Thanks to Ms. R. for providing some early photos of the new Cool Racerback II. The new racerback portion is thinner but it doesn't look as though the armholes in the back have dropped at all, leading to odd proportions. When I get some photos of the entire back I will post them. Initial reaction to the redesign is not positive, particularly given the $10 increase.

Not liking the new back. :( this makes me sad

The only thing that will have a hope of changing it back will be a mass of feedback to the company about the new design and a lack of sales.

Not a fan. Looks thin. I wish they had made more of the crb exhale. I have the black and it is my favorite.

$10 more... are you freaking kidding me? For less material? What in the world justifies that price hike?

I guess I'm going to be buying up the original CRB's while I still can. I already called a store in my area that had one of the last size 8's in the hero blue and snapped it up. Debating the double gradient and the kayak even though I'm not crazy about the colors, just because I'm afraid this is my last chance, and I don't think anything better will come along. Hopefully the company gets enough negative feedback and pulls it head out. After a certain point people are going to need to see extra features, detailing, etc. to justify this kind of price. $42 was already a bit of a splurge that I was willing to pay because this tank had enough coverage to wear both working out and casually. I can't see people paying $52 for this. I definitely won't be.

I have to say it looks like the back of the fast lane singlet....and I love the singlet....however it has a v neck vs a scoop...so will be interesting. ....and a price hike of 10 will make me think twice to buy.....so volume will decrease .. funny because crb and wuc and wups are the least labour intensive...for those of you who sew you will understand that these don't have the complications of zippers, waistbands with multiple sections sewn together...and strappy tops etc. I said before speed shorts were going up because they are labour intensive...don't be fooled...fabric doesn't cost much so comparing the amount of fabric in items is not a comparison at all for cost. Thanks for posting...I know I will slow down in buying...but that's a good thing for me

@Kris - Yup, love the Exhales. I bought all three colors and feel so "dressed up" when I wear them. The Lace version is super nice, too.

Is it so much to ask that my bra not have to show underneath every top? I am too old for that noise, and I also have ugly sports bras that I can't wear because every Lulu top shows half of my bra. Bleh, time to stock up on CRBs...at least they will probably go on WMTM.

@ anon 12:28 pm - it does, a bit, except the fast lane singlet had longer armholes in back.

I don't know LLA the armholes are looking lower to me but until we get a better photo it's a guessing game. Is this new design supposed to represent this new exciting innovative blah blah blah they are harping about as a reason for raising the price? Oh right, less fabric and the "v" vs curve neck is really technically innovative, right?

I am with you Anon 12:30pm about not wanting to show off my sport bra. This new design is all about their mission to sell more sports bras and I don't think it's working as witnessed by all the tanks and bras on WMTM. They sure are stubborn over there at HQ.

I like it! The originals are way too long and I'm a tall girl. Maybe they got tired of all the free hemming they were doing.

Agreed! I don't like showing off my bra either. Some of the straps peeking out can be nice, but the original CRB did just that, it showed just enough to look nice without showing it all off. Why must all the tops and tanks show off the largest amount of bra possible?! I still can't understand why they couldn't keep the classic CRB along with adding this new version or any other new versions.

I like the new neck design in the back. As to the length, I have to try it. I took back at least 5 new tops in the last few months because they were too short (I'm 5.5). The price increase is bad news, even though the Canadian dollar is worth less than the US dollar. I said many times in the past at each price increase that that was the end of the road for me, but now I have enough Lulu stuff to last me a lifetime, so I will not buy. Unless something innovative comes along, hehehe....

I can't tell for certain that I do or do not like it until I see some better photos. That said, from what I can see I wouldn't pay $52 + tax for it. I love my CRBs and have stocked up on all the colours I like. ( did that with swiftly's too in case they go up Aug 1 as well) I have missed some CRBs this year that I now wished I hadn't passed on. I did get 2 of the exhale CRBs and they were what, $48? Those I could justify paying a premium on, the one above? No.

Its not horrid but it's also not the Cool Racerback Tank we all know an love. They shouldn't have "updated" the CRB but should have renamed this one and released it.

Not happy about the price increases lately. Pretty much done buying anything new because of that. I have so much lulu anyway but CRB's were a great staple to have in the closet for all seasons. Kind of a bummer.
