Australian Spoilers

Tracker Shorts and an Energy Bra in Antique Paisley.

Sun Seeker LS and SS. The Blue is Beach Blanket Blue. I like these much better than the UPF tops we got but I don't think we'll get these since we're heading out of summer and Australia is heading into theirs.

Wee Space Gray CRB II. I wonder how these are selling. From looking at the website only True Red and Super Purple have really sold well. So far, there have been no new regular CRBs since these came out. :(

I'd buy the Wee Space in a regular CRB, but not the CRB II.

I don't expect bad feedback or a lack of sales will kill off the CRB II. Seldom have I seen such a stubborn management team cling to ideas which are panned by customers and result in a loss of sales. At least we got the humans back on the website. I consider that a colossal victory against this head-in-the-sand leadership team.

Lol - so true about head in the sand. If it doesn't sell they'll tweak it and eventually get rid of it. The Define jacket eventually got brought back, though they jacked up the price so much they now only sell out when they hit WMTM.

Are the black crops WUCs or something else can anybody tell?? I want something that is that length without all the mesh.

I love my Sunaway Runaway s/s top I bought in Hero Blue this summer. It was quite expensive so I only bought one but I would definitely buy this one in the Beach Blanket Blue. I also like the subtle scallop detail on the seams on this one too.

I totally agree with you Anon 8:18a.m.

There have been SO many colors I Would've bought a CRB in recently but I won't buy a CRB II. I almost caved for true red, but I just knew it would be one of those that I would put on and take off 20 times and never actually wear out of the house. It kinda stinks because I haven't bought any tops in quite a while and would like some different colors to throw in the mix, might have to hit up BST or poshmark.

agree with you CatepillarInTraining. I would have bought a few original CRB in recent colors, but not the CRB ll. I actually stocked up all the original CRBs I could get from the website so I should be good for a long time.

I'm really disappointed that LLL misled everyone with regard to the original CRB, but not surprised. They've certainly lost a significant portion of my business as a result. The least they could do is continue to offer it in basic colors (white, black, gray).

I actually really like the CRBII and bought a few of them. But now, after several washes, two of them have started getting saggy bacon neck at the new "lay flat" neckline. Has anyone else tried the CRBII and had this issue? I would buy the Wee Space Gray but now I'm not sure since I'm afraid the neck will just start sagging again.

I actually like the CRB II. I still like the original CRB too, but the fit wasn't perfect for me around the front neckline and armholes, this new version fits me better in those areas. I would have preferred if the racerback part was kept the same width as original CRB so it would be able to cover up bra straps too.

On the other hand, I can not stand the new Scuba 3 or Dance Studio Pants 3 at all - really hate them. They do not fit me right at all and look hideous on me. I used to buy tons of Scuba 2s and DSP 2s, but have not and will not buy any of these new ones. I also used to buy tons of original Groove Pants (and some Skinny Grooves), but then they changed the waistbands and I stopped buying them after buying and trying a few of the new versions, the waistbands don't fit or work out the same now (loved the original waistbands, they were perfect).

The Scuba 2 was supposed to be online only too. They were only "online only" until all the ones they had were sold out then never again to be seen :( I won't be surprised if same thing happens with CRB.

Agree, LLA, about the Defines not selling as well since price hikes. It looks like same thing is now happening with Swiftly tops too. What baffles me is that they went ahead and raised the price on Defines up another $10 recently (in Canada, now an insane $128) since the last price hike (up to $118 last year at this time) and they hadn't been selling well since then ($118).

I agree, Anon 10:03 AM. The only thing that kept me from truly feeling surprised and let down by the discontinuation of the CRB was the wisdom from this blog based on Lulu's previous shenanigans. Thanks to this blog and Lulumum I figured the introduction of the (extremely unflattering on me) CRB II meant the demise of my beloved CRB. I'm so glad I snapped up CRBs in all of the basic colors as soon as the CRB II came out since grey and white are now sold out in my size. I would have been all over a paisley CRB or any fall color since I'm now a different size than I was when I started collecting Lulu gear so none of my old CRBs fit. :( I'll keep stalking the site to see if they ever add old colors from their warehouse stock but I've lost hope that Lulu is listening to their customers and will bring back the design that most of us seem to favor.

@ anon 11 am - The biggest problem I have with the CRB II design is the "V" in the back of the neck. I think it really effs up the whole look of the back - it's ugly, clunky, and cheap looking. My second biggest nit on the design is the ribbing along the neckline and armholes. Part of the beauty of the CRB is the simplicity of the design. It would have been much better if they used the template of the Lace version of the CRB, which elongated the back armholes and narrowed the racerback but didn't use a clunky v in the back.

@LLA Annon @10:45 reminded me that I meant to ask you- have you heard that the DSP III are going to online only? An ed told me that at my store a couple weeks ago that they're going to online only due to poor sales. They had NONE at that store (which is funny bc the DSP II's were HUGE seller there- they always ran out of new colors!) so I felt like it must be true, but was curious if it was true or rumor.

Swooning over the Energy Bra in Antique Paisley - might just have to get it, though I'd prefer a cute tank in it that I could wear with a black energy bra underneath. (like an original CRB! Just sayin'.) I still have some older pieces in Billy Floral - I'm a sucker for paisley.
A little off topic, but I just bought a 7/8 tight and a crop at Athleta from the new Sculptek line - and am totally wowed by them. The fabric isn't as nice as Lulu but the fit and function is simply amazing. I haven't bought a pair of Lulu pants in years - not since the first release Astros - nothing ever fits me right. I should mention that I'm still wearing them after all these years - they have held up incredibly well. But I also love that Athleta comes in petite sizes. (Plus, the staff in the store were super nice!) I can't believe that after all this time Lululemon still doesn't offer petites.

That's my biggest problem too. And I noticed something the other day, when my sister was so kind enough to return my black shine-on (?) CRB she borrowed without asking- covered with deodorant may I add....Anyways! I noticed the back has that same stupid layered seam V in the back. I'm a seamstress (well, by that I mean I used to sew and sell cloth diapers when my son was wee) and I always admired how well-done the stitching is/was on my lulu items. Most of them can be worn inside out and no one would notice. Not so with this new tank. I don't like it, won't buy it, but I didn't love the original either. I like this other one I have, I think it was called Modern Racer Back?

As far as this preview, I Like Nothing.

Agreed!

Yea, I was one of those who "begged" them to bring it back in multiple stores, multiple times and online forums, finally they brought it back 2 years later. Quality in some pieces very poor, others are "ok". I felt $108 was "ok", $118 I would splurge for a special piece like herringbone. $128?!?! Well I haven't bought one at that price yet and don't know if I could stomach that. Not because I don't LOVE them, but I'm not that insane!

Anonymous said...

Yes, I totally agree with you on the Defines quality and prices anon 8:17 PM. Exactly my thoughts too!

I really wish they would bring Formes back,,,

Anonymous said...

I'm with you, anon @10:33. I don't care for the vent flap thing in the back of the Defines and have never even tried one on. I have two Formes, but I need more. I could wear that jacket every day. That said, I'm fairly tall and have a long torso, so the cut of the Forme may not work as well for most as it does for me.

I kind of like the CRB II also. The back is not great but I like the higher neckline as I'm not pulling it up all the time to avoid inappropriate cleavage at the gym like I do with the CRB.

Anonymous said...

I don't like the new CRB either, doesn't do much for me. The older CRB gave me way too much cleavage for any kind of workout. I still have a lot of the old CRBs but tend to go for the yogasmoga racerback.
