretchy (nylon spandex ) I hate poly, this is why i usually don't buy athleta most of their stuff is poly, I even called and commented about it..... I've had a miserable time finding pants at lulu that i like...... ponte pant looks super cute but they are polyester.... yuk. I will get more of the wander pants if they will make pretty new colors, just have a ton of black!!!!!

LuluAddict said...

@Chels - They're wrong, the top are nylon/lycra blend - I tried them on today. The First Mile Half Zip is 82% nylon/18% lycra. For reference the Face the Frost tech fleece half zip is 74%nylon/26% elastane. The First Mile Jacket is made of nylon, polyester, and lycra depending on the fabric. Did you talk to the GEC? They rarely know what they are talking about and tend to go off the info on the website.

Anonymous said...

LLA and @Chels are you referring to the First Mile Half Zip or the First Mile Tech Tight? It's the bottom that appears to have no wicking capabilities. I hope I am wrong, but don't really care b/c I have two great pairs of Tech Tights from last year. I'll have to stop at the store today and see.

Be sure to bring your open wallet...yeesh! These prices are ridiculous for flimsier fabrics, shoddy construction and completely unimaginative design. I haven't bought anything but a pair of shorts on WMTM in the past couple of months. I use to be a weekly purchaser and anticipated the uploads so much. Especially this time of the year--they use to have some really cute and unusual stuff in the fall. Everything looks very generic and not special at all.

What about the Fitst Mile Tights? Are they tech fleece? How are people liking them?

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 5:16 pm - yes, they are tech fleece. People are saying they fit really tight and to size up at least one size.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 10:20 am - both. The material is tech fleece and is not cotton.
