Lilac Swiftly Tank and Rio Nights Time to Shine Tights. I finally tried on the Time to Shine Tights I ordered from the upload last week. I really liked them except for the waistband situation. All the layers of material made me feel like I had industrial strength Spanx on. I think in the front you have six layers of material between waistband and flap. I have some photos of the pocket situation below:

The front has two slot openings but it's really one continuous pocket with a flap over it. The pocket and flap are lined in circle mesh. The flap goes around the entire waist and meets in the back in a "V" shape.

There is also a back slot pocket on the inside of the waistband. I don't really understand the design of this pocket since the opening is in the middle of the pocket, like a little tissue packet. The pocket is not very wide or tall/deep so the opening is across a good 2/3 of it. I would love to know what I am supposed to keep in here.

Other than the weird waist pockets, I did like the fit of the pants a lot. I think if you have thicker thighs and a booty these are a good design for you. I ordered the Rio Nights since the other two colors had large mesh panels that extended high up the back of the thigh. I ended up returning these but I might pick them up again if they go to a nice markdown price. They have thigh pockets which make them attractive to me for some running situations but I really prefer a zipper back pocket. The color did fade a bit with stretching but was nicely opaque.

Exactly the same experience I had in store today with this pant. Didn't even bother trying on the black with mesh. Tried the making moves tight and loved it! The reviews online say the mesh is itchy but I didn't think so.

Did anyone else randomly receive a gift card from lulu yesterday?

the pockets are like the "Flip belt" that I use to hold my stuff when running

The waist doesn't bother me but it is definitely more of a winter running tight - the fabric is swimsuit-y. I already took the tags off so I'm keeping it but I think I look chubby in these tights.

The slots are very similar to ones found on a Flip belt, which I have and like. I find my Flip belt does bounce a bit (I probably have the wrong size), so I am intrigued by this integrated design.
The back pocket looks to be good for keys. Coupled with the thigh pockets, I am tempted to try, but since it's shorts weather, could easily pass.

I also just tried these I store yesterday, and although I loved the print, the waistband was too much to deal with. I might opt for the new shorts that came out in Rio nights print instead.

I also loved the fit of the making moves tight and didn't find the mesh itchy, but there is a panel on the mid to top of your but that becomes sheer when u bend over. I sent mine back:(

I couldn't decide between these and the Speed Tights, but after trying these on I figured I'd go for something new. I really like the fit.

Wasn't sure where to post, but I got a 2nd pair of enlighten crops in Inkwell today and there is a design change, so obviously a new run. I bought my first pair in black a month ago in a SoCal store and they have flatlock seams on the in-seam. I love these crops for hot yoga, they do feel like nothing and stay put but the seam on the inner thigh, doesn't lie completely flat all the time. The new ones have a completely different application then I've ever seen. There is actually material glued over the seem and there is no sewing at all. I'll try out tomorrow and see how it works. I also didn't get a receipt in my delivered package today.

@Jenny - interesting. I am not usually a fan of glued seams.

@ anon 7:42 am - I am hoping there will be Rio Nights Pace Rival crops.

@ anon 2:50 am - no, dang it! But I read a number of people have, lucky ducks!

Oh yes reminds me of my flip belt - now I am interested in this design!

@ anon 2:50 am - I just read 30,000 gift cards were sent out.

so how is this gift card thing working? does lulu randomly send out cards to people? like a lottery or something?

Anonymous said...

I wish they'd stop putting mesh on everything. I'd try these if the solid colors didn't have it.

LLA where did you read that???

Anonymous said...

So how much are the gift cards for? I want to know how eagerly I should be checking the mail!

Not a fan of the multi layers in the waistband nor the pocket situation. I like the pockets in the front the way they are and definitely prefer a back zip pocket.

Lucky you if you received a gift card.

@ anon 12:35 I posted about the random gift card. I have an account and the app and haven't bought anything in a long time. I'm sure there's some sort of method to their madness

@ anon 2:37 pm - one of the stores posted it.

@ anon 3:11 pm - I read one person got $40 (!!) but not sure if the amount varied or not.

I received one for $30, it was the weirdest thing. I thought it was some sort of scam.

LLA, have you seen the lilac swiftly in store? The photos here look like they are the newer, textured version, while the website looks more like the older kind.
