I gotta say, I don't really get the barre star pants. Why full on luon in front and mesh in the back? That approach makes sense with running pants, but not for something you use in a studio environment. I haven't taken many barre classes, but I used to take ballet and I was never, ever cold enough for full on luon. Even if you're in a cold studio, why would the front of your legs be cold and the back hot? Confusing. Something tells me I'm giving this a lot more thought than the designers did...

The Let Be LS looks like a top that I bought from GAP. $58?

Hi LLA, what is the difference between luxtreme and full-on luxtreme? No eds, either online or in store, can tell me!

Has anyone tried the berry rumble/jewelled magenta jacquard define? Wondering whether to stay TTS or go up a size since it's in the jacquard fabric? TIA! Happy New Year and thanks for your fabulous blog LLA!

@ anon 5:52 am - full on is thicker and nearly always opaque. It's also less stretchy (or more compressive, however you look at it :-) ) A lot of times you'll find it used on the back panel of solid colored run crops, usually black ones. You can tell when this is done because there is a slight difference in color between sections. You might also be able to tell because the front of your legs will sometimes feel cooler than the back.

@ anon 10:27 am - Happy New Year to you, too - and thank you. I haven't tried this on yet but I think jacquards tend to feel snugger since they're not as stretchy.

Thank you so much LLA! That's exactly what I wanted to know and I really appreciate it! Also going to pick up some pace rivals thanks to your reviews! :)

@ anon 12:27 - haha, maybe you should work in their design team! I'm confused too about this combo.

12:27 I totally agree with you on those pants. I think they are doing that for their own strange idea of fashion or aesthetics.
The more I see this new lulu stuff the less I purchase.

Totally agree!!! I'm a former ballet dancer/ PT and currently taking barre classes in LA area.. Since there is very little cardio/warming up involved I always feel I need my legs to feel warm/injury protected for all the strengthening and stretching exercises..

Sort of cannot believe they are carrying on with mesh still. Zero appeal to me. However, I suppose if it is a seller, they could have one standing version all the time like they do WUs, Groove pant etc.

I tried on the berry rumble/jeweled magenta diamond jacquard define last night... it was TTS for me. It was super soft and more stretchy than other jacquard ones that I've tried on in the past. =) I almost bought it but already had three About that Base L/S tops and an It's a Cinch top that I was purchasing. I'll probably go back and get the define though... it was very cozy and comfortable and the color is way nicer in person than online.
