Sucks!! The studio II's are the best. :-((
i was wondering what the difference was. So lined studio II are $118 ... unlined studio III are $118. :(
I'm sinking into depression and am going to have to spend my savings sticking up on studio II's. Boo! Down with the narrow leg!
Why do they keep screwing with the classics!
The real question is, will the waist roll on the new version?
The waist construction doesn't look like it's changed, at least from the outside, so my bet would be yes.
Hmmmm...I might kind of like the change. Sometimes I feel like my Studio Pants puff out a lot at the bottom. I will try them and see!
I LOVE my studio II pants, but one day DH said "oh! you're wearing your snow pants! Are you cold?" and that made me kinda self conscious since they also swish like snow pants too. I got some seawall pants (the men's side). They are like the studios but with more pockets and a slimmer leg... however the crotch is balloon-ey so I just wear them with bigger shirts. Plus their color selection is always limited (I'm an 8 in Studios, and a medium in seawalls). So I guess I am kinda OK with both pants. HOWEVER, I am not OK with them raising the price!! What the what??? I think Lulu is going to find any reason to raise prices. They will redesign everything and raise the price, and mark the new stuff way too high to begin with. I will be relegated to only buying the more comfortable prices on WMTM. That just makes me sad and angry.
I admit sometimes my feet get tangled up in the wider leg so I'll reserve judgement on the update until I try them on.
Lulu really really sucks... They are completely ruining all of my favourites. There will soon be nothing left for me to buy from them. Oh well, I guess that may be a good thing since it looks like the prices are going up on things again. So hating Lulu right now. I wear a size 4 in Groove Pants, and a size 4(barely - kinda tight in thighs and butt in a 4) in DSP, but should probably wear them in a size 6 in DSP because of my butt and thighs, now with skinnier legs I may need an 8 to fit my thighs(except it is probably guaranteed to be too large at waist then), but alas, I don't have to worry about that anyway because taking away the bootcut flare bottom totally is a huge no for me - straight legs pants looks like crap on me with my bigger thighs and bum.
I like the 3s more! Now i'm hoping someone will trade! :)
I'm ok with a narrower leg, but I really hope the models (online and here) are wearing a size up. Otherwise it looks like we get a frumpier butt. Boo.
I'm actually super happy about this. I'm short and the IIs are like a balloon at the bottom. I also wear Seawalls most of the time, you just don't get the awesome colors. I was in the store the other day and they had a bunch of IIs on MD.
The picture above doesn't look bad but the ones on the site are deal breakers. Very unflattering. Another example of the new Lulu crew killing a beloved product. It's a pity.
I like the narrower leg a lot more personally, although I feel for those who preferred the wider leg; it sucks to have your favorites changed. I never purchased a pair of Studio Pants because the wide leg was just too much for me. I might finally try it out!I have a couple pairs of Street to Studios, though, and will say that they fixed the waist band in the newer iteration; the previous year's rolled on me, 2015's did not. So I would expect that it is fixed in the Studio Pants as well.
I'm I'm at least hoping the studio IIs hit WMTM this week so I can stick up. I agree with 6:06 if u have bumm and thigh tapered pants don't work. Enough of the 80s already!
Woo hoo! I returned the only pair of Studios I bought, because I felt like I was wearing big huge Hefty trash bags tied around the bottoms of my legs. It looked and felt awful. I'll have to check the new ones out.
I am thrilled to see the DSP come out in a narrower leg but I hope the sizing and fit are the same as the ll's. There doesn't look to be as much elasticized ruching down the leg on the new ones and the fit looks weird below the bum and upper back thigh area. I am quite miffed at the price being the same as lined but I wouldn't be surprised that next winter we see the lined go up to 128. and unlined remain at 118. This really is such a calculated maneauver to get the price up on both, by saying OK they shouldn't be the same price so we will bump up the price of the lined ones. I won't be buying these in red grape so will have to wait for some other colours.I bet they are doing what they have done with the Groove Pants. They brought out the ll's with a smaller flare for a limited amount of time, now they are gone and the wider flare is back.
I really like the idea of a narrower leg. However, based on the photos from online, it looks like something else changes and the pants don't look as flattering. Maybe because the models are tall and the pants are the regular version? I do hope they bring out a tall version so I can try them on myself.
Yes! I literally JUST told the Ed who was in charge of the "improvement" board that I wish they'd update the wide leg on the Studios to just a slightly narrower or more modern boot cut leg. I love my Studio Pants - just not the big wide leg on the bottom! So much so I was tempted to take mine to my tailor and have them narrow the leg on the ones I have for me. I'm excited for the new ones! I'll sell my old II's to all you ladies who want the wider leg and buy these instead!
I'm really happy about the change. I sold all of my studios because the flare was too big. Now I hope they release these in a Tall Version, which I am sure they will since the Regular version only has a 31.5 inch inseam.
I agree! They can look like snowpants!
I do like the look of the narrower leg. I find it hard to choose shoes that look OK with my Studio Pants as they tend to get swamped by the fabric. Really I am just here to add my voice to the calls for the tall version, so pissed that they changed to regular and tall versions, I have only bought one pair since the change because we never get the different colours...yet I see lots of calls for the talls.
Yay. I'm a slim person and I find myself drowning in my size 2s but they are so comfortable. I love the red grape color though I really wish they would come in a tall (they are listed at a 31.5 inseam, I'm 5'8 so I'm sure that will be too short for me
I like the new ones better as well. The price not so much.M
Ladies! I was just in the store today and they stocked the IIIs in black, gray, and the grape! (Maybe olive green too, can't remember). I'm 5'8 and I was stuck between a 4 or a 6, the 4 fit better but the inseam wasn't long enough for me. I ended up going with the 6 because pants that aren't long enough drive me crazy! Anyway, check your local store as they may have more colours than the online shop! Good luck!
I have 2 pairs of the dance pant ll and 2 pairs of the dance pant lll. WHY oh WHY did they mess with a classic??!!! I LOVED the ll's which is why I bought the lll's, but honestly, with the narrower leg opening, instead of looking like a dance pant, they just look like a goofy mom pant.
I just realized this today! 10-21-16. I'm ANNOYED. I couldn't figure out why I liked my black pair so much. It's because the are II with wider legs. I don't like the III UGH. I hate the way they change things when the previous version was FINE.
I do not like the III at all. I took them back. As a dancer they look awful. I agree, why are they messing with the classics? The narrow leg A. doesn't rest nicely over tennis shoes. B. Makes me look like an Umpa Lumpa. I also dislike how they took away the scrunchy seem on the outside seems. That was my favorite part!
