Lululemon Recall (UPDATED)

Another lululemon recall has hit the news recently (maybe lululemon should start buying advertising so it stays on the media's good side, coughNikecough). This time it's for jackets with elastic drawcords that have little metal or hard plastic aglets at the end. The styles affected include: Carry and Go Hoodie, Cool Down Jacket, Course-ette Jacket, Cozy Up Jacket, Dance Studio Jacket, Dance Sweat Shirt, Don’t Hurry Be Happy Pullover, Gratitude Wrap, Necessity Jacket, Proactive Jacket, Refresh Snap Up, Run Sun Blocker Pullover, Run Track N Field Jacket, Run With It Jacket, Sanctuary Jacket, Savasana Tunic, Sing, Floss, Travel Jacket, Stow’N Go Jacket, Stride Jacket, Summertime Tunic, Varsity Hoodie, Victory Jacket and Wear With All Jacket.

Lululemon's solution is going to be to send you a new drawcord. You have a choice of five colors - Black, White, Gray, Blue, or Red. Awesome (not awesome). You can contact the GEC at 1-877-263-9300 or GEC@lululemon.com.

Though I sincerely hate to augment the factory condition of any of my lululemon items, I'll probably send away for the new drawcords to have on hand. Luckily, the two affected jackets I have are black but if you have some pretty Lolo Purple piece you are SOL.

Most of the responses on the boards have been a giant WTF: 'Is this for real?' 'Why aren't knives recalled? People cut themselves with them daily.' 'Quick, everyone get in your bubble. ' but the biggest area this will impact is in re-sale. It becomes illegal to re-sell recalled items, though god knows how it will be policed since even the GEC/eds can't identify styles, so good luck with that.

New Running in the City Tank and Wee Space Pace Rival Crops. I like the print of the crops but hope they come in Inspires. I am not a fan of the color blocking at the calf only because it limits your matching options in your tops.

Net Pop Black Running in the City 7/8 Tight in the top right photo. Note the phone in the back fold-over mesh pocket - I had no idea this back pocket was mesh. Can't say I'm on board with that since I usually like to put my car/house key in the back zip pocket and I can see them ripping the mesh. However, these may be geared more towards non-runners who like the luxtreme bottoms for pilates or other workouts where you need to lay on your back.
